With that thought a small chuckle escaped my mouth. 'I suppose I can let go of that, it's just a name and I suppose a given name is more heartfelt than just being seen as a system'
Humans truly are fascinating, such diverse personalities living in a tight nit community unanimously agreeing to follow laws, and when all have an equal threat they even manage to put differences aside? Incredible.
Recently we got our hands on a new planet, Earth, the planet that these creatures inhabit. I've been studying the lives of these humans for a while now, they're so fascinating.
We were given the ability to become a 'system' for these creatures, and through this we could have a mutually beneficial relationship. I decided to be a quest system since I specialised in all sorts of potions and effects, the spoils of Earth could help me make more fascinating discoveries and a larger diversity if brews.
Now as to how I found Marie, well it was by chance. I was watching 'The incident' and just decided to follow the trajectory of one of the survivors, and she just happened to be that survivor's kin.
She's a botanist, in a way a perfect fit for someone like me to handle, and I do have an elixir that could cure her brother. Though I only realised how low her rank is after I already attached myself to her since we're not able to view the abilities of humans without them being our 'master'. Due to this, after my lovely naming ceremony when I became the system called 'Daisy', I decided to go straight into updating myself to suit her needs.
She gets easily hurt and she doesn't even have any qualifications to get to the zones with the required plants for the quests I provided at first.
I first decided to add on the severity effect that she thought of and then I went to my quest rewards.
I thought I was being lenient but...
"She literally has no prior training in anything that could get her into the zones".
I'm not a level up system or a system that can just straight up give someone supernatural abilities.
I slammed my head on the wall, now I've learned a skill from her instead. Unfortunately I don't have a system that could heal me, at least my skull is thick.
'Sigh'
Why did I even want to do this anyways?
Maybe I should've been a level up system, that way I could... No, no I wouldn't get anything of benefit that way.
Tapping my finger on my forearm, I descended into deep thought.
" Flowers... Flowers.... Plants... Green.... Flowers... Uh... Hmmm"
'I guess this could work, although for a while I'd be at a major disadvantage'
I decided, I'll give her a gift through one of my potions. She already is a master of her botany, from that I could make an attribute potion that could make her a mage of flora.
'That does seem like the best idea, and that would allow me to make the rewards more evenly spaced, a vial of a gift, a few seeds from a similar planet so she can adapt her new powers to more than earth plants and then she'll be able to actually do something!'
I felt like a genius, I'm getting what I want, I can even get carefully cultivated plants of a plant mage in return for leveling up vials and she'll get closer to curing her brother.
Although... how long will this all take? How should I order these ranks now and will her short lifespan allow her to get the vial? She is 26 so she isn't exactly old, but due to her lifespan and not yet any useful abilities, leveling up might take a long time.
'Should I just give her a portion of an extended lifespan? No... no maybe I should just conceal the rewards that she's not the rank off so I can alter it if need be and she just won't know! '
"Yes yes this is perfect!'
I started applying the new effects to my system, the free rewards will be the flora mage vial and a few seeds from a similar planet so she can practice her power. I may not be a level up system but even without my help, I'm sure she will grow, albeit slowly. And if need be, I can brew up some potions to advance her gift, making these type of potions isn't really troublesome either, and they could be quest rewards as well.

'Hmmm, this'll take a while, I hope she doesn't do anything stupidly lethal in the update time, I can't interact with her during it.'
With that thought, I left the system space With a final glance at the screen,

I returned to my home and decided to look for promising rewards for my chosen one. Who knows, maybe I'll find something here that'll suit her even better than the things I've already planned for her.
