"Souvenir Poké Ball?"
Hearing Alex's words, Lily and Hannah were both unfamiliar with the term, but they were starting to get used to Alex introducing them to new concepts.
After all, Alex often talked about things that were new to them.
"Boss, what is this Poké Ball for? And how is it a must-have for a Trainer?" Hannah asked, taking the delicate white Poké Ball from Alex's hands. She turned it over curiously, trying to understand its purpose.
What Alex had said earlier was that the Poké Ball was used to capture Pokémon and also served as a resting place for them. But how did it work?
"How can such a big Pokémon fit into this Poké Ball?" she wondered. It seemed impossible.
"It's hard to explain everything right now, but I can tell you that a Pokémon truly becomes yours only when you capture it with a Poké Ball," Alex explained. "Also, Charmander and Squirtle are small now, but as they grow, they won't be as petite as they are currently."
"So having them in Poké Balls is essential."
Alex smiled as he explained, knowing that Blastoise and Charizard's standard heights were comparable to an adult human male, and that was just their average size. With good nutrition and care, they would grow even larger, making it cumbersome to carry them around without Poké Balls.
"But how is this used?" Lily asked, trusting Alex's words but still puzzled.
"The Poké Ball in your hands is empty. Try throwing it at your Pokémon," Alex suggested.
Lily and Hannah exchanged puzzled looks but decided to give it a try. They threw the Premier Balls at Charmander and Squirtle.
Instantly, the eyes of the two girls widened in shock.
The moment the Premier Balls touched the Pokémon, they opened up, wrapping Charmander and Squirtle in red light before absorbing them into the balls.
It was an astonishing sight, leaving Hannah with her mouth agape in disbelief.
"Wow, what just happened?"
After capturing the Pokémon, the indicator light in the center of the Premier Balls flashed slowly.
One, two, three...
Ding!
After a crisp sound, the Premier Balls fell to the ground and settled.
"It seems to have worked smoothly, which means Squirtle and Charmander have fully accepted you," Alex said calmly, smiling as he watched the scene.
"No... Boss, what is this?!!" Hannah exclaimed, still trying to process what had happened.
"Ah, this..." Alex said, appearing a bit sheepish.
Clearly, the two girls were not taking the revelation calmly.
This was unbelievable! How could a ball hold two such large creatures? Was this magic?
"There's no need to be so shocked. The Poké Ball is just like that," Alex said, raising an eyebrow. Indeed, Poké Ball technology was quite astounding to people in this world...
After all, it wasn't scientific at all for a living creature to turn into light and fit into such a small Poké Ball. Who would believe it?
"But this is too..." Lily said, still staring at the Premier Ball on the ground, trying to comprehend what had just happened.
What kind of technology was this? Bio-loading? Or warp technology? It seemed so illogical.
"Boss, are you really an alien?" Hannah asked, calming her frantic heart and looking at Alex skeptically.
"You're the alien, and your whole family is aliens," Alex retorted with a hint of humor.
"It doesn't seem like it," Hannah said, blinking as she playfully tapped Alex's face with her finger. His body temperature was normal, and his skin felt real.
"Miss Hannah, although you are a guest, I must remind you that it is rude to touch someone without their consent," Alex said, though not too seriously.
"If you touch it, you won't lose a piece of meat. Do you know how many boys at school want to touch my hand? I don't even bother looking at them!" Hannah pouted, muttering under her breath. So stingy.
"Hmmmm," Alex agreed absently.
What did she mean by that? Hannah thought, staring at Alex. His dismissive tone and expression were so perfunctory.
Do you know I was almost voted the school beauty this year? Do you know how long the line of people wanting to date me is?
You don't know, and you just dismiss me! You don't even look at me properly!
How infuriating!
"I still can't wrap my head around it. Boss, did you invent this black technology yourself?" Lily asked, not even giving her best friend a chance to retort, as she picked up the Premier Ball and examined it. Pressing the button in the center, the Premier Ball activated again.
White light shot out, and Squirtle reappeared, leaving Lily awestruck by the Premier Ball in her hand.
Wow, this is amazing, isn't it?
"No, you'll find out later," Alex said, shaking his head. Some technologies in the Pokémon world were indeed too advanced for this world.
Poké Ball technology, space backpack technology, Poké Ball teleportation technology, and more.
After all, the technology in the Pokémon world was highly advanced, particularly in the ultra-large metropolis in Ultra Space.
The humans of the Ultra Metropolis even used technology to deprive Ultra Necrozma of its light and suppress it in the Ultra Metropolis Tower.
What kind of concept is that?
That's Necrozma, an absolute pinnacle of power in the Pokémon world!
But it was precisely because the ancestors of the Ultra Metropolis people took away Necrozma's light and imprisoned it that their world lost its light, causing it to wither and face extinction.
It was a tragic consequence, but unfortunately, it was their descendants who bore this sin.
"But with this, you can really carry Charmander and Squirtle with you," Lily said, deciding not to press the subject further. The mysterious shop and its mysterious owner had already become an accepted part of her understanding.
Hannah put Trapinch into another Poké Ball to capture it, then released her two Pokémon, smiling with satisfaction.
Seeing the two girls so pleased, Alex also smiled. It was a good start.
