Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Testing room.

Meanwhile at Chicago, Ava stumbled forward as she was pushed into the dark room. She heard the sound of the door creaking shut behind her, followed by the click of a lock. She was plunged into total darkness, and the silence was oppressive.

At first, Ava stood still, trying to get her bearings. She stretched out her hands in front of her, feeling her way through the darkness. Her fingers brushed against a cold stone wall, and she followed it, trying to find a way out.

But as she moved deeper into the room, Ava realized that she was alone. Or so she thought. The darkness seemed to press in around her, making her feel claustrophobic and anxious.

She stood still, listening intently. But there was no sound. No breathing, no movement. Just silence.

And then, suddenly, Ava heard a voice. It was low and rough, and it sent shivers down her spine.

"Get out now," the voice growled.

Ava spun around, trying to locate the source of the voice. But it seemed to come from all around her, echoing off the walls.

At first, she thought she was alone in the room. But now, she realized that she wasn't. There was someone else in there with her. Someone who didn't want her there.

Ava's heart began to pound in her chest. She took a step back, trying to get away from the voice. But her feet seemed rooted to the spot.

"Who's there?" Ava called out, trying to keep her voice steady.

There was no response. Just silence.

And then, the voice spoke again.

"I said, get out now."

The room Ava found herself in was no ordinary room. It was a testing ground, a place where a young woman's fate would be decided. The man who occupied this room was notorious, feared by all who knew him. His name was whispered in terror: "The Beast."

The Beast's mother had long given up on finding her son a suitable bride. He was 28 years old, and his behavior towards women was, to say the least, peculiar. He wouldn't talk to them, wouldn't even look at them. And if they dared to approach him, he would lash out, injuring them severely.

Fearing for her son's future, The Beast's mother had resorted to buying slaves for him. She hoped that he would take pity on them, that he would see something in them that he didn't see in women of his own social class.

But so far, none of the slaves had lasted. The Beast would reject them, sometimes violently, and his mother would be left to pick up the pieces. Yet, she continued to hold out hope that one day, she would find a woman who could tame her son's beastly nature.

And so, Ava found herself in this dark, foreboding room, waiting to see if she would be the one to finally capture The Beast's heart. But as she stood there, she heard a voice, low and menacing, telling her to "Get out now."
