"Run! Get out of here!" a woman's voice screams.
I can feel the grass between my hands. The wind blew against my face. "Death?" I asked the cloaked figure next to me. "Yes, human?" I looked at the running river. How do you handle this?" I asked Death. Let me ask you a question, human. What do you see?" I could feel the area changing, and in front of me was a family I knew all too well. How can I forget about the same family that took me in? I can see my father hugging my crying sister.
The same sister who held and fed me when I fell, the sister who melded my heart after my first heartbreak. I can see my bigger brother having a sword against these monsters. "Do you remember who you were before you were torn apart?" Death asks, "You protect you till your final breath. That's why I exist. I simply handle this to stop the suffering." Death looks at me and places their cold hand on my shoulder. "Life creates. She loves her creations," they look up. "My job is to continue their chapter no matter what happens simply."
I remember it.
The smoke from the houses builds up. The screams from the people as they got massacred by the monsters. I was running, holding my arm, or lack of arm, trying to get to my sister.
"Why did this happen, Death?" I can feel the bloodlust coming from Death. "Because of your so-called gods." They spat out, "They simply got bored and wanted to start over." "Oh, I see." I didn't know what to say. The same Gods we worship are destroying up because they got bored. How was I supposed to respond to that? "Who exactly chose to kill us?" Death snorts. "It will be easier to say who didn't agree to the destruction of your world." The world changes again to a land filled with the dead. 'This must be where spirits walk around.'
"Remember, names have power. Don't ever forget this. But to answer your question, Life, The Sea, War, Love, Wisdom, Sun, and Moon, along with I wish for you to live while Blacksmith didn't vote everyone else called for your blood." I look at Death, confused. "Why would War care about us humans?" Death chuckles. "No humans means no war. They don't want it to mean they won't exist anymore. They would still live but be as powerful as a demigod. Most monsters don't know peace to answer your unasked question." I nod, acting like I understand.
"Why am I being told this Death?" I ask one of the eldest beings. "Simple Mother requested her family to rewind time before you say anything. They enjoy human plays with humans dead; they cant watch the plays." I can feel my mind blank, which is weird since I am dead. I can feel my body waking as I push my dead weight from the ground. I can feel several eyes looking at me. "Who are you? What is going on here? Who am I?" a woman with silver eyes and pale skin facepalms. "This will be the hero who saves us?"
