The spires of Solhaven rose high in the distance, shining like a beacon of hope and respite. After the battle with the Abyssal Guardian, the journey through the forest had become much calmer, as if the land itself sighed in relief. However, the weight of their ordeal still pressed heavily on the group.
Ryu led the way, Voidfang bound to his back and the shard secreted away in his pouch. Its quietness was intimidating; now it only resonated when it pleased with the Guardian earlier, leaving him to question if it were slumbering or merely biding its time.
"We're almost at civilization," Draven said, shattering the silence. He put his axe on his shoulder with that blade all dulled from the fight but still fearsome. "I would kill to have a hot meal and a proper bed."
Aris snickered, and her bow rested against her shoulder. "You're going to have to settle for that first inn we see. I don't think Solhaven is known for its luxury."
