"Are you going back together?" Shisui asked, looking at Obito, who was busy putting away the test papers.
"Shisui, are you going back early today?" Obito asked, a bit confused.
Both Shisui and Obito were from the Uchiha clan, and their homes weren't far apart, but they rarely returned together. Shisui often stayed out later than the others.
Obito wasn't reluctant to train more, but he worried that if he came back too late, his grandmother would be worried about him.
"Yeah, Master Mu Yue said I should rest early today to prepare for tomorrow's training," Shisui nodded and said.
The reason Shisui usually came back late was because no one was at his home, so it didn't matter where he stayed.
"Well, you should really rest, then. Tomorrow's training will definitely be tough," Obito reminded him, looking at Shisui with a hint of sympathy. After all, Mu Yue had said that tomorrow's training would be intense.
Obito didn't receive such advice, so he figured Shisui must be facing an especially challenging training session.
"I have a rough idea; it should focus on strengthening my body," Shisui said. Since Master Mu Yue mentioned that the new Body Flicker technique would put more pressure on his legs, it was clear that physical training was necessary.
"It might also involve joining your battles, who knows? If that happens, I'll give it my all too," Shisui joked.
"I hope it's not that," Obito said, folding his hands together and silently praying to the Sage of Six Paths.
Obito had seen Shisui practice the Body Flicker technique before, and his speed was so fast that if they were to fight, Obito wouldn't be able to react in time. If the opponent were Shisui, the number of test questions he'd have to do after each battle would double.
"That probably won't happen. If it were, Master Mu Yue would have mentioned it earlier," Shisui laughed, seeing Obito praying earnestly.
To be honest, neither Obito nor Might Guy could give Shisui any real pressure right now, which was why Mu Yue wouldn't arrange training sessions with them. Unless Mu Yue's goal was to put pressure on Obito and Might Guy.
As they walked along, Obito suddenly stopped. Shisui looked back at him, confused.
"Shisui, wait a moment. That old lady over there seems to need help," Obito pointed to an elderly woman struggling to move with a large bundle on her back.
Shisui looked in the direction Obito was pointing, and indeed, there was an elderly woman struggling to move down the street.
"Obito's observation skills are so sharp?" Shisui thought, surprised that he hadn't noticed earlier.
After asking the elderly woman what difficulties she was facing, Obito immediately offered to carry her luggage and take her to her destination.
"Don't worry, Grandma. Even though I'm still young, I'll become a ninja next year, and I'm very strong," Obito patted his chest and smiled innocently.
After that, Obito performed a set of basic taijutsu moves, which impressed the elderly lady, and she handed over her bundle to him.
Obito walked ahead with the elderly woman following behind, and Shisui, walking last, wore a thoughtful expression.
After helping the elderly lady, the two of them continued on their way home. After a while, Obito stopped again to help another elderly woman, who was using a cane, get home.
Shisui now understood why Obito was called the odd one.
For children of the Uchiha clan, the first lesson learned was not to honor teachers or respect the elderly, but that strength was paramount. The power of ninjutsu came first, and nothing was more important than increasing one's strength.
Shisui wasn't particularly old, but his innate talent and strength were clear. Even children older than him had to follow his lead.
Obito was different. He wasn't very enthusiastic about training to increase his strength. Instead, he was genuinely interested in actions like helping the elderly.
Shisui thought that perhaps this was the reason Obito had noticed the elderly woman in need of help.
"Shisui."
Once they entered the Uchiha clan's compound, they started running into familiar faces of the same age. Uchiha Tetsuhiko waved when he saw Shisui, but he was surprised to see Obito standing next to him.
"Tetsuhiko," Shisui greeted him.
"I'll go home first," Obito quickly said, eager to see his grandmother. He waved goodbye to Shisui and left without greeting Uchiha Tetsuhiko, since they weren't really close.
"Okay," Shisui nodded.
"Shisui, why are you with him?" Uchiha Tetsuhiko asked, curious.
Before the exam, Obito had always been considered a strange one among the Uchiha—his grades were poor, and he didn't seem to care about improving. He acted somewhat clueless, and his behavior didn't resemble that of most Uchiha.
Since the exam, Tetsuhiko didn't feel the need to label Obito anymore, but he still found him to be a very strange Uchiha.
This wasn't just Tetsuhiko's opinion; it was the consensus among other children his age in the Uchiha clan.
"Is something wrong?" Shisui asked.
"Well, it's just surprising since he's Uchiha Obito," Tetsuhiko said after thinking for a moment.
"Actually, once you get to know him, Obito's a really good person," Shisui replied.
Shisui didn't elaborate further. After a few more words, he returned to his home.
"Could it be that Obito's progress is because Shisui taught him some special training methods?" Uchiha Tetsuhiko thought to himself as he watched Shisui's retreating figure.
He wasn't entirely content with being beaten by Obito, so he had been working hard on his training to regain face during the final exam.

The next morning, Shisui and Obito got up early and went to the training grounds in the Southern Forest.
As Shisui had guessed, Mu Yue had arranged a heavy physical training regimen for him.
Push-ups, squats, swimming, running laps around Konoha—the training was far more intense than Shisui had imagined.
"Isn't this training a bit excessive for my age?" Shisui couldn't help but ask.
Although some people said that a ninja's body had limitless potential, the truth was that excessive training could leave hidden injuries.
Obito, who had been watching Shisui, looked at him in surprise and realized that his own training seemed light in comparison.
"Normally, this much training wouldn't be possible, but I have special medicine that can relieve fatigue and help heal the body after training," Mu Yue explained.
Shisui didn't know this, but Mu Yue had actually just given him a big reward.
The special medicine Mu Yue had was limited, so he had decided to save two doses for Shisui's intensive training.
Among all of Mu Yue's students, Might Guy was the only one who was strictly focused on taijutsu, and Mu Yue had planned to give all the medicine to him. However, seeing Shisui's good performance, he decided to allocate two doses for Shisui's training.
Shisui's potential was the highest among his students, and Mu Yue hoped that Shisui would enter a period of rapid growth soon, so that the chakra provided by his disciples would be more substantial.
"Special medicine?" Shisui was surprised. If the medicine had special effects, it made sense for the training to be so intense.
Based on Mu Yue's usual training plans, he wasn't the type of teacher to arbitrarily increase training loads.
"Mu Yue, how much does this special medicine cost? My family left me a lot of money," Shisui asked.
Although his parents and grandparents had passed away, they had left him their assets.
"You don't need to worry about that. Just focus on completing your training. That's the best reward for me," Mu Yue smiled.
Seeing the sincere expression on Mu Yue's face, Shisui felt deeply moved. He could sense that Mu Yue was speaking from the heart.
To be honest, the warmth Mu Yue had given him felt even greater than what he had received from his uncle.
