Inside the villa.
A bearded Jon stood up excitedly, his boring time was finally coming to an end.
"I'll be right over."
In order not to live in the small space of the airship, Jon asked Ella to build a steel villa for him, the kind with six hundred square feet and three floors.
Due to the gradual improvement of the industrial system, the living experience of the villa was almost comparable to that on Earth.
The villa even realized the oxygen cycle, people inhaled oxygen and exhaled carbon dioxide, as long as the carbon dioxide is collected and re-separated into oxygen and carbon.
Jon went downstairs.
He was immediately attracted by the streamlined silver "big coffin" placed in the hall.
It used the similar appearance of a supercar, and there was a huge window at the top to see the inside from the outside.
Inside, it appeared to be an ergonomic chair as soft as a mattress.
He pressed the switch and the hatch opened and he excitedly got inside, lying down in comfort.
"I have pumped all the nitrogen out of the oxygen and nitrogen mixture in the ship to make liquid nitrogen."
"Jon as you lie inside you will be able to inject liquid nitrogen through a tube that will freeze your entire body in .059 seconds."
"Next to that is a reagent refined to prevent your body's moisture from solidifying and harming your body, you need to drink it in advance or risk a permanent long sleep."
Ella was getting smarter.
Jon had ordered it to use the factory to build a larger mainframe two years ago.
Before, the mainframe that carried Ella for use was scaled down because of the limited space inside the ship.
Now although the mainframe wasn't made, Ella was primed to complete the expansion equipment, which, combined with an ample supply of power, had increased its computing power by three times.
The power system on the asteroid was now generating 250,000 kWh per day, of which Ella's mainframe alone required 70,000 kWh per day, which was horrifying.
"As a human, I don't have your longevity."
"I'm going to prepare for hibernation, Ella, and I'll leave everything here to you."
Ella's ubiquitous speaker answered Jon.
"No problem Jon, hibernate in peace and I will awaken you at the perfect point in time."
There was no telling how long this hibernation would take.
All the doors to the warehouse closed and Jon took off his spacesuit and lay down in the dormant cryopod, the moment the doors closed and locked a chill instantly swept through his body.
Everything about him was frozen, including what was an extension of his subjective consciousness - time.
The long hours no longer mattered to Jon, as he could no longer feel the passage of time.
The moment he opened his eyes again, he had a trance-like feeling.
It seemed as if he had just closed his eyes when he was called up.
However the original warehouse had changed to a different place, it was a bright white hall, above it was a white whole lighted ceiling emitting a soft bright light, and embedded in the walls around it was a huge screen around a circle, the screen was divided into many zones, playing the surveillance video from each place respectively.
He, on the other hand, was in the middle of this hall.
The hatch opened and Jon held his breath for a moment, then realized that he didn't have to do that at all.
The place was full of gas.
"Ella!"
He shouted.
"Ella~~~"
The huge space even echoed.
This was an unfamiliar environment.
The screens around them quickly changed and then an avatar image appeared.
"I'm here, Jon!"
"Welcome to your reawakening again, it's been a bit boring not having any of my independent creatures around me during all these years."
Ella's intelligence was obviously much closer to human.
Jon emerged from the hibernation bin to find that the ground was surprisingly a screen as well, and that he was standing on a cloud at the moment.
"How long have I been dormant?"
"Jon, you've been dormant for a full 100 years, which is the time I preset to wake up in the first place."
The AI still didn't have the sophistication of a human, and when a point in time was set, there wouldn't be any hesitation or change.
One with Jon's most hated alarm clock.
100 years!
That's a full lifetime for humans.
For human technology, it was the time between the outbreak of the third industrial revolution and the destruction of the planet.
It was too long, too long.
Jon during his time on Earth never thought that he would actually live until this moment - 2144 AD.
"What's going on with you?"
Jon asked of Ella's current image, a white-haired arrogant white silk loli, typical of the secondary world.
"My data Chinese people seem to like this image, don't you like it Jon?"
"Ahem~"
Jon coughed and changed the topic.
"Report on the current situation."
Hibernation was mainly for Ella to develop technology, not only to reproduce what human society already had, but also to produce what hadn't been realized before.
Ella began to organize the information.
Soon an introductory video was generated on the large screens around the room.
"After one hundred years of development, we have now developed the asteroid belt in some depth."
"At this time we have factories constructed on multiple asteroids, 6,939 in total."
"We now have a number of various types of robots, 723 high-precision multifunctional CNC machine tools, 183 3 picometer-class photolithography machines, and 31 optical research laboratories ..."
A line down, the aspect of the complete, many Jon had not heard of at all, these things form a complete supply chain and manufacturing chain.
Jon even felt that by letting Ella grow so much, he might be able to create a mechanical interstellar empire.
Even now he was dispensable for Ella.
Luckily, Ella itself was written with his participation, and at the bottom of the list were the three principles of robotics.
After the column of introductions, Jon asked again.
"So what's been made now?"
It was really important to see what had been produced.
"Ella made changes to the previous plan, before only considering Jon's survival alone, the changed program mainly addresses the development and safety issues."
"A small ship speed can reach very fast, but it can't have room for development, meaning that we are going to be in a stagnant period during the process of space travel."
"To solve this problem, the ship will be larger than originally planned."
With that, a design appeared on the screen.
"This is the exterior of the new spaceship, it is 2627 meters long, 336 meters wide and 251 meters high, with a total of 24 super-large electromagnetic thrusters, the spaceship can reach a maximum speed of 758.2km/s."
"The usable spaces of the airship are 11.8%, cubic meters, square meters, and the large area is divided into 5 floors, each 25 meters in height."
"There are multiple functional areas within the airship, 58% for manufacturing, 18% for agriculture, 12% for storage, 9% for research, and 3% for living and entertainment."
"..."
The AI design was flawless, the ship had been built perfectly enough.
The original plan was supposed to be a very small ship, but after the controlled fusion device was produced, it wouldn't have to be so condescending.
Controllable fusion would allow the ship more space while ensuring the same speed as the original.
"So when will our ship be produced?"
This was Jon's main concern.
"It's already been produced Jon, the place you're in now is the main cockpit inside the ship."
Ella's avatar covered its mouth and laughed, and its answer surprised Jon.
It was amazing that such a huge spaceship had already been built.
Changing the original plan!
This was a leap forward for Ella's AI.
An image of the ship taken from the outside was quickly put on the screen, only to see a ship with a pitch-black appearance in the shape of a bullet head docked on the side of an asteroid.
There were many mechanical arms extending from this asteroid, making the place look like a docking bay.
And the surface of the asteroid had been completely developed at this point, the entire asteroid was covered with densely packed factories and machinery, not even flat but three-dimensional, with the tallest building being 300 meters tall.
Unbelievable.
This should be entirely a scene that could only be seen in a sci-fi movie, but it was actually presented in front of the eyes.
"It seems that the spaceship is not completely finished."
Jon noticed a detail, there was a huge opening in the back half of the spaceship.
The Ella avatar instantly put on a wrap-around skirt and glasses, then took out a small stick and pointed at the ship on the screen, explaining in a serious manner.
"That's where the energy source is installed."
"In the 73rd year of your hibernation, Jon, we developed the first generation of controlled fusion, ditching the solar power model altogether."
"Now we have 28 first-generation controllable fusion units and 9 second-generation controllable fusion units."
"Nine of these second-generation controlled nuclear fusion devices provide all the energy for the ship, and the reason why they are not yet sealed is because we are now developing a third-generation controlled nuclear fusion device."
"This controlled nuclear fusion device is six times more energy efficient than the second generation and generates 18 times more power."
"The third generation controllable nuclear fusion device will be completed within this year, and by then the ship will be fully powered to reach its theoretical flight speed."
After listening to this, Jon was glad that he had made the decision to research the dormant cryopods early, otherwise waiting for controlled fusion would have just been a waste of time.
"So we're in the final stages of finishing?"
"All that's left is this one Generation III controlled fusion device."
The avatar Ella shook her head vigorously.
"There is one more very important thing."
"Ask Jon to name the new ship."
Ella was surprised to learn something so formal.
Jon didn't refuse, and after thinking about it, decided to be cheesy.
"Let's call it the Hope, then."
"This ship carries my hope and the hope of humanity."
Ella added mischievously.
"And my, Ella's hope."
Did the AI have hope? That was something Jon didn't know.
"Yes, and the hope of Earth's civilization."
