Inside a large room, a child aged around 8 sat on a king-sized bed, holding his head. His eyes were wide with shock, and sweat poured down his forehead. His deep scarlet red eyes seemed out of place, glowing faintly in the dim light, while his short, beautiful dirty blond hair framed his face. He looked lost, overwhelmed by the strange, unfamiliar surroundings.
"Impossible," a light mutter escaped his lips. He slowly stood up, gripping the bed for support. As he rose to his feet, he looked around the room.
Something was wrong... this can't be!
He looked down at his small hands, and his body began to tremble once again. They were too small to be his hands and looked like those of a child, fragile and delicate. This wasn't his body. His heart raced as the panic grew. To his left, he noticed a glass door that seemed to lead out to a balcony.
His feet moved slowly, almost on their own, as he took small steps toward the door. Each step felt strange. As he stood before the door, his hand shakily reached for the handle.
With a slight push, the door creaked open. The moment it did, a deep, fresh breeze filled his lungs. The air felt incredibly clean, as if he had never breathed anything like it before. It was strong, pure, and almost overwhelming in its freshness. He had always lived in a city where the air was thick with pollution, and this felt like a different world altogether.
Is there a place on Earth with air like this? He thought to himself, but as the questions swirled in his mind, he couldn't stop his gaze from shifting upward.
"What the...?"
Instead of the usual sun or moon he was used to seeing, there were two moons - one red, the other blue - floating high in the clear, cloudless night sky. The sight was surreal, like nothing he had ever imagined.
This clearly isn't Earth!
Was he dreaming?
But the air felt so real, he could feel it on his skin. It didn't feel fake at all, the cool breeze flowing around him like something tangible. This wasn't a dream.
Knock knock.
"Young Master, may I enter?"
As he stood there, lost in his thoughts, a soft voice reached his ears. It carried a hint of respect, calm yet formal.
Someone is there? Panic gripped him. How should I face her? I don't even know who she is.
He tried to remember who this woman was, who this voice belonged to, but nothing came to mind. His memory was a blur, and every attempt to recall her name, her face, was like trying to grasp smoke.
His mind scrambled, searching for answers. Just as he felt a fragment of recognition stirring, a sharp pain suddenly assaulted his brain.
AHHHHHH!
Linus screamed, his voice echoing through the vast room like a thunderclap. The pain was unbearable - not physical, but something deeper, lodged within his mind. It felt as though his very thoughts were being torn apart, fragmented into pieces too small to grasp.
It was unlike anything he had ever experienced before, a searing, relentless agony that consumed his entire being. The intensity of it robbed him of all sense of control, leaving him powerless and overwhelmed. The world around him blurred, drowned out by the torment raging inside his head
Seconds later, saliva poured from his mouth, and his eyes rolled back into his head. He couldn't hold himself up any longer.
Bam!
With a loud crash, Linus collapsed to the floor.
"Young Master???" The woman's voice was filled with concern. The door swung open, and she rushed to his side.
Without hesitation, she gathered him into her arms, lifting his limp body with ease. She moved quickly as she carried him toward the bed.
Gently, she laid him down, her hands steady as she ensured he was comfortable. The world around him faded to nothingness as he lay there, unconscious and vulnerable.
----------------------------------
The second time he woke up in this bed, Linus felt much calmer. His eyes opened slowly, adjusting to the dim light, and for the first time since he found himself in this strange place, he felt a strange sense of familiarity - as if this was normal for him.
And there was a reason for that.
He had seen it - the life of the body's previous owner. It played before his eyes like a vivid movie, scenes flashing by in rapid succession. Every moment, every detail, unspooled itself in his mind. Thankfully, he felt no changes in his mindset. Their personas hadn't merged, and he remained entirely himself.
He just felt familiar, like that one movie you've watched hundreds of times before.
This body had been called Linus as well. The boy was the son of a powerful Vampire, one who bore the same name as the main villainess in the eroge he had been excited to play.
And then there was his older sister. Calling her sister felt strange, almost absurd - she was over 500 years old, practically ancient compared to him. In reality, she could easily be considered his ancestor. But for Vampires, 500 years was still relatively young. His mother, on the other hand, should be thousands of years old by now. Both bore the exact same names as the characters from the game. That confirmed it. This wasn't some strange coincidence. He was inside the game world.
How he ended up here, though, was a question that lingered in his mind He didn't remember dying, nor any accident that might have brought him to this place. He hadn't even started the game. He had merely installed it, then gone to sleep.
And now, he was here.
Another question filled in his mind. If he was here, and he didn't die, what had happened to his original body? Was he in a coma now, lying somewhere in a hospital? Or had his body died afterward, leaving this as his only reality?
He didn't know, and truthfully, it didn't matter much. His family had passed away long ago, leaving no one behind who would truly mourn him. And the few friends he had? They weren't close enough to shed tears for him or even notice his absence.
But now, things were different. Here, he had a family again - a real one. And the best part? They were all much older than him! The idea of addressing a mother who was only a few years older than him would have been awkward and weird, but thankfully, that wasn't a problem he had to face. His mother was thousands of years old, and his sister was over 500. In comparison, he really was the little one.
Bam!
Still lost in thought, Linus was jolted back to reality by the sound of a loud crash.
Turning toward the door, his eyes widened in disbelief. The door had been broken down, the wood splintered into pieces. Standing in the midst of the debris was a breathtakingly beautiful woman. Long silver hair with golden accents framed her sharp features, and her piercing blue eyes seemed to glow with an otherworldly light. She stood tall at about 5'8", her figure was striking, and her chest generously proportioned.
It was his older sister, Lenora. Her curious gaze lingered on him, her expression a mix of surprise and suspicion.
"How... did you already awaken? That shouldn't be possible..." she muttered, almost as if talking to herself. Her words were strange, yet for some reason, Linus could hear her clearly despite the distance.
That was impossible for a human.
Human. That was what he used to be. But now? Now he was something entirely different. This body was no longer mortal. It belonged to a bloodsucker, commonly known as a Vampire.
That's right. He hadn't just reincarnated. He had switched races.
The sound of her steps brought him back to the moment as Lenora walked closer. Without hesitation, she reached out toward him, her hands cupping his face gently. His big sisters touch was warm, her fingers brushing lightly against his skin.
Lenora studied him closely, her voice soft with concern. "How are you feeling? Are you fine?"
Linus froze. His body tensed, and before he realized it, tears began to well up in his eyes. How long had it been since someone showed him this kind of care? How long had it been since someone touched him so kindly, spoke to him with such warmth? He couldn't even remember.
Ah... what a bad day for rain, he thought, his lips curling into a small, genuine smile.
"Thank you, big sister. I'm fine," he said, his voice steady but filled with emotion.
Lenora's eyes widened in shock. Big sister? He had never called her that before. Her little brother had always been a brat, one who dismissed her affection and kindness, never acknowledging her efforts to be a good sister. Yet now, hearing him say those words, something stirred in her heart. It felt... different, but strangely pleasant. For the first time, it seemed like he truly saw her as his older sister.
