Chapter 57 - Chapter 56 {Great Grandma}

Zal felt a sense of unease as he read through the articles.

Why was there no mention of Isabella? Had Zane erased her from his life completely?

Zal continued to search for more information about Zane, hoping to find something that would explain his relationship with Isabella and why it had ended so abruptly.

Zal's eyes widened as he read through the list of Isabella's siblings.

He knew that Emily was married to Joel. And he had heard rumors about the other siblings, but he hadn't realized they were all related to Isabella.

He wondered if any of them knew anything about what had happened between Zane and Isabella.

Zal thought about trying to contact one of them, but he wasn't sure where to start.

He knew that Emily was married to Joel and had seen them together before. But the others were more elusive.

He sighed and closed his laptop again. He was no closer to finding out what had happened between Zane and Isabella than he was before.

Zal snapped his finger wait Isabella brother! Let's look at his media account.

Zal scanned through Victor's social media accounts, looking for any mention of Isabella or Zane.

But just like with Isabella's accounts, there was nothing. It was all surface level stuff.

Zal frowned and leaned back in his chair.

This whole situation was starting to feel like a dead end.

But there is one photo that showed of a woman who isn't thin but chubby and it's a photo from six to seven years ago.

Zal's eyes widened as he saw the photo.

The woman in the picture was definitely heavier than any of Isabella's siblings. And the date on the photo was around the time she had been kicked out of her family.

He leaned closer to his screen, studying the woman's face intently.

This is Isabella!? To my sister always love you and be safe.

Zal's heart skipped a beat as he read the caption.

This was definitely Isabella. But why had she been so heavy in this photo? And what did her brother mean by "always love you and be safe"?

Zal felt a pang of sympathy for her. Whatever had happened between her and her family must have been serious if they had disowned her like this.

Zal made a mental note of the photo and its caption before closing his laptop.

He knew that Chozen would want to see this, but he also knew that it wouldn't give them all the answers they were looking for.

Zal leaned back in his chair and sighed. This whole situation was getting more complicated with every piece of information he found.

Three days later

Zal knocked on Chozen's office door before entering.

He could tell immediately that Chozen was in a bad mood. His face was dark and he was tapping his fingers impatiently on the desk.

Zal swallowed nervously as he took a seat in front of Chozen's desk.

He knew that Chozen was expecting some answers from him, but he wasn't sure if what he had found would be enough.

"Here are the informations."

Zal handed Chozen a folder that contained all the information he had gathered.

He watched anxiously as Chozen flipped through the pages, waiting for his reaction.

Chozen's expression remained stoic as he read through the information.

He was silent for a long moment before finally looking up at Zal.

"Is this everything?" he asked gruffly.

Zal nodded, feeling a pit forming in his stomach.

"Yeah," he said quietly.

"That's everything I could find."

"Isn't to small?" Chozen asked in a cold manner.

Zal swallowed nervously again.

"I know it's not much," he said, feeling the weight of Chozen's disappointment.

"But I really did try my best to find out more information."

"Alright just watch her closely," Chozen said he felt that Isabella was a mystery.

Zal nodded obediently.

He knew that Chozen was not satisfied with the information he had gathered, but he also knew better than to argue with him.

"Understood," Zal said quietly.

"I'll keep an eye on her."

Chozen leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms.

"You better," he said sternly.

"I don't like loose ends."

"Dad, why are you looking into the beautiful fairy?" Felix asked as he narrowed his eyes.

Chozen's expression softened slightly as he looked at his son.

"It's not just about her being beautiful," he said quietly.

"There's something about her that doesn't add up."

"Dad? You need your brain checked," Felix said as he sat down and went back to reading daddy is so different from Isabella. Felix sighed dad is such an idiot.

"I need my brain checked?" Chozen asked in a amused tone.

Felix looked up from his book, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Yeah," he said with a cheeky grin.

"You're acting like some sort of idiot or something."

Chozen raised an eyebrow at his son's insolence.

"Is that so?" he asked in a dangerous tone.

"And what makes you the expert on who is and isn't acting like an idiot?"

"Why not try to get to know her and find more about her that way?" Felix said as he nodded his head if his dad and Isabella start dating won't he be able to see her often?

Chozen's expression darkened at the suggestion.

"That's not a good idea," he said firmly.

"I have no interest in getting involved with her."

He knew that Felix was just trying to play matchmaker, but he wasn't going to fall for it.

Felix closed his book and he stood up.

"Then die single."

Chozen chuckled darkly at Felix's comment.

"Is that a threat?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Because if it is, you're going to regret saying it."

Felix may be his son, but Chozen was still the boss here and he wouldn't tolerate disrespect from anyone.

"No dad it's not a threat it's a fact."

Chozen leaned forward, his eyes narrowing.

"You're treading on dangerous ground here, Felix," he said in a low voice.

"I'm not some toy for you to play with."

He knew that Felix was just trying to get under his skin, but he wasn't going to let him win this argument.

"Sorry dad."

Chozen's expression softened slightly at Felix's apology.

He knew that his son was just being a pain in the ass sometimes, but he still loved him.

"It's okay," he said gruffly.

"Just watch yourself next time."

"Mmm yes dad, dad how is great grandma?" Felix whispered in a low manner.

Chozen's expression darkened again at the mention of his great-grandmother.

"She's...not doing well," he said quietly.

His great-grandmother was getting old and frail, and it was hard for him to see her in such a vulnerable state.

"Are you still looking for the Miracle Worker?"

Chozen nodded grimly.

"Yes," he said.

"I've been searching for her for months, but I still haven't found any leads."

He had heard rumors about the Miracle Worker's healing abilities and he was desperate to find her and see if she could help his great-grandmother.

Felix went back to his book.

Chozen watched his son for a moment, then sighed and leaned back in his chair.

He knew that Felix was just trying to distract him from thinking about his great-grandmother's health, but it wasn't working.

He couldn't shake the feeling that time was running out, and if he didn't find the Miracle Worker soon, it might be too late.
