The voice on the other end of the line was familiar, but not one that Isabella wanted to hear.
"Isabella," a man's voice said coldly.
"It's been a while."
"You..?"
The man chuckled darkly, his voice sending a shiver down Isabella's spine.
"Yes," he said simply.
"It's me."
The man chuckled again, clearly enjoying the fact that he was scaring her.
"You know who I am," he said quietly.
"Don't play dumb with me."
The man on the other end of the line was silent for a moment before letting out a low growl.
"You're still as stubborn as ever," he hissed.
"But I guess that's one of the things I always liked about you."
Isabella felt a cold stare from Chozen who looked like he was about to lock her up and keep her in a tall tower.
Isabella cleared her throat she honestly didn't know who this caller is.
"Who are you?" Isabella asked coldly.
The man on the other end of the line chuckled darkly, clearly enjoying the fact that he was scaring her.
"You really don't remember me?" he asked, his voice low and dangerous.
"After everything we've been through?"
"Asher Fire," Isabella mumbled coldly. Chozen looked at Isabella he has heard of that guy his an heir of a mafia gang. How does Isabella have connections with those people? Chozen became colder and colder. Isabella avoided Chozen eyes at all time.
The man on the other end of the line chuckled again, clearly pleased that she remembered his name.
"Ah, so you do remember me," he said with a smirk.
"I'm glad you haven't forgotten me completely."
"How the fuck did you get my number?" Isabella asked coldly.
The man chuckled again, clearly enjoying the fact that he had gotten under her skin.
"I have my ways," he said cryptically.
"But let's just say I've been keeping an eye on you for a while now."
Isabella's eyes widened in surprise. "Keeping an eye on me? What do you mean?"
She took another step back, feeling a chill run down her spine. The thought of someone watching her without her knowledge was unsettling.
"Asher, you need to back off you and I are no longer dating," Isabella hissed out. Shutter Isabella eyes widen when she saw Chozen broke a glass with his bare hands.
"You think you can just walk away from me?" he hissed, his voice rising in anger.
"You're mine, you belong to me."
The man's words sent chills down Isabella's spine. She glanced over at Chozen again, who was still staring at her with cold eyes. He looked ready to explode.
Isabella's heart raced as the man continued to glare at her.
"I'm not yours," she said firmly, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I belong to no one."
She could feel Chozen's gaze on her and she knew that he was listening intently.
The man's eyes darkened with anger as he heard her words.
"You belong to me," he repeated, his voice low and dangerous.
"And I'm not going to let you go that easily. I heard you will return to college my little Bella no matter what you will be mine."
"Asher you damn well know my temper the best anger me and trust me Phoenix Grial University will be the place you and I have countless battles," Isabella hissed out,
Asher's face twisted into a sneer at the mention of Phoenix Grial University.
"Oh really?" he said mockingly.
"You think you can handle me there?"
He let out a cold laugh before continuing.
"I'll make sure you regret ever setting foot on that campus."
Isabella's blood boiled at his threat. The idea of him trying to hurt her or anyone else in Phoenix Grial University was unacceptable.
"You try anything," she warned through gritted teeth,.
"and you'll regret it."
She glanced over at Chozen again and saw that he looked ready to intervene if necessary.
Asher's eyes flicked on the screen it seemed like Isabella changed it into FaceTime mode without thinking.
"Who the hell is that?" he asked with a sneer.
He looked back at Isabella, a cruel smile on his face.
"You got yourself some backup now? How cute."
Isabella's heart raced as Asher looked at Chozen on the screen. She could feel his gaze burning into her.
"That's none of your business," she said coldly.
Chozen was still standing nearby, his eyes fixed on Asher with a look that could kill.
Asher chuckled darkly.
"Oh it's very much my business," he said with a smirk.
"Because I don't like seeing you with anyone else."
He looked at Chozen again and his expression darkened.
"Whoever that is better watch himself."
"Oh?" Chozen finally said as he took the metal stick from Isabella hand and looked at the person who was on the other side of the screen.
Asher's eyes widened slightly when he saw Chozen speak.
"Who the hell are you?" he asked coldly.
He was clearly not used to someone talking back to him like that.
"Chozen Beaufort," Chozen said he only needed to say his last name and it will already send people running but the name Chozen strike fear in many people hearts in the underworld criminal grounds.
Asher's eyes widened even further as he heard Chozen's name.
"Beaufort?" he repeated, his voice suddenly losing some of its bravado.
He knew exactly who the Beauforts were and what they were capable of.
Asher's expression darkened as he realized who Chozen was.
"You're a Beaufort," he said through gritted teeth.
He looked back at Isabella, his eyes filled with anger and jealousy.
"Oh did you not hear my first name? Chozen Beaufort," he said slowly.
Asher's face paled as he realized the full extent of who Chozen was. He knew that crossing a Beaufort was not something to be taken lightly.
"I…I heard you," he said, his voice suddenly quieter.
He looked at Isabella again, his eyes filled with a mixture of anger and fear.
Asher swallowed hard, his mind racing as he tried to think of a way out of this situation.
"Listen," he said quickly.
"I didn't know she was…" he paused
"yours."
Chozen's expression remained cold and unreadable.
"It doesn't matter if you knew or not," he said quietly.
"You've already made a mistake by calling her."
He leaned in slightly towards the screen.
Asher's eyes widened as Chozen leaned in closer to the screen.
"I-I was just…" he stuttered, his voice faltering.
He knew that trying to explain himself wouldn't do any good. He had already crossed a line by calling Isabella.
Chozen's eyes narrowed as he looked at Asher.
"You just what?" he asked coldly. "Thought you could claim her as yours?"
He chuckled darkly.
"That's not how things work here."
Asher was silent for a moment, clearly surprised by Chozen's sudden interjection.
"And who the hell are you?" he asked coldly.
"Her new boyfriend or something?"
Chozen's expression darkened at the question.
"I'm not just her boyfriend," he said quietly.
He paused for a moment, letting the words hang in the air before continuing.
"I'm much more than that."
Isabella choked on her apple juice what is Chozen trying to start up now!?
Chozen leaned in even closer to the screen, his eyes boring into Asher's.
"It means that she belongs to me," he said firmly.
"And I don't take kindly to people trying to claim what's mine."
Asher's expression darkened as he heard Chozen's words.
"You can't just claim her like that," he protested weakly.
He knew he was in no position to argue, but he couldn't help himself.
Chozen chuckled darkly.
"Oh, but I can," he said quietly.
"And I have."
He looked over at Isabella, his eyes softening for a moment before turning back to the screen.
Isabella grabbed her Lexeni phone she hanged up and blocked the number she put her Lexeni phone behind her pocket and she started eating her breakfast.
Asher's face twisted in anger as the call ended abruptly. He tried calling back but was met with the sound of a busy signal.
"Damn it," he muttered under his breath.
He knew he had messed up this time.

Isabella took a deep breath, feeling relieved that the call had ended. She glanced over at Chozen who was still holding the metal stick in his hand.
"Thanks," she said quietly.
She looked up at him and saw that he was still staring at her with a cold expression.
Chozen's eyes softened as he looked at her for a moment before returning to his usual cold expression.
"You don't have to thank me," he said quietly.
He leaned the metal stick against the wall and sat down next to her.
Isabella looked at him, a small smile tugging at the corner of her lips.
"But I do," she said softly.
"You were there for me when I needed you the most."
