Chereads / Knight of Judgement / Chapter 3 - Chap 3: Kasuki

Chapter 3 - Chap 3: Kasuki

"Tch, tch I remember that's the boy who dumped my lunch on my head the other day. He's extremely selfish and self-centered."

"I'm sure since he's the Hero he must be really proud of himself."

Cherub smirked at the awed crowd as he had a smug look on his face. The Duke didn't like him since he saw the Dark aura around the Hero's heart. The Duke sighed and plastered a fake smile on his face.

"The Kingdom welcomes the Hero," the Duke bowed down politely to Cherub. The big grin on Cherub's face didn't disappear as he walked to the side where the other students were.

The only students that were left were Mina, Kasuki and, Zekiel. They all walked to the ball as Mina went first. As she walked to the pedestal, most of the men and women in the hall were stunned by her beauty. The young girl had beautiful light blue hair and sea blue eyes that sparkled with life. And her slim and cute figure always made her eye-catching. She touched the ball as it glowed brightly and her stats were displayed.

"A Reaper??!!" The Duke spoke in a shocked tone.

"Those are people who could be only found by the church," a mage whispered to his brother.

"Aren't they the ones who carry out punishments issued by the church?" Another mage asked silently.

"Yes, yes, there are rumours that their capability is stronger than that of a Divine Knight or even a Hero," another mage answered.

"Have you heard that story that there was once a Hero the church summoned, but he did and killed whoever he wanted and the church got fed up with him."

"They issued their reaper to go and deal with him, and it was a bloody battle. The Hero was not spared one bit. I still remember that bloody scene from 50 years ago when I was a child," another old mage spoke as his memories caused him to shiver and so did the rest of the other mages.

The Duke pays his respects to the Reaper," he bowed politely the same way he did with Cherub, but this time with a genuine smile on his face as he saw the calm blue aura around her.

Mina immediately ran behind Kasuki and clung to him like a little girl.

"Kasuki~ ….this people are scareweee," Mina cried as she looked at her handsome brother. Hah, she never gets tired when looking at that gorgeous face.

"It's fine okay, big bro is here," the Duke was slightly stunned by the Reaper's behavior, but what did he expect? Not all Reapers are evil.

Zekiel then walked to the pedestal as he placed his hands on the ball that shone brightly.

"Hahahahaha, the Duke laughed again after reading the boy's stats, "I didn't think I'd see another Dragon Knight apart from myself. The Duke looked at Zekiel with his clear eyes and said, "Boy, I'll be teaching you the way to fight like a Dragon Knight from now on."

Zekiel had a dumbfounded expression as he looked at the tall Duke and started shaking.

"Kasuki, are we in an anime?" That's the first question Zekiel asked as he started to feel dizzy.

"I don't think so, maybe~," Kasuki replied. He also didn't know whether this is actually reality or it's all a dream.

"Kasuki, I wanna go home and eat rice meatballs," Zekiel cried as he ran to Kasuki and cried on his shoulder, "If we stay here, I'll never get chicken wings again. Who knows if this world actually has chickens."

The Duke was stunned that this lad too ran to the same guy the Reaper ran to. Maybe he would have some amazing stats. The Duke thought to himself as Kasuki finally walked to the pedestal and placed his hand on the ball. Everyone was in awe about the extremely handsome young lad that his beauty can be compared to elves.

The but had no glow as it displayed Kasuki's stats. However, the Duke had a puzzled expression on his face. Before him was the word ERROR. Right there boldly.

"I can't see his stats," the Duke announced as everyone had worried expressions on their face. It wasn't normal to be unable to look at someone's stats and it has never happened before. A person could hide their stats but it would never display the word ERROR.

Kasuki just sighed as he looked at the worried Duke. All the other students too had sad expressions on their faces except for Cherub.

"Sorry lad it seems you do not have a Class," the Duke proclaimed as he patted the boy on his shoulder, but strangely Kasuki wasn't sad at all.

"I never considered myself to be special in any way," Kasuki shrugged as he looked at the Duke with good intentions.

"We can teleport you somewhere so that you can go and explore the world. And don't worry we'll take care of your sister," the Duke stated clearly as he looked at Mina who was almost crying. They could all tell that Mina had an amazing Class yet Kasuki had none.

"Call the mages to prepare the teleport," The Duke instructed a group of men in robed who snorted since were quite angry that they should waste their magic power for this useless person.

Kasuki didn't mind and stepped into the teleportation circle.

"It's good that you're leaving Kasuki. We don't need useless people in the Hero's party after all. And also I'll take good care of Mina chan," Cherub spoke boldly as Mina almost gagged by Cherub's words.

Kasuki, became enraged by Cherub's words, if he tried anything with her he'll beat him to a pulp. As the teleportation light glowed brightly, Mina and Zekiel ran quickly and jumped into the circle as they all disappeared in a flash.

"You fools bring them back at once," the Duke roared as he realized what the Reaper and Dragon Knight had done.

"Sir we can't."

"Why can't you?" The Duke asked as he sensed something was wrong.

"We teleported the boy to the Dungeons of Chaos. We thought you wanted to get rid of him," one mage defended but before he realized his head was slashed by an arc of wind as blood splattered everywhere.

"You fools!!'' The Duke used his foot to hit the ground as chains of ice surrounded half of the chamber. All the mages who teleported Kasuki started to regret their actions.

He just had good intentions for the young boy, since he had a good aura around him. And who would have thought these ignorant mages cared about their pride so much that they sent the boy to his death. Anyone who was transported to the Chaos Dungeon could never come out alive. The Kingdom also lost three powerful youths due to the mage's foolishness.

The entire chamber was filled with a cold and chilling sensation. The King who stood there, had his legs trembling in fear, "Duke Shen please calm down," the King said nervously as he tried to keep calm.

"Since the Reaper and Dragon Knight are gone, there's nothing we can do. We must focus on training the current Hero and his group to be ready to fight the Demons," the King sympathized with the good-hearted Duke, but what is done is done.

The Duke grunted as he walked out of the large chamber and slammed the door behind him. They are all fools, didn't they witness what happened to the princess? 'That boy was hiding something.'

Kusiki woke up grunting as scratched his head. He roughly remembers himself being transported by the mages after Cherub's words. However, he didn't expect that Mina and Zekiel would jump in with him.

Kasuki got up to look round and frowned, didn't the Duke promise him to be teleported somewhere safe but this place gives the aura of death. Luckily their walls of the dark place were glowing so he could slightly see where he was. Kasuki could see a huge dark hall with strange engravings around. Kasuki walked closer to have a better look at this engraving until he heard a 'crunch' sound. He looked below his feet to see human bones scattered everywhere which caused him to tremble slightly. How many people must have died here?

"Where the hell am I?" Kasuki asked as he looked around the void.

[ You are in the Dungeons of Chaos ]

[ A Dungeon created to imprison extremely strong beings of Chaos that surpassed humans and wreaked havoc to the world and we're sealed away by the goddess of Divinity and the god of Light. ]

[ However, this isn't the true story….]

"Then what is the true story," Kasuki asked in anticipation as he wanted to know more about what happened.

[ Diamond's level is too low to know any more information. In order to get more information User must summon his Pearl first.] The system spoke in a robotic male voice.

Kasuki was about to ask this so-called System about how to summon his unknown Pearl when he heard two familiar voices call out to him.

"Kasuki~~," Mina yelled as she ran towards him and just a few feet away was Zekiel who was panting heavily.

"Since when…. could girls run fast...," Zekiel panted as he wiped the sweat off his face and gave Kasuki a bright smile, "Did you think we would leave you alone?"

Kasuki was stunned by his sister and Zekiel's move back then, and they actually landed her with him. This wasn't good.

Kasuki remained quiet as he walked to a large stone and sat on it with a sad and angry look on his face.

Kasuki didn't elaborate on why he was angry, though Mina probably understood. She knew not to press it any further, before saying, "I understand you're angry that we threw ourselves in here with you. I had sensed a feeling of danger when those mages were preparing the transportation circle, so I decided to jump in with you."

Kasuki looked at his sister with a calm face. "Why would I separate from my brother who has struggled to take care of me all these years? Just because I was chosen as a Reaper. So what? Separating from you feels like being poisoned. So are you angry at me brother?"

"I'm not," Kasuki as his smile softened toward Mina, as he reached over to pat the little angel on the head. She adored Kasuki, for his jovial demeanor and for being lighthearted about scenarios.

"Well, the same goes for me. I couldn't bear to see my friend disappear like that. I'm not even interested in this so-called Hero thing," Zekiel pouted as he glanced at the two siblings and they all started laughing.

Kasuki could also be a bit hyperactive, which was probably due to his bad memories of their time with their mother, but he also had a good head on his shoulders. Despite being diminutive and seemingly acting younger than he is, Kasuki could give solid advice from time to time, and sometimes even Zekiel would seek his counsel.

"You're the best, Kasuki," Mina praised her brother with a soft smile before she turned away and flushed prettily. She was starting to get tongue-tied from all the head parts from Kasuki and she wanted to express how much he meant to her. She'll do her best to support her brother wherever they are.
