Chapter -45.
While Lester and the other inmates were locked in a fierce struggle on the second basement level of the Ministry of Magic, every department within the Ministry received a warning about the attack initiated by the Azkaban prisoners.
In a flash, all the Aurors stationed outside the Ministry were ordered to return immediately.
At the same time, departments on different floors were alerted to the prisoners' assault. Each department, under the leadership of its top officials, began to construct defensive measures on their respective floors.
During this frantic time, pureblood officials within the Ministry sprang into action, efficiently and rapidly setting up numerous defensive shelters on the third basement level. Many wands were directed at the exits of the safe passages, ready to unleash a swift attack at the first sign of a prisoner.
Just when these officials felt they had the situation under control and were waiting for all the Aurors to return in order to unite against the prisoners, Lester, on the second basement level, initiated his plan.
"Protego Diabolica!"
As Lester softly uttered the spell, the once rampant blue flames in the Department of Magical Games and Sports stopped advancing and began to erode the floor beneath them.
Nothing—neither strong steel nor valuable magical materials—could withstand Lester's fierce fire; it only brought destruction.
Boom!!!
With a tremendous crash, the floor in the west section of the Department of Magical Games and Sports eroded into a massive hole.
A cloud of dust burst forth as the second-floor floor collapsed due to the fire's relentless assault.
All the prisoners on the second floor unexpectedly plummeted to the underground third floor, where the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes is located. At that moment, all Ministry of Magic officials capable of wielding wands were on high alert, preparing to face the prisoners' arrival.
However, they never imagined the prisoners would choose to burn through the floor and drop down from above!
As the debris fell, many officials on the third floor were directly trapped beneath the rubble.
Simultaneously, the prisoners skilled in dark magic landed and immediately unleashed several killing curses towards the pureblood officials.
"Avada Kedavra!!!"
Amidst the swirling smoke, a multitude of terrifying green killing curses shot swiftly towards the pureblood officials.
Fortunately, the makeshift fortifications they had erected in advance helped absorb many of the fatal attacks. Still, some unfortunate individuals fell victim to the killing curses.
The attack wasn't exclusively from the ordinary prisoners; the newly arrived Lester swung his wand, conjuring a gigantic fire python that charged through the defenses of the pureblood officials. This towering creature, dozens of meters high, was a devastating weapon in such a confined space; a single swipe of its tail could claim dozens of lives.

Suddenly, the powerful Lester amassed a monumental amount of fear value, reaching a remarkable amount reaching near a million mark!
Witnessing Lester's formidable presence, the other prisoners became emboldened, casting various vicious dark spells from their wands. Only Bagman, at the forefront of the chaos, stood conflicted in his prison garb, holding a wand.
If he were to attack his former colleagues in the Ministry, it would surely be wrong. But if he turned on the prisoners who had just placed their trust in him, wouldn't that spell his doom?
Just as Bagman grappled with this dilemma, a green killing curse narrowly zipped past his ear, sending a chill down his spine. The spell missed the dazed Bagman and struck another prisoner standing behind him. The fierce energy sent this prisoner flying, with the shockwave knocking others down as well.
"Damn, they actually lifted the restrictions on the unforgivable curses!" Bagman snapped back to reality and immediately dove for cover among the nearby rubble. The Ministry officials would surely not respond by recklessly using only disarming spells against the prisoners' relentless killing curses.
In fact, under such extraordinary circumstances, the Ministry would issue a decree allowing wizards to freely cast unforgivable curses, including the killing curse, without facing repercussions for a limited time.
It's essential to understand that the pureblood families wield control over the entire magical world, not only due to their extensive connections but also because of the immense resources available to them. Although these officials lived in luxury, their magical powers far surpassed those of ordinary wizards, thanks to these abundant resources.
Moreover, compared to Lester's group of prisoners, who had turned to dark magic out of desperation, these pureblood nobles, with their ancestral legacies, were the true dark wizards. After all, if a family lacked a few powerful spells up its sleeve, it would likely have been lost to history long ago, leaving no room for inheritance.
"Anima Devorabit!"
"Ignis emersit!"
"Confringo!"
A variety of dark magic spells, some of them unfamiliar or never before mentioned in the original tales, continuously shot from the wands of the pureblood officials.
With the Ministry of Magic officials launching their counterattacks, the scale of the battle rapidly intensified. Notably, a pureblood wizard wielding a soul-capturing spell glared menacingly at the prisoners, and instantly, one of them, as if entranced, mindlessly rushed to the battlefield's center.
It was all too clear what would follow; as soon as he entered the fray, that controlled prisoner was swiftly torn apart by vicious spells, blood spraying across the hall.
The leaky roof coincided with the rain outside; the fiery giant python, under Lester's control, rampaged through the pureblood camp. After enduring countless death curses, it let out a mournful cry before exploding dramatically within the ranks.
The scattered flames quickly ignited in all directions, claiming several pureblood wizards.

Unfortunately, this attack, while claiming a few pureblood lives, made little impact on the larger battle situation.
Meanwhile, the steady sound of footsteps echoed from above!
