The Spire groaned ominously as they raced through its crumbling corridors. Every second seemed to make the tremors underfoot grow stronger. Jagged cracks ran along the walls and debris rained down from the ceiling, making them dodge falling stones and walk through an increasingly unstable path.
"Go forward!" Kaelith pushed with one last, raw breath. And she went now, leading with her staff out before her-a soft light there that seemed to chase ahead upon the rocky surface. Abyssal energy pulsed, rippled back about them now in anger; the Spire, it seemed, was unwilling that they leave.
"Typical Abyss," Draven said with a jerk of laughter and a lift to his axe shoulders. "In defeat, as always, she would take down with her.
Aris darted to the side, avoiding a falling beam, her breath coming in quick bursts. "Less commentary, more running, Draven! Unless you want to see what the bottom of the Spire looks like up close.
