Wooheon found Yueul’s cheerful morning smile odd, almost unsettling. It was a smile so bright and jolly it could make him lose his appetite.
Just like yesterday, Wooheon handed Yueul some leftover bread. Yueul took it and smiled foolishly as he held it.
The sunlight streaming through the window made Yueul feel good, and he was relieved that he no longer had to pretend that he ‘liked’ Wooheon.
“What’s making you so happy? Another silent anthropomorph was rescued early this morning, still refusing to talk. Did you read the book last night?”
“Can’t we talk about work... Later?”
“Then what are you smiling about?”
“Doesn’t smiling make you feel better?”
“No. You look like an idiot, smiling for no reason.”
“Well, don’t you think the weather’s nice today?”
“No.”
“...This is when you’re supposed to say something like, ‘The weather’s quite hot, I guess it’s going to be a long summer this year,‘ or ‘Maybe, but I find it a bit warm.’”
