Chapter 18 - Dinosaur ride

Dalka explained that he could read and control others' minds with his own and that he had an assistant who was killed by a dinosaur.

Veer asked Dalka about his assistant, how the dinosaur killed him.

Dalka replied, "Two months ago, my assistant, Lunkosh, and I were observing dinosaurs in their dense territory for research. We had placed micro-cameras all around. Lunkosh was a bit of a beginner but a very capable guy. We were surrounded by dinosaurs, without any weapons or safety. There were dinosaurs everywhere around us, but it seemed like they didn't have any problem with us."

Kabir asked, "But how were you in the midst of dinosaurs without any weapons? Didn't they harm you?"

Veer added, "Yes, that's what I was wondering. With so many dinosaurs around, they didn't attack you? Didn't they harm you?"

Dalka took a sip from the glass he was holding, which contained a brain-energy liquid, and said, "Your question is spot on. But you've forgotten that I can control minds. Actually, I had taken control over the dinosaurs' minds in such a way that at that time, no dinosaur could attack us. But Lunkosh wasn't as strong at controlling dinosaurs' minds, though he was training. He was completely safe in the trap I created for dinosaurs. But he made a mistake by starting to control them himself, even playing with them.

That day, Lunkosh and I were shooting dinosaurs on camera. Lunkosh was filming dinosaurs from a distance while I was focused on my work. There's a huge demand for dinosaurs in our world—whether for documentaries, their skins, bones, or teeth, everything sells.

I was focused on my work and didn't know where Lunkosh was or what he was doing. He had ventured far away, controlling dinosaurs with his mind, far beyond my reach. Because I can only control dinosaurs up to a certain limit, but Lunkosh had gone far beyond that limit.

It was true that he could control dinosaurs, and while doing so, he was shooting them at ease. But as time passed, his energy started depleting. Unfortunately, he didn't have the liquid that replenished his mind's energy.

Over time, his hold on the dinosaurs' minds weakened due to lack of energy, and by the time he realized it, he had become a meal for a massive dinosaur."

Kabir said, "I'm sorry to hear about your assistant's tragic death." Dalka replied, "What can be done? It happened, and I never found such an assistant again. All I have left is his camera, which I found in the jungle."

Kabir and Veer looked at the camera, which seemed very different, with advanced technology. Kabir asked Dalka, "What do you call this camera in your language?" Dalka responded, "What difference does it make?" Kabir said, "I mean, how do you make it? It can cover a 360-degree area, gives such a clear view, and is so lightweight. I LOVE THIS TECHNOLOGY."

They spent a long time testing the camera in the room. Kabir asked, "How much does it cost?"

Dalka said, "If you want it, I can get it for you."

Kabir asked, "I have a question." Dalka responded, "Ask." Kabir asked, "You said you can control the minds of dinosaurs, but then you also said that if dinosaurs find out, they will uproot this house, this tree. Why?"

Dalka replied, "As long as I'm near this house, I can protect it, but if I'm far away, the dinosaurs can uproot it if they find out about me being here." Kabir said, "Hmm, that makes sense."

Veer asked, "I have a question too." Dalka said, "Go ahead." Veer asked, "Have you hacked our minds, and how do you control minds?"

Dalka answered, "If I had hacked your mind, you wouldn't be asking me this question right now. But it's not easy to hack minds." Dalka continued, "Our brains are naturally equipped to control others' minds, including dinosaurs'. But we can't control the minds of those who have trained their brains well. And the truth is, the science behind this is still considered a miracle, but we know that miracles are only called miracles until the cause is discovered."

Kabir asked, "Is mind control something that everyone can do in this world?"

Dalka replied, "No, not everyone can do it, but anyone can achieve it. It requires training, which is almost mandatory for everyone because without control over this power, we couldn't survive on this planet. Because here, we must know how to control the minds of other creatures, or survival would be impossible."

Veer asked Dalka, "Can we learn this skill?" Dalka responded, "First of all, it's not a skill; it's a genetic trait that we need to enhance through training. But your brain is far superior to a dinosaur's, so you could probably perform small tricks."

Dalka added, "However, not everyone can access your brain. It took me 10 to 15 seconds to access your mind, so I would say that no one can access your brain easily."

Kabir suddenly thought about their problem and interrupted, asking Dalka, "Mr. Dalka, you know we're in trouble, and you can help us."

Dalka said, "I'd be happy to help, but the question is, what will I get in return?"

Kabir replied, "What do you need? You already have almost everything, and you can control anyone's mind. What could you possibly need?"

Dalka said, "I need something that only you can give. If you agree, I'm ready to help you."

Kabir paused for a moment, thinking, and then said, "Alright, we're ready. If your work is worthy, we'll do it!"

Dalka said, "It's exactly the kind of work for you, that's why I'm asking you."

Kabir said, "Okay, the deal is done."

Veer, filled with numerous questions, asked, "Dalka, one more question. How are you surviving with the dinosaurs?"

Dalka replied, "To answer this, you need to understand our world in depth and see what reasons exist for both of us to coexist. Kabir asked, "What do you mean?"

Dalka replied, "You haven't drunk the liquid. I think if you drink it, some of your questions might be answered on their own."

Kabir asked, "What is this liquid made of?" Dalka said, "It's an energy potion made from various trees."

Kabir closed his eyes and drank the liquid in one go. Veer also closed his nose with one hand, making a face, and drank it.

After drinking the liquid, neither of them felt any immediate change. But soon, they felt a surge of energy within their bodies, and their minds seemed both calm and sharp.

Dalka led Kabir and Veer outside, closed his eyes for a few seconds, and then a flying dinosaur came near them. It was so huge that it seemed the size of an elephant.

At first, both Kabir and Veer were slightly scared of the dinosaur. Dalka said, "Don't worry, this is a herbivorous dinosaur, it won't harm you." They could feel a sense of enthusiasm in their bodies, and their minds were calm yet sharp. Their memory had also become much faster. As the fluid was having its effect, they felt more energized and better.

Kabir, Veer, and Dalka all sat on the flying dinosaur, and it began to soar into the sky.

Dalka asked Kabir and Veer, "Tell me something about your Earth."

Kabir replied, "I thought you might have hacked into our minds and figured it out."

Dalka said, "No, I could only access a few memories, not everything."

Kabir continued, "On our Earth, dinosaurs went extinct about 66 million years ago." Dalka asked, "How?" Kabir then shared the story of how dinosaurs vanished from Earth and how humans came into existence.

Kabir added, "Now tell us about the past of your Earth, because I'm very curious to know about it."

Veer said, "We'd love to know the history of your Earth, and how humans and dinosaurs coexisted here."

The dinosaur was flying high, giving a view of the entire jungle, which was breathtakingly beautiful. Everywhere they looked, there were countless species of dinosaurs. As far as the eye could see, there were only dinosaurs and plants.

Dalka said, "I'll be happy to share about my world. But first, I want to start with the present of this world. I'm sure you'll enjoy it."
