"I prefer working alone," Isabella said bluntly. She didn't mind baking, but the thought of dealing with customers and coworkers made her cringe.
Noel nodded in understanding. She could sense the girl's introverted nature and her dislike of social interaction.
"How about you work at Gold Star Dessert Cafe? My husband and I own that plus you can be in charge of cooking the desserts," Noel said. Noel didn't dare say that she was a famous bakery teacher who has tested all kinds of dessert and food this girl has a bright future in food her talent should be used. Isabella made a frown she shook her head.
"No, thank you," Isabella said firmly. The idea of working in a bakery, even one owned by Noel and her husband, was not appealing to her.
Noel could see the stubbornness in Isabella's expression. She knew that trying to convince her would be futile.
"Well dear if you change your mind our house number is 345 Street view. Call us anytime dear," Noel said.
"Wait moment, I will work there for a month but I want high salary."
Noel's eyes widened at Isabella's unexpected change of heart. She was surprised by the girl's sudden demand for a high salary.
"A month?" she repeated, her brow furrowing slightly.
"And you want a high salary? What makes you think we can afford that?"
"Because within a month your shop will be famous, I will bake anything," Isabella said she was somewhat arrogant but she was being kind about it.
Noel raised an eyebrow at Isabella's arrogance. But she couldn't deny that the girl had confidence in her skills.
"Famous, huh?" she said, a hint of skepticism in her voice.
"And you're sure you can back up that claim?"
"Yes because I am amazing, no one has seen such talented baker yet!" Isabella said confidently.
"Plus tell me Auntie Noel aren't my cupcakes amazing? I created them from scratch."
Noel chuckled at Isabella's confidence, but she couldn't deny that the girl had a point. The cupcakes were indeed delicious and well-made.
"They are amazing," she admitted, taking another bite of one of the cupcakes.
"I can't argue with that."
She looked at Isabella thoughtfully for a moment.
Noel studied Isabella's face, taking in her youthful features and the determination in her eyes. She could see the passion for baking that burned within the girl.
"Alright," she said finally.
"We'll give you a high salary for a month, on one condition."
Noel leaned forward slightly, her eyes fixed on Isabella's face.
"The condition is that you have to prove yourself. If your baking really does make our shop famous within a month, then we'll pay you handsomely."
She paused for a moment before adding.
"And as for the salary... I was thinking $10,000 per week."
Isabella's eyes widened at the mention of $10,000 per week. It was more money than she had ever dreamed of earning.
She thought for a moment before nodding her head in agreement.
"Deal," she said firmly.
Isabella wasn't joking when she said she would make Gold Star Dessert a famous cafe. Within a week people would come in to try new kind of dessert. Behind kitchen even though Isabella was overweight the cooks just respected her skills in baking at first they made rude comments about her overweight but Isabella was numb to those words but slowly she shut them up with her skills.
Noel and her husband were amazed by the transformation of their cafe. Within a week, word had spread about the delicious desserts that Isabella was creating.
People from all over town came to try her creations, and the cafe was always filled with customers. The cooks who had initially made rude comments about Isabella's weight were now in awe of her talent.
Isabella found herself in high demand. People would come to the cafe just to see her and try her desserts.
She worked tirelessly every day, creating new recipes and experimenting with different flavors. She took pride in her work and it showed in the quality of the desserts she produced.
A week later Isabella was so tired but she still got up to go to Gold Star Dessert. She saw a long line of people waiting for the cafe to open. She was honestly shocked she just started to work here a week ago yet it's already famous not had.
Customer 1: Oh my gosh I heard about this place even the wait list online is so long.
Customer 2: I also heard that everything is always sold out that's why so many people here
Customer 3: Ahh I tried it last week and I must say I wish I bought more!
Isabella walked through the front door, her tiredness evident on her face. She had been working non-stop since she started at Gold Star Dessert, and the long lines of customers only seemed to grow longer each day.
She tied her apron around her waist and got ready for another busy shift.
Noel rushed straight toward Isabella and grabbed her hand she jumped and down with excitement.
"Isabella guess what!?" Noel asked Isabella who was indifferent.
Isabella looked at Noel with a tired but curious expression.
"What is it?" she asked, her voice slightly hoarse from exhaustion.
Noel's excitement was palpable as she spoke, her eyes sparkling with joy.
"Isabella, your baking has made this cafe a success!" she exclaimed.
"We've had more customers than ever before, and the reviews are amazing!"
She grabbed Isabella's hands in her own, her grip tight with enthusiasm.
"Oh?" Isabella muttered she seemed to know this would be coming what's so exciting about that? Noel flicked Isabella on the forehead.
"But that's not the exciting news the Queen of England wants you to bake for her 894 year old birthday as you know human lifespan is long now and we are in 4568," Noel said with a smirk on her lips.
Isabella's eyes widened in surprise at Noel's news. The Queen of England wanted her to bake for her birthday? It was an honor that Isabella had never imagined she would receive.
"The...Queen?" she repeated, disbelief in her voice.
"She wants me to bake for her birthday?"
"Yes."
"No," Isabella said bluntly that just seemed even annoying then working here.
Noel chuckled at Isabella's blunt response. She could see the girl's reluctance to accept the offer.
"Come on," she said, her tone coaxing.
"It's a once in a lifetime opportunity. You'll get to bake for royalty."
Isabella still looked skeptical, but Noel could see that she was wavering.
"Plus I told them you would do it, they will pay you four million dollars," Noel said. Isabella stopped and she put her thumb up with that money she can get out of this country.
Isabella's eyes widened at the mention of four million dollars. That was a lot of money, and it would definitely give her the chance to leave this country.
"Four million?" she repeated, her voice betraying a hint of surprise.
She thought for a moment before sighing.
"Fine," she said finally.
"I'll do it."
Isabella agreed after all with that money she could finally leave this country behind where everyone knows her and where everyone judges her by her appearance.
Noel smiled triumphantly at Isabella's agreement. She knew the girl was only doing it for the money, but she didn't mind.
"Excellent," she said, her voice filled with satisfaction.
"I'll arrange everything."
She patted Isabella on the shoulder before walking away to make some phone calls.
Few of the chiefs walked inside they also over heard about the news they rushed straight toward Isabella and touched her chubby hands.
"WOW Sister Isabella you are making!" Scott said.
"Move it Scott, teach us!" Carey asked Isabella. Isabella chuckled and touched these people heads some of them were much older then her while the other were the same age as her or slightly older then her. Isabella smile was beautiful on her little chubby face.
"Alright I will teach you guys."
The cooks gathered around Isabella, their eyes filled with anticipation. They had seen her work her magic in the kitchen and they were eager to learn from her.
Isabella began by explaining the science behind baking, showing them how different ingredients interacted with each other to create delicious treats. She demonstrated various techniques for mixing, folding, and shaping doughs and batters.
The cooks listened intently, hanging on to every word that Isabella said. They watched her work with a mixture of awe and fascination, trying their best to replicate her techniques in their own baking.
As the hours passed, they gradually became more confident in their skills. The kitchen was filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods and the sound of laughter as everyone worked together.
