Chapter 1 - Prologue

The Great Unified Plane was conceived over a billion years ago, born from a desperate realization among the Humanoid races: their survival hinged on unity in the face of an overwhelming threat. The Aythymids, an insectoid race known for their relentless breeding and sheer ferocity, posed an existential danger that the disparate humanoid factions could no longer combat individually. Their queens wielded the terrifying ability to spawn warriors of every cultivation level up to the formidable threshold of Heavenly Immortal, creating a near-unstoppable tide of soldiers. Each queen was a powerhouse in her own right, while also amplifying the strength of Titled Immortal Emperors, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of their armies.

The conflict escalated into the Second Great Immortal War, a cataclysmic clash marked by staggering numbers. Trillions of Aythymids surged forth, a relentless wave of chitinous bodies that swept across the cosmos, targeting the humanoid worlds with ruthless efficiency. Entire planets became battlegrounds, their surfaces scorched and rendered to glass as the Aythymids unleashed their devastating assault.

In the face of overwhelming odds during the Second Great Immortal War, six revered figures known as the Holy Saint Immortals convened to forge a desperate plan to save their people from the relentless onslaught of the Aythymids. These immortal beings, each a paragon of strength and wisdom, understood that the survival of their races depended not just on military might but also on creating a new sanctuary where they could regroup, cultivate their powers, and thrive away from the chaos of war.

Harnessing their immense powers, the Holy Saint Immortals combined their unique abilities to weave a tapestry of reality, giving birth to a new plane of existence—an ethereal realm that functioned almost like its own universe. This plane was a masterpiece of celestial engineering, marked by vibrant landscapes, bountiful resources, and protective barriers that shielded its inhabitants from external threats. The very fabric of this new reality pulsed with their combined essence, imbuing it with an aura of safety and potential.

Recognizing the importance of structure in this newfound haven, the Saint Immortals divided the plane into six distinct regions, each tailored to reflect their unique strengths and philosophies. These regions were not merely geographical divisions; they were sanctuaries where the descendants of the Immortals could flourish, each area nurturing specific traits and abilities aligned with the essence of its creator.

By assigning their descendants to these carefully crafted regions, the Holy Saint Immortals ensured that each lineage could develop its unique identity and strengths, fostering a sense of community and purpose. This strategic division not only provided a sanctuary but also laid the groundwork for a new society, one that would eventually rise to reclaim their places in the cosmos and challenge the Aythymid menace once more. In this new plane of existence, hope blossomed amid despair, setting the stage for a resurgence that would echo through the annals of history.

The Jukan Region, a vibrant expanse within the newly formed plane of existence, was designated as the sanctuary for humanity by the human Holy Saint Immortal. This region was characterized by its lush landscapes, majestic mountains, and fertile valleys, providing an ideal environment for the human descendants to thrive. For an astonishing 900 million years, the Jukan Region flourished under the governance of various Imperial Royal families, each contributing to the rich tapestry of its history and culture.

The most recent of these dynasties was the illustrious Shang Clan, whose rise to power was marked by political cunning, military might, and a deep-rooted connection to the mystical energies of the Jukan Region. For the past 100,000 years, the Shang Clan was ruled by the formidable Emperor He Xaun Shang, a figure revered and feared in equal measure. His reign was characterized by an iron-fisted approach to governance, where order and discipline were paramount. Under his leadership, the Jukan Region experienced both prosperity and oppression.

Emperor He Xaun Shang was not only a ruler but also a powerful cultivator, having attained the esteemed Emperor Realm. His prowess in martial arts and mastery of elemental energies made him a nearly invincible force. His presence alone commanded respect, and his formidable reputation ensured that dissent was rare. The Emperor surrounded himself with a cadre of loyal advisors and elite warriors, many of whom were King-ranked cultivators—individuals who had achieved remarkable levels of power and skill. These champions acted as both enforcers and protectors of the Shang Clan, ensuring that the Emperor's will was executed without question.

Despite the Shang Clan's dominance, their rule was not without controversy. The Emperor's harsh policies and relentless expansionist agenda created a host of enemies among neighboring clans and factions. Many resented the Shang Clan's authoritarian grip on power, yet fear held them in check. The threat of the Emperor's wrath, combined with the might of his loyal cultivators, deterred even the most ambitious challengers from openly opposing his reign.

However, the stability of the Jukan Region was shattered when Emperor He Xaun Shang, in his relentless pursuit of power and immortality, embarked on a dangerous quest to break through the barriers of the Immortal Realm. This endeavor, fraught with peril and uncertainty, would demand everything from him. The Emperor sought out ancient texts and powerful artifacts, believing that the secrets to immortality lay within reach. His ambition, while inspiring to some, was perceived as reckless by others who understood the risks involved.

Tragically, during this fateful attempt, the Emperor was met with unforeseen challenges. The rituals he performed and the energies he attempted to harness overwhelmed him, leading to an explosive culmination of power that resulted in his death. The news of his demise sent shockwaves throughout the Jukan Region, plunging the once-unshakeable empire into chaos and uncertainty.

In the aftermath of Emperor He Xaun Shang's passing, the delicate balance of power began to unravel. The numerous King-ranked cultivators who had once rallied behind the Emperor found themselves at a crossroads, faced with competing ambitions and the potential for civil strife. The clans that had remained silent under the Emperor's reign now saw an opportunity to rise against the Shang Clan, emboldened by the absence of their formidable leader.

As factions emerged and rivalries intensified, the Jukan Region faced a new era of strife and conflict. The fall of the Shang Clan marked the beginning of a tumultuous chapter in the history of the Jukan Region, as the descendants of humanity grappled with the consequences of their leaders' actions and the uncertain future that lay ahead. The legacy of Emperor He Xaun Shang, once a symbol of strength and stability, now loomed over the region as a haunting reminder of the fragility of power and the ever-present quest for immortality.

He Lang Shang, the thirteenth-ranked among the fallen Emperor's progeny, found herself in a desperate situation as she orchestrated a daring escape from the heart of the Jukan region. With a fierce determination to protect her son and the loyal servants who had stood by her family, she navigated through the chaos that ensued after the downfall of her lineage.

As the sounds of battle echoed in the distance, her husband valiantly faced the relentless pursuers, wielding both sword and shield in a desperate effort to buy time for her escape. He fought bravely, his heart filled with the hope that his family would survive, even as the odds were stacked against him. Tragically, during the fierce melee that ensued, he ultimately lost his life, his sacrifice echoing with a heavy weight of loss that would haunt her forever.

In the aftermath of the turmoil, He Lang Shang, her heart heavy with grief yet fueled by the fierce love for her son, made her way to a secluded and remote part of the Jukan region. This hidden sanctuary, far from the prying eyes of enemies and the remnants of their former glory, offered her a sliver of hope. It was here, in the quiet isolation of the wilderness, that she resolved to rebuild her once-mighty clan. Drawing strength from the memory of her husband's bravery and the bonds of loyalty among her servants, she set about laying the foundations for a new beginning.

With each passing day, He Lang Shang worked tirelessly to restore the legacy of her family. She gathered resources, forged alliances with the few remaining loyalists, and instilled a sense of purpose among her followers. Her vision was clear: to reclaim their rightful place in the world and ensure that her son would one day inherit a clan that was not just a shadow of its former self, but a beacon of resilience and strength. Through her unwavering resolve and strategic wisdom, she began to weave the threads of a new destiny for her clan amidst the remnants of their past.

For five millennia, she toiled relentlessly, pouring her heart and soul into the pursuit of power and mastery over the cultivation resources that lay scattered across the region. She traversed treacherous landscapes, from the mist-shrouded mountains to the depths of forgotten caves, seeking rare herbs, potent elixirs, and the wisdom of long-lost sages.

Every day was a trial—she faced formidable beasts, rival cultivators, and the haunting echoes of her own doubts. Yet, her determination never wavered. She forged alliances with powerful clans, studied ancient texts, and honed her skills in the arts of combat and spiritual enlightenment. With each passing century, her power grew, and she meticulously laid the groundwork for her ascension, all the while dreaming of the day she would claim her rightful title as Empress of the Region.

Her ambition was not just for personal glory; she envisioned a region united under her rule, a place where harmony reigned, and the people thrived. She sought to be a beacon of hope and strength, guiding those who followed her on their own paths of cultivation and enlightenment.

However, on one fateful night, as the stars gleamed brightly in the sky and the air was thick with the promise of change, a sudden, inexplicable darkness enveloped her. In that quiet moment, her essence was snuffed out like a candle in the wind, leaving behind an empty vessel. In its place, another soul surged forth, taking possession of her body, inheriting not only her memories but also the burdens of her ambitions and dreams.

This new entity, thrust into an existence laden with the weight of thousands of years of aspirations, now faced the daunting task of grappling with the legacy of the woman who had come before. Would she continue the quest for power and ascend to the Emperor Realm, or would she carve her own path, forever altered by the echoes of a life once lived? The night was still, but the air crackled with the potential for both conflict and transformation.
