With both Drana (human female) and Tasia (wolf kin female), they stood and stared at each other from opposite sides in silence, ready for an attack.
"ARE YOU READY... SET... GO!!!" shouted the harpy announcer.
Drana launched forward first with a huge impact boost. With great speeds, she reached tasia within seconds and aimed for the head with a downward hook punch. Tasia detected this; still in her calm demeanor, she blocked the attack, and Drana's punch hit the sword instead, which creates a shockwave afterwards.
She backed away, hoping to land another attack, and Tasia was ready for any of her tricks. Drana came with multiple kicks and punches, which created a blur motion with each attack as she moved quickly, but Tasia blocked them with either her legs or sword.
With a final strike, they moved back, landing on thier two feet "Drana, was it?" Tasia pointed at her and gave her a smirk, showing her canine teeth. "I sense you have something up your sleeve. Don't hold back because... because this next attack will be me putting everything I've got, so don't die."
"!?"
Drana was surprised by the comment; she gave a high alert, ready for whats to come. Tasia then erupted with a bluish-purple aura that consumed her, creating a miniature dust cloud around her and a small crater from where she stood. Drana could sense that she was getting stronger, but she had the determination to win, so she stood her ground.
Tasia raised her huge sword, and with one slash to the ground, a shockwave came at her at full speed, breaking the ground in the process. It hit and created a huge dust cloud that consumed the entire arena. The audience was thinking if this battle had ended so fast.
However, as the dust cleared, to their disbelief, they saw Drana still standing with minor smudges and bruises on her body; she had blocked it.
"Impressive, I did not think you would be able to tank my attack head-on," Tasia said.
"I did not think that either, but I'm not going down that easily," Drana replied.
"Drana's durability might be very high," Komeri thought.
With that, they stared intensely at each other, Tasia with her approving smirk and Drana with dedication in her eyes.
"Well, how about we stop playing and go right into the real fighting?" Tasia suggested.
Drana nodded, and the ground began to tremble slightly, with some dust particles levitating a little. With a final tug, "AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!" they erupted with huge amounts of mana energy as an aura surrounded them, causing a wind burst.
With a sidestep, they launched at one another, Tasia with her sword and Drana with her fists. They collided, creating a huge shockwave of energy and wind, followed by multiple punches and sword swings, making a blur effect from their great speeds.
It looks like they are evenly matched, but...
"YOU ARE OPEN!" Tasia yelled. Drana gave a shocked look mid-swing and was hit by Tasia's sword on her abdomen, throwing her against the wall, and she fell to the ground headfirst, blood forming from her mouth.
"IS THIS IT FOR DRANA, OR WILL SHE... WAIT, SHE STOOD UP, FOLKS! I DON'T THINK SHE WANTS TO BACK DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT!" said the harpy announcer.
Tasia gave an excited and wide grin, exposing her sharp canines even more. "Well, well, well, I guess that you are not wasted potential after all."
Drana stood up, then wiped the blood off her lips and struck a fighting pose. "Hmm, well, what other tricks do you have—" Before Tasia could finish her sentence, in a blink of an eye, Drana had already closed the distance between them. Tasia gave a shocked expression; however, before she could make contact with Tasia's face, Drana collapsed from exhaustion.
"W-what was that power earlier"tasia thought with a surprised reaction.
"TASIA... IS THE WINNER, FOLKS! BUT THAT FIGHT WAS EXPLOSIVE. DON'T GO LEAVING, BECAUSE THERE WILL BE OTHERS COMING NEXT WEEK!" said the harpy.
Komeri, Drana, and Liana were at the back after the crowd began to leave, some discussing whether the fight for next week would top this one.
Drana was sobbing in Liana's chest.
"I'm telling you, it's OK," Liana said.
"No... I... I... promised that I would win... and... and..." Drana replied.
"Guys, I will be right back," Komeri said.
"Where are you going?" Liana asked.
"To take a piss," Komeri just lied. Then, after that, he went to the further back, and Neila was waiting for him.
"So you have come; let's get to the point," Neila said.
Komeri then slowly removed his mask and gave a calm expression. "Sup," he said.
Neila, with her fox-like humanoid body, twitched with happiness and excitement. She could not believe her eyes; it was her stepbrother. "Is really you..."
She then dragged Komeri off his feet and began hugging him tightly. "Neila, get off me," Komeri said.
"Just a little longer," Neila replied.
"So soft," Komeri leaned in and fluffed her fur.
After the reunion was done, komeri began to part ways with Neila, her team, Drana, and Liana.
"Master, was it wise to give them those talisman slips?" Opus asked telepathically.
"Don't worry, it's alright. I trust them," Komeri replied.
Before he left, Komeri gave them a small rectangular piece of paper that he could use to communicate telepathically or teleport himself to them if needed. But for now, he focused on his next task.
"Besides, I want to build an alliance, as I sense that there will be others after my head," Komeri said as he walked into town looking for an inn so he could rest, but...
"There you are, you perverted trash! I won't even forgive you for what you did to my sister," said a mysterious female in black as she spied on Komeri from a distance, rage in her eyes.
◇◇◇◇
In the morning, Komeri was going to a dungeon for the dungeon run, where his met multiple adventurers of different beast kin and humans.
A guild leader stood forth. In his thirties, he had a weird-looking hat and wore some leather clothing while smoking a cigarette(half wolf male). "Listen up, dogs! This here is a dungeon run, so if you die in there, it will not be my problem. Plus, the items you find will be yours, but don't go aiming for corruption. To get in, you have to be at least a team of three."
Komeri was shocked; he was alone and looked at the others, hoping to join, but none were available. He could just make Kamiru and Opus his teammates, but he did not want to attract unwanted attention. Then, before he could loose hope, two twin short males approached with smirks.
They sure looked the same with their petite figures, wearing long black scarves and long-sleeved black medieval jumpsuits, with daggers around their belts, and had blond hair, green eyes.
"Hey there, sir! I can't help but notice you are alone. How about we join you to complete the team huh? I'm Rona, and this is my twin brother, Rena," Rona said.
Komeri had doubts but accepted anyway.
The dungeon run had now begun, with others going into some rooms and taking different paths; the number of people began to decrease, and fighting the monsters within that path.
After hours, they reached a three-way path, komeri had an idea out of suspicion "Well, let's split up. If we don't find anything, we can come back and find another room," Komeri suggested.
"My, my, you are calculated! What made you make that decision?" Rena asked with a smug expression.
"I just want this dungeon run to move smoothly thats all," Komeri replied.
As they moved, Komeri took the middle path, but as he walked into a dead-end open area, his head was cut off instantly, decapitated from his body, and fell to the ground.
The last thing Komeri could see was that the culprit, which is a female in black, looking down at his head with a dissatisfied expression.
"Komeri, you are dead, and that was for my sister Beatrice," she then vanished into the shadows.
"So it has begun," Komeri said,he was calm he knew he could not die that easily.
