By the time Denim came back from his morning run both Alice and Alana had already gone to the mall. Denim went into the shower and got dressed in the clothes that he had bought yesterday and then he sat down on a sofa contemplating wether to trace the house he had saw in his dreams.
" Is there even a need to think about this" he muttered to himself.
The main issue for him now was that he terribly needed money, he was going to train himself for a few years before registering for any academy or going for any try outs. With the experience he had in his past life he knew that joining an academy wasn't always the best choice for a footballer as most of the time they go for collective training when at times you'll need personal and targeted training.
Basically he would need a personal trainer, a dietician and hard work, fortunately this body had a lot of potentials and his experience from his past life was also available to help, this time around he vowed to become the greatest of all time not just any other legend of the game.
Denim checked his time and it was already 9:30am in the morning. About ten minutes later both ladies came in carrying big bags, Denim helped them with the load while both of them where talking and jesting about stuff he didn't even wanna know.
"Hey Denim you're all dressed going somewhere? " Alicia asked.
" Oh so you only dress up when you want to go out right, would you rather I stay naked when I'm in the house with nowhere to go? "
" Nah bro we pass that would be disgusting" Alana added.
" but you do have somewhere your going right" she continued .
" Yeah I wanna check my parents house, they might just be at home right"
"If they're not would you be okay"
"I will be, I promise"
" take and get a taxi for yourself, I bet it's a bit far from here to NJ and please do not let those guys see you. You know what I mean right" she said while handing me a 50 dollar note.
" Yes boss" I replied with a comical salute earning a chuckle from both of them.
" be careful " Alicia chipped in with clear concern evident in her voice.
" Yeah..and you guys thanks alot, I owe you guys alot"
"Run along boy and come back as early as you can for food" Alana said before she started preparing her ingredients.
Denim went out and flagged down a taxi and with a resolved gaze he muttered.
"741 W Redman Ave, Haddonfield, New Jersey".
" Alright son the ride will cost 30 dollars"
"Okay"
The ride went on of well over an hour before the taxi stopped at the front of an house.
After paying the taxi, I went into the house feeling completely nostalgic, I kept praying for a scenario where they would be in the house praying that I would come home, praying to be the one who had gone lost but by the time I stepped into the house I knew they weren't there and the house no longer had a soul, it no longer carried the warmth and affection of a loving family and it was only then that denim confirmed that he was now all alone in this cold world and at that moment he vowed to himself, he had to succeed, he had to stand at the top and even though they weren't exactly his parents he would avenge them when he got to the top.
The charming colonial style home was in a fantastic area of Haddonfield that allows for convenient travel to the downtown in of both Haddonfield and Haddon Heights, it was an house that Denim's dad was exceptionally proud of and this house was probably his biggest achievements ever.
It was a three bedroom family house along with alltic above it, large Florida Room, and ample space in the yard to make it cozy. The house has hardwood floors throughout most of the home. When you walk in the front door, there's the dining by the left and each and every sight he took of the living room brought tears to his face and shards of memories flooded in to his head, memories of younger days, days where he was always smiling and at times crying after his dad had spanked him.
The second floor consists of three sizable bedrooms. And everywhere had been cleaned by only God knows who. Right as he was about to climb through the stairs someone came in through the door, it was a woman, a dark skinned woman and she was looking right into his eyes has he was looking right into hers. She was one of his father's family members called Aunty shade.
" D..enim.. we thought you were...." she stuttered with tears running down her face,
"we were just about to transport your father's body down to Nigeria...ah oluwa oshe..we really thought something had happened to you, I'm coming let me call to book your ticket you're coming with us" she said.
" I....OK what about mum" I initially wanted to refuse but I thought better of it.
" She's has been buried 3 days ago" she answered trying her best to be honest with me Ignoring the fact that I am very young.
She immediately booked the ticket through the call and without futher preparation, I packed some of my clothes upstairs and I went with them to Nigeria where the burial ceremony was going to take place. My fathers family was actually a well to do family. Not the richest In the country but they quite affluent but my dad really didn't relate with them that much and even I don't know a lot of family members and even the ones that I know, I know very little about them. After I had made sure to inform both Alice and Alana, I hopped on the plane.
