Nobody wants to live forever, and that's why Evermortalis is the most cursed planet in the universe, yet one of the most blessed.
It was the year 78923 B.A. For around 922 years, the 'Keepers' had protected Evermortalis. Evermortalis was seen as the most blessed planet in existence due to its vastly varying colors, geography, and biology, as well as its sheer size. The 'Keepers' were a group of 9 people put there to guard these values and treasures held by the planet.
It was the largest planet in existence, and it wasn't even close to being fully explored. It was estimated that it wouldn't be fully explored for millions of years. The planet started to grow independent, rejecting any outside, foreign bodies from entering its atmosphere. This safety mechanism it generated kept Evermortalis pure of outside influence.
The Keepers were the strongest on the planet, they had never lost a fight and were successful in subduing any threats to the planet. They all aged 10x slower than anything else on the planet. The Keepers were made with supernatural abilities named 'Blessings'. This group was made specifically to protect the planet. No mother, no father, just them.
On a day known as 'The Rapture', Evermortalis was breached. It's unknown how, but an invader managed their way into Evermortalis followed by an army. Someone was bound to make a move with how valuable taking capture of the planet would be, and this invader did so. It's unknown who the invader was, but he left a lasting mark.
The army was overwhelmingly powerful, and their leader was in a league of his own. The Keepers couldn't win a fight with just the nine of them, so Kendra, the most powerful and strongest member of the group, had an idea to siphon a third of the power her blessings granted her into the planet itself, granting everyone alive a blessing. In doing so, the people of Evermortalis would have the strength to fight back against the army of invaders.
The Keepers tried to stop Kendra from going through with the idea but she did either way. She was weaker, but the planet was stronger and had the means to fight back.
The plan worked perfectly. The army was defeated, but the leader was still left. He was strong and was able to hold his own against the eight Keepers and a weakened Kendra, but there was no point. Kendra managed to take him down.
It was looking good for Evermortalis, they seemed victorious, but in a final breath, in what seemed like his final moments, the man managed to whisper just a few words, "Sempiterna sit terra.". These words were the words that would echo in the ears of all Evermortalins for thousands of years.
It was a curse. A curse of immortality laid upon the entirety of Evermortalis. He did this in a last ditch effort to save himself from death, however it would weaken him nearly beyond repair.
The curse affected more than just the people on Evermortalis. Nothing could die, period. The plants, the humans, the creatures, nothing could pass on anymore. It could seem like a blessing but in truth it was the worst thing to happen to Evermortalis.
After the curse was muttered, the leader was killed by Kendra. When someone affected by Aeternal sustains injuries that would otherwise kill them, their souls are sent to hell to wander for a year of pain and agony until their body is fully regenerated and they come back to life. The leader knew he'd have a chance to come back and to take Evermortlais over for good. Ever since then he hasn't been found again, though the search is vast.
As a result of everyone on Evermortalis containing a blessing, any children they bare have a 0.05% chance to be born with their own unique Blessing. There are three types of blessings on the planet. One of a Kind Blessings, only one person in history can hold this blessing; Unique Blessings, only one person at a time can have this blessing; and Normal Blessings, any amount of this blessing can exist at once. The only way a Unique Blessing can exist on Evermortalis is if someone's soul is sent to hell, and somebody else is born during that year and get's lucky enough to obtain that blessing.
Kendra felt responsible for the curse, believing she had a chance to kill him and didn't. Because of this, she set out on her own adventure to find and kill the man that cursed their planet, and before that happened, she decided to give birth to a child with another member of the Keepers. This child was born to carry on Kendra's beliefs in case she passed on her journey.
Kendra had a sword specially made for her and her blessings. The sword was perfectly compatible with her blessings and being, and that sword paired with a specific one of her powers gave her the ability to take the lives of those affected by Aeternal, the name that was placed upon the curse.
With the sword and a son to carry on her will, she set out on an adventure to search the planet for the invader, but it was in vain. Nobody knows how far she got, but in the midst of finding a way to end the curse and in finding the invader, she passed away. It's uncertain how this was possible, given that she seemed to be the only one capable of taking life.
After this expedition had come to a sudden end, Kendra became known as 'The Hero of Evermortalis'. Having set out on a dangerous adventure, giving away a third of her blessings for the planet, and passing away in the fight for the planet, Kendra earned the title, and has many statues built of her to worship and honor her legacy.
Aeternal forces everyone and everything to age 10x slower. It keeps them alive no matter how old they get. With the curse in place, the Keepers now grew 100x times slower than anything else.
The Keepers whereabouts today are unknown, but there are speculations about where they are hiding out. The people of Evermortalis are looking for their next hero. Someone who will put their life on the line to break this curse. They need the next Kendra.
