Chapter 3 - The Memory Eater

I'd always been fascinated by the abandoned asylum on the outskirts of town. Rumors swirled that it was haunted, that anyone who ventured inside would never return. But I didn't believe it. I had to see it for myself.

As I made my way through the crumbling halls, I stumbled upon a room that seemed untouched by time. The walls were covered in old medical equipment, and a single patient's file lay open on a dusty desk.

I picked up the file, and a chill ran down my spine. The patient's name was Emily, and she had been admitted to the asylum with a rare condition - she had no memories.

As I read on, I discovered that Emily's condition was not just a result of her illness, but also of a mysterious entity that had begun to haunt her. It was known as the Memory Eater, and it fed on people's memories, leaving them with nothing but a blank slate.

I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched, and I began to suspect that the Memory Eater was still in the asylum, waiting for its next victim.

As I turned to leave, I saw a figure standing in the doorway. It was Emily, or at least, what was left of her. Her eyes were black as coal, and her skin was pale and decaying.

She began to move towards me, her mouth open in a silent scream. I tried to run, but my feet seemed rooted to the spot.

And then, everything went black.

When I came to, I was lying in a hospital bed, with no memory of who I was or how I got there. The doctor told me that I had been found in the abandoned asylum, with no identification on me.

As I looked around the hospital room, I saw a figure standing in the corner. It was Emily, or at least, what was left of her.

She began to move towards me, her mouth open in a silent scream. I tried to scream, but my voice was frozen in my throat.

And then, everything went black again.

I'm still trapped in this hospital bed, with no memory of who I am or how I got here. But I know that I'm not alone. The Memory Eater is still out there, waiting for its next victim.
