Years ago, before Mo-Mochi's adventure even began, there was a castle in ruin within the Diablo desert, long since forgotten. Stories told that a giant monster destroyed the castle years ago. The howling winds carried whispers of a forgotten era, as if the castle itself mourned its tragic fate. It stood as a haunting reminder of a bygone period, lost to the relentless sands of time.
An elderly man rediscovered this lost castle years later as he began to look around. The old man had white, mid-length hair, a goatee, and a cyborg-like modification to his right eye. By the look of his attire, he seemed to be some sort of scientist. He had stumbled upon the castle, deciding to make it his home.
Searching around for a bit, he noticed that while the castle had been destroyed, it seemed to have a hidden underground area that was most likely lost among the rubble. He goes down to find a moderately sized room that looked as if it was formally a dungeon. That didn't matter to the old man; to him, he saw a place where he could work undistracted by all the unnecessary noise of the outside world. Privacy was all the man could honestly ask for.
He opens his case of capsules and begins throwing them all over the room, slowly turning this empty room into what seems to be a laboratory of his own creation. The old man meticulously arranges various scientific equipment and tools, creating an organized chaos that only he could understand. The empty room quickly becomes a sanctuary where his passion for experimentation can thrive undisturbed.
The old man, sounding upset with his current circumstances, begins shouting to himself: CURSE THAT DOCTOR GERO! How dare he try to stop me from pursuing my scientific endeavors! The old fool couldn't even keep his creations in check, but I won't let his interference deter me. I will show the world the true power of my creations and prove that my genius surpasses his own!
The old man worked tirelessly, fueled by anger. Using his computer monitor, he tries to see if he has any research or notes left over from his earlier experiments. There was nothing except some basic information about some of his oldest creations, dark gray and blue creatures, though they have distinctly different beady red eyes in addition to black claws and talons.
He sighed, seeing that he didn't have much to work with. "Dammit, Kochin, looks like you weren't able to grab all of my data from the lab after the attack. It looks like the only thing I have left are the Bio-Men, and these aren't even the real ones; these are the beta models."
As he scrolled through the limited information, he couldn't help but feel a pang of frustration. The attack from the Cyborgs had not only destroyed his lab but also jeopardized years of meticulous research. Scoffing at his misfortune, he says, "All that hard work, my hard work, it's gone..." He takes a deep breath, straightens his back, determined to rebuild his lab and continue his research, undeterred by the setback.
Yes, this is just a setback that I can easily overcome, but if I'm going to make up for the work I've lost, I'm going to have to use my old college sponsors," he thought to himself. He stares at an old news article from Age 769 talking about the debut of the Androids, staring at the insignia on their clothing, Red Ribbion (R.R.).
He pondered, "I wonder if I could possibly find any of their old bases. A mental note for later for now I should continue with my primary focus, which is Dr. Gero's lab for the time being. There were rumors about it being in the northern mountains, probably in ruin. No matter; I should still prepare for at least one trip; there's going to be at least something there I could salvage." He made the required preparations and then headed for the northern mountains. When he arrived, he looked around but saw nothing except that animals had returned to the area. Luckily, with the help of his robotic eye, he spotted something interesting: a ladder that seemed to lead deeper inside the mountains. He had seen that the road was getting more and more restricted as he had climbed down the ladder. The cave grew more narrow as he proceeded until he eventually came across something. Boulders and rubble with holes and fissures appeared to be in his way. He could see what seemed to be broken computer components along with torn blueprints and something else, but it was too far to make out.The man adjusted his wrist like a machine as his arm turned into a cannon. It began to charge up a shot, firing it at the debris. After a bit of smoke and dust cleared the air, the pathway was open. He could only assume from looking around the place that this must have been a sub-lab of some sort. After a proper search of the lab, he finds some of Gero's old notes, but most of them seem to have been worn or illegible to read.
He became irritated after attempting to read some of Gero's old notes. "So that bastard Gero tried to get into biotechnology, hmph, as if he could make anything comparable to my works. Unlike him, I'll make sure my creations never go rogue," he exclaims in a smug tone. "Other than this and a few useful schematics like these surveillance drones, I could work with this."
As he moved more into the rear of the lab to attempt to see what he had seen before, his eyes expanded somewhat, and he appeared somewhat astonished by what he had discovered. An large enigmatic container with simply the number 13.
He says, "Oh, Gero, big mistake leaving your old work behind," with a menacing look in his eyes realizing what he has just discovered. I believe it's only right that I take your creation, considering you destroyed all of mine.To Be Continued…
