The more they went into Solhaven, the heavier the atmosphere became. The mist was alive, curling up around their feet like grasping hands. Every step forward felt heavier than the last, as if the ground itself was resisting them.
Kaelith led the way, her silver hair a beacon in the murky gloom. Her sharp blue eyes scanned their surroundings, ever alert for threats. Behind her, Ryu kept his hand on Voidfang, the sword humming faintly against the mounting corruption. Aris and Draven brought up the rear, their weapons drawn, their faces tense but resolute.
Forgotten ghosts, that's what the remains of Solhaven loomed around them like. Homes were hollowed shells, windows gaping like empty eyes. Cobblestone streets were cracked and broken, overgrown with veins of blackened, corrupted plant life.
