How will Rex survive with his interesting social skills built in the woods with his father, what heights will Rex reach on his path to strength? after all Rex just wants to reach higher this is more of an experiment, I’ve never wrote anything in my life so if I have grammatical errors please feel free to point them out and correct me, I’m more or less correcting stuff and writing as I go I often go back and change things I’ve written aswell. Nethertheless I hope you enjoy my story depending on if anyone actually reads this will depend on if I continue to write this. But even considering all of this I hope you enjoy the story!

Chapter 1 - Change

Walking through the snowed over trail a six foot four male with broad shoulders ,crimson red hair, and a lean yet muscular build was walking with a six foot boy just fifteen years old, the boy also had crimson red hair and a leaner build. Both had clothes made out of hide from some type of artic animal and tough hide shoes to match. This man and boy were Alaric and Rex Balkan. After just finishing their hunt they are now heading back to their wooden cabin after a long day of hunting for some food to eat, "Your archery is still inadequate boy, you need to work on your breath as you release your arrow." Rex scratches the back of his head before saying "I know okay dad, I'm trying my best here. If you didn't make me shoot from so far maybe I'd be able to actually kill somthing". Alaric slaps the back of Rex's head before saying "You don't gain anything from shooting any closer, we don't need any more food at the moment and you need to work on your archery, it's helpful for you to shoot on live targets, we've been over this a thousand times". Rex flashes a smile at his dad "I know dad, I'm getting better atleast. Everytime we do this I get a little more accurate, soon I'll be better than you". Alaric lets out a chuckle, "In your dreams kiddo". After ten minutes of idle conversation and banter they arrived back at the cabin. Alaric reminded Rex to do his nightly workout while he rekindled the fire. They finished off the night with a spar using the wooden swords this time, they change weapons most days of the week, switching from the Bow and arrow, to a spear, two daggers, to a longsword and short sword as well as a Bo staff, they've used many weapons over the years in their spars giving Rex good mastery over all of them, although his favourites are the sword and spear. they made all of these wooden weapons years ago for a fun project. " 1037-0, what a surprise I win once again mhahahaha". Alaric does a dance around the panting Rex bent over on his knees "Shut up dad I'll beat you soon, if you didn't change the way you fought every time we fight I'd be able to beat you I swear." He stated inbetween breaths. "Nobody is going to give you time to memorize how they fight in real life kid, I'm looking out for you by beating your ass every night." Alaric and Rex made they're way inside and went straight to sleep. This has been Rex Balkan's entire life, eat sleep and train with his father Alaric Balkan. Every couple weeks they go to the local village and trade but the rest of their time is spent training and exercising. The next morning Rex asked his father a question, it's a question he's been asking his entire life. " Dad can we go to the mainland". Alaric pauses for a moment before anwsering with a smile, "Ill tell you what boy, in ten days when you turn sixteen and we do our visit to the village you'll instead keep going south and you'll be attending an academy in the capital of Thrugen. I've had you enrolled for a couple months now I just didn't know when to tell you." Rex stared at his father blankly for a bit before jumping up and hugging his dad. " thank you dad! Thank you thank you thank you !" Alaric smiles for a second before pushing Rex away, " alright alright enough, listen boy because what I'm about to tell you is important". Rex stares at his father and nods. " You haven't grown up in a normal society and that's my fault, where your going to be attending there will be royals and nobles, it's important to be polite but I'm warning you now they are stuck up assholes most the time so if they get in your way don't hesitate to crush them". Rex nods at his father before asking " won't they just cause more problems if I retaliate ?" Alaric smiles " Yes that normally would be true but your last name will protect you in from anything too serious, nobody will mess with a boy with the last name Balkan." Rex thinks for a bit before dropping the matter, if his father wanted to tell him more he would. " Alright kiddo we've got a few days of training and then a couple days of travel ahead of us so let's start packing your stuff now".
