Chapter 6 - Chapter 6

"Try it and see if you like it. I added some coarse salt," Amo said, handing the grilled meat to Silu, glancing at her to see if she liked the way it turned out.

"I'll try it," Silu responded eagerly.

It was her first time eating grilled meat here, and as she took a bite, a bit of oil oozed out. The outside was crispy, while the inside was tender, just as it should be. She didn't know why, but the meat from these wild beasts tasted incredibly fresh and tender. The salt was perfectly balanced too.

"Wow, it's really good! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, you're amazing!" Silu praised, munching away happily. She felt thoroughly satisfied.

Actually, this kind of life was quite enjoyable.

"Amo, tell me more about your land. I come from a very distant tribe, so I'm really unfamiliar with this place," Silu said. She looked at Amo with a hint of gratitude. "I'm so lucky to have met you after getting separated from my tribe."

"I can tell you're different from the other beastmen here. You must be from a big tribe, right? This is the Beastman Continent and the Beastman Forest. It's vast, and there are many beastmen, tribes, and species here. The Beastman Forest is huge, and not many beastmen venture beyond it!" Amo explained.

"In the forest, there are not only beastmen from our tribe, but also many rogue beasts. They are incredibly dangerous and are considered outcasts by the sacred beasts. They don't value females, and they kill, steal, and torture them. So, don't wander off on your own, alright?"

"The forest is dangerous outside the tribe. Females are weak and timid, and it's hard for them to survive on their own. You can go anywhere you want, just tell me, but please don't wander off by yourself out of curiosity," Amo warned seriously. He was concerned that Silu might not understand the risks and might get too curious about the outside world.

"I understand. Don't worry, I won't run off," Silu reassured him. "By the way, I saw a blue light on your hand when you were dealing with the wild beasts earlier. What was that?"

Amo smiled and raised his hand, showing his long fingers. He swiped his hand through the air, and a piece of dry wood nearby was instantly cut in half by a blade of wind.

"This is Wind Blade," Amo explained. "It's a blade made of wind. Pretty impressive, right?"

Silu was stunned. "It's amazing! Is it a kind of supernatural power?"

"Yes, it's my talent. I have a wind attribute, which I can use for attacks. I'm also very fast. I'm one of the rare blue-tier warriors in the tribe, one of the strongest young males in the tribe," Amo said proudly.

"Blue-tier? What's that?" Silu asked, curious. "Is there a ranking system for strength?"

"The Beastman Forest has seven tiers: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. I'm a blue-tier warrior. The clan leader, my father, has a soil attribute, and only we two have supernatural attributes in the tribe. There are many strong warriors, but very few with supernatural attributes," Amo explained seriously while tending to the grilling meat. The sizzling sound of fat dripping into the fire filled the air as the smell of cooked meat spread.

"Supernatural attributes are incredible. But what about females? Do they have strength, or do they have supernatural attributes?" Silu asked, intrigued.

"Females?" Amo looked at Silu with a trace of confusion in his eyes. "You really don't know? Didn't your tribe protect you too well? This is basic knowledge. Females don't have supernatural attributes. It's hard for them to gain strength. Most of them are ordinary, though there are rare exceptions."

Silu felt a little disappointed after hearing this. "Why are the males so powerful, but the females are just ordinary?"

Amo looked at her with determination in his eyes. "Don't worry, you have me. I will protect you. Females rely on their mates for protection."

He then handed her more grilled meat, smiling.

Silu took the meat and looked at Amo's steady gaze. She nodded, feeling reassured.

[Host, don't feel down. If you complete your mission and bear a child for the talented male, you will receive many unexpected rewards and benefits. You may even get the power you want!]

[As long as we work hard and have children, we can get everything!]

The system's voice rang cheerfully in Silu's mind.

Her eyes brightened. "Right! With the system, everything will be fine. Having children, more children, hehe, more blessings!"

Filled with determination, she thought to herself that everything would be fine if she had children.

"By the way, am I pregnant with Amo's child now?" Silu asked the system quietly in her mind.

They had already mated, and she had taken the pregnancy pills, so…

[Yes, you're pregnant. In about three months, you'll give birth to the child. Of course, the time of pregnancy depends on the male's talent. It's usually about three months.]

[Good luck, Host!]

The system's voice was happy and excited.

Silu felt thrilled. "That's fast! Three months isn't long at all! I can handle that."

Human pregnancies last ten months, but for deer, the gestation period is around seven to eight months. If it's only three months, that's a lot easier. No news could be better.

"What's the matter, Silu?" Amo asked, noticing how her mood had shifted from down to upbeat.

"It's nothing, just thinking of something happy," Silu replied with a bright smile. She decided not to tell Amo about her pregnancy just yet. It would be better to wait at least half a month before telling him.

"Come on, tell me what's making you happy," Amo urged, his heart racing as he looked at Silu's sweet smile.

Thinking of the night before, when she had been shy in front of him, Amo felt a growing warmth and desire inside him. No wonder the males with mates were so obsessed with such things. Having experienced it, he was already hooked.
