Chapter 6: Dragon Tamer Get.
-Sirzechs-
Sirzechs Lucifer sat in his office buried beneath mountains of paperwork, each sheet a testament to the burden that came with the position of Lucifer. As his eyes scanned the latest stack of reports trying to distract himself, his face betrayed his growing irritation.
"Why did I take this position?" he muttered under his breath while rubbing his temples. Being Lucifer was nothing like the grandiose title suggested, especially after the Great war and Civil war as now there were multiple factions each vying for more power and control and he was the punching back of it all having to deal with a mire of bureaucratic nonsense, political drama, and endless responsibilities.
Yet, even the stress within his mind wasn't just from the ridiculous workload as his mind kept drifting back to Rias. His precious little sister, whose happiness was something he had always cherished, perhaps too much.
The news of her breakup with Emrys had left Sirzechs conflicted. Emrys is a promising ally even when his power was sealed away because his future children would be powerhouses just by having his DNA and his connection to Tiamat was a boon to the Underworld, specifically the New Maou faction.
That was why he had a put his plan into action to hopefully ally him with the underworld without having to give up his little sister, at this time
(Seven days ago)
He was in the same position filling out the much dreaded paperwork when his wife told him about Emrys breaking up with Rias because the dragon found her nude in bed with her newly acquired pawn and Grayfia's plan to help Rias reconcile with Emrys being that she would sleep with him and explain after he wasn't so hopped up on emotion.
The thought of having his wife, the mother of his child sleep with the dragon, so Emrys would get back together with Rias wasn't something that sat right with him. For a over a year he'd slowly been getting used to his Rias dating someone else and was letting his obsession with her go slightly as he'd even reduced the amount of time he'd watch Rias sleep from five times a week to whenever she slept by herself as Sirzechs didn't want to witness Emrys cuddling with her, fearing he would lose control and kill the dragon in jealousy.
Now the opportunity presented itself to make Rias his, so he agreed and let Grayfia sleep with Emrys knowing his wife had been interested in finding someone to vent her lust on as Sirzechs himself was paying less attention to her needs and hoping they formed a connection to distract the two allowing him to slide in a comfort his sister in ways that most would find disgusting.
Sirzechs knew that as long as Emrys continued to stay connected to the Underworld in some way the diplomatic problems he would face would be minimal as not many among the New Satan, Old Satan and Great King factions would complain. Except the Phenex family of course as previously Riser Phenex, the third son of the Phenex family had been engaged to Rias, an engagement that Sirzechs was helpless to stop in the past, but as of last year Emrys courting of Rias led to an eventual annulment of the arrangement, which upset the Phenex family.
When, not if, his father, the current head of the Gremory family, learned of Rias being caught in bed with her pawn while dating Emrys he would likely have a heart attack followed by doing something drastic with Rias single status, but this time he would be prepared this time.
He spent the whole day spiraling further into frustration as he contemplated ways to woo Rias, when the soft yet unmistakable knock of Grayfia brought him back to reality. It was the next day and she was back after her unusual request and hopefully she brought good news.
The door opened and she stepped in, her presence immaculate as always. Clad in her tidy and crisp maid uniform, Grayfia carried an air of authority that Sirzechs was jealous of, never being able to exude the same aura.
"Lord Sirzechs, I've returned from Kuoh and I have much to report." she stated in a cool and measured tone that seemed standoffish to him, but he wasn't one to nitpick especially his queen and wife, so he leaned back in his chair and gestured for her to continue.
Having known her for hundreds of years he noted the faint tension in her expression, a rare occurrence for someone as composed as Grayfia that meant something important happened and he most likely wouldn't be happy.
She began and outlined her night with Emrys followed by the deal she made with him. A continued arrangement where she could continue regular sessions of intimacy with the dragon and as a guise for the other pillars he would assist in expanding her magic reserves.
Sirzechs's lips twitched, unable to decide whether to feel exasperation or astonishment as his wife was telling him she wanted to fuck the dragon so much she made a pact to continue and while the deal made it sound like she was simply giving her body for power which was a line of thought almost every pure blooded devil shared and would ensure he wouldn't be ridiculed by the other pillars or factions, he knew it was simply because Emrys gave Grayfia what she lacked. It was better for his plan, but the thought of her craving the dragon left him feeling bitter.
"Anything else?" Sirzechs asked, having a feeling that there was more to it.
"...Emrys, set a boundary that during my time with him, he would be the only man to touch me and after I mentioned the situation with Rias being a misunderstanding he simply said he'd think about it." Grayfia hesitated at the beginning before replying smoothly, most likely thinking that the initial plan was a failure, but to him it was a success.
While the idea of Emrys continuing to sleep with Grayfia, his Grayfia, stung his pride. She has abandoned her family heritage to switch factions during the civil war and still to this day while she was respected for her strength her reputation only went so far as to cover her turning traitor especially for a race such as devils, who had nearly an infinite lifespan and held grudges for just as long.
For hundreds of years she was there by his side never making a single selfish request, but now that she was it was something that she knew it would be difficult for him as giving his wife to someone wasn't something any man would want to do, less so himself, a devil who was stated to be ten times stronger than the original Lucifer and a being who was called the Embodiment of Destruction.
It was all temporary, he wouldn't touch Grayfia while he was wooing Rias and when he succeeded he'd simply recall Grayfia, some gains required sacrifice and this was one he was willing to make.
The only conciliation was the fact that Emrys was about to be unsealed, because the thought of his wife wanting to be with someone inferior in power and race would be even more demeaning, but if he could perform the expansion ritual with someone of Grayfia's caliber his power exceeded what Sirzechs thought, he'd have to ask Akuja for information when he got the chance.
"Let me think about it." He acted as if he hadn't already decided, "What's happening with Rias?" he probed, curious as his sister didn't want him to know much about her situation.
"After I informed Rias of the pact I made with Emrys, while jealous at first, she quickly changed her attitude and encouraged me to keep him away from other women as she wishes to reconcile with Emrys and doesn't want any other woman approaching him while she 'wins him back'."Grayfia said which annoyed him, because if Rias was still hung up on Emrys and remained stubborn he'd be at a complete loss, but again Grayfia's expression showed that her next words would anger him.
"And Lord Gremory has spies in Kuoh and he has already moved to reinstate the engagement with Riser Phenex, citing the scandal as grounds. Right now I worry for her mental state, she's showing signs of instability." She finished with a furrowed brow anxious at his reaction.
The temporary glee at his plan going better than anticipated was swallowed by a pit of anger at the news. Rias still wanted to get back with Emrys even after hearing that the dragon knew it was just a misunderstanding and now the audacity of his father to meddle in Rias's affairs again infuriated him.
"How dare he," Sirzechs growled, his magic briefly flaring, but the potency was enough to atomize the paperwork that was on his desk before he contained himself because beneath the anger, laid an uncomfortable feeling of possessiveness.
He hated seeing Rias suffer but loathed the thought of her moving on and trying to get back together with a man who wasn't committed to her and hearing her mental state being caused by both the dragon and his father twisted something within him.
After sleeping with his wife and wanting to continue sleeping with his wife Emrys was still undecided about Rias, leading her on and his father the hypocrite who was constantly spouting about caring about her happiness not even a year ago was so quick to disregard Rias' feelings.
"I should..." Sirzechs began, but the words failed him. What could he do? His position as Lucifer binded him under so much red tape that only he didn't have many options, but the arrangement Grayfia struck with Emrys could work to his advantage as it was already made and only required his permission to continue.
"Grayfia, how much do you like your current dynamic with Emrys?" He asked wanting to know the opinion of his wife as it would hinge on her, but she didn't speak as she contemplated his question most likely thinking that he was testing her.
"It is something that I enjoy, but it isn't the end all be all." The response was cautious, but was leaning toward her wanting him to accept and knowing Rias was still pining after Emrys worried him to the point of making a massive decision that he knew would change his relationship with Rias if she ever found out.
"Then tell the dragon that as long as he leaves Rias alone, I'll agree to this deal. Granted I would still need you to perform your duties as my queen, but when it comes to your duties as my wife we can put those on pause." He said knowing that he just admitted to trading Grayfia to Emrys for a chance at Rias.
Desperate times called for desperate measures and now wasn't the time to play it safe. He'd have to find a way to block his father from continuing with Rias' engagement.
"You don't want Emrys to get back together with Rias in exchange for continuing the deal I already made with him?" Grayfia asked, losing her composure and showing a baffled look that clued in Sirzechs that his request was unusual, but he couldn't stand the thought of anyone else being with Rias and now that she was emotional it was the perfect time to provide support.
So in the end he responded with a nodding and Sirzechs was met with a look of disbelief that was followed by anger, Grayfia knew that he always had a complex about Rias, but she likely didn't
"I'll inform Emrys of your proposal next week when I meet him, but I have a question."
"Yes."
"If Emrys rejects, what will happen to us?" She asked with an emotionless tone and that question rang in his head, because he knew from the moment those words
"If he's still unsure of his relationship with Rias, it's more than likely that he will accept, but if he does reject you and continues to pursue Rias then we will simply forget about this." He stated knowing that his relationship with Grayfia would never be the same and not thinking Emrys would reject, because if Emrys did and decided to get back together with Rias then all that pain she went through would be useless and Sirzechs would have to make Emrys pay.
Grayfia didn't answer immediately, "... My lord, I will continue to monitor the situation and ensure Rias's safety and if there's nothing else?" She said a quiet request to leave and as he nodded, she swiftly left the room to, more than likely get some space between them as Sirzechs knew she was upset.
But no matter what it takes his precious little sister can't face any more pain and he would do anything to make sure she doesn't. Right now was a race against time and the most important part of any battle is information and Sirzechs knew one man that would know the most and as he went to teleport Sirzechs realized that he would need to request new forms of paperwork he destroyed.
After doing so he disappeared in a flash of crimson light and arrived within Ajuka Beelzebub's massive laboratory. The sterile room was lit by countless monitors and intricate magical devices that all seemed to be running simultaneously with Ajuka sitting in front of the biggest screen that was flashing with so much data that it gave Sirzechs a headache trying to read it.
"Ajuka." Sirzechs called out to let his green haired friend knowing that when Ajuka was working on a project he often ignored the rest of the world around him.
"Good morning, Sirzechs." Ajuka replied, never turning away from the monitor, keeping laser-like focus on the screen as if it held the mystery of life.
"How have you been? Busy?" Sirzechs asked rather awkwardly at being deemed as a backdrop to his friend, but that was how Ajuka had been since they were both young and Sirzechs wasn't going to take offense.
"Good, but if you wanted to know about the matter with Emrys all you had to do was ask." Ajuka said not taking his attention away from the computer as he typed, having guessed the reason for his visit Sirzechs was caught off guard by his friend's perceptiveness even when distracted, but could only laugh it off.
"You see through me too easily," Sirzechs admitted, letting the pretense drop. "I need to know everything about him, because right now he's a blind spot and I need all the information I can get."
"I expected as much. Emrys has become quite the topic of interest lately, hasn't he? But if I tell you, promise me you won't attempt something ridiculous. You're not in the right state of mind to make a sound decision regarding him." Ajuka proposed in a tone that made Sirzechs feel as if his every plan had been seen through regarding Emrys, but it also hinted that there was information that he didn't know.
"I promise I won't do something ridiculous, so what can you tell me about him? How strong is he now? I heard from Grayfia that he was going to be unsealed." Sirzechs promised knowing well that he was likely to break that promise and had already sent his wife to dissuade Emrys from getting back with Rias.
Ajuka finished whatever he was typing and glanced up and Sirzechs felt as if it pierced him with both a mixture of curiosity and understanding. He leaned back in his chair, tapping a finger thoughtfully on the desk and for a second he thought that Ajuka wouldn't tell him.
"I just got back from examining him and to understand Emrys, you must first know of his birth. Back during the Great War, Dragon King Tiamat gathered the lingering essence of Ddraig and Albion, combined with the primordial essence of the Primordial Goddess Tiamat, to create him. However, Emrys isn't a hybrid between Primordial and Dragon, but a singularity. He is the vessel of both Domination and Supremacy empowered by the essence of Creation." Ajuka stated in an excited tone that reminded Sirzechs of a mad scientist, which wasn't far off considering all the experiments Ajuka's done.
"And his strength?" Sirzechs asked, feeling his stomach tighten at the thought of facing such an abomination.
"Emrys' power is currently restrained by the seal I designed to keep his opposing bloodlines from tearing him apart and is approaching Middle-Class Dragon, but as time passes the seal will slowly undo itself and he'll reach the strength of a High-Class Dragon by the end of the month and by the end of the year, he'll stand on par with both Ddraig and Albion at their peaks and potentially stronger as he can use both Boost and Divide." Ajuka continued, his tone calm but serious which shocked Sirzechs' his composed mask slipping for a moment.
"Stronger than any god?" he muttered in shock.
Ajuka raised an eyebrow, "Yes, but currently even Rias would be able to defeat the Dragon as he hasn't had much experience with either ability."
Sirzechs felt a moment of relief, but realized that if he couldn't convince Rias to stay with him and Emrys decided to go back with her, any chance of using force would be gone, causing his mind to churn with possibilities each one more desperate than the last. Hopefully his proposition with Grayfia was accepted, if not he'd need to take even more desperate measures.
"Thank you for the information, Ajuka," Sirzechs said, standing. "I'll leave you to your work." he said teleporting to the Gremory Estate hoping he could have a civil conversation with his father because he wouldn't hesitate to show how he got the title Embodiment of Destruction.
-Ajuka-
Nodding as he watched Sirzechs vanish in another flash of red light, he was left alone once more, his mind churning with calculations and possibilities. He had long understood the precarious state of devil society, with their dwindling pure-blooded population and the growing numbers of reincarnated devils.
"Emrys," he mused aloud, his voice a mixture of admiration and curiosity. "A miracle born of chaos and power. If his creation could be replicated for devils, it might solve the crisis of our population, but for that I can't allow Sirzechs to kill him." he muttered knowing the obsessive tendencies Sirzechs showed when concerning Rias.
-Emrys-
(Present day)
"Alright I'm going!" He yelled while transforming back into his human form because stomping around in the human world as a giant fucking dragon would most likely get the Japanese government on him and he wasn't in the mood to get some Godzilla treatment.
"You better be back before night time you little shit!" Tiamat shouted in reply as she went back to lay down inside the cave and while he wanted to quip back he'd thought better and didn't want to end up with more brain damage.
Teleporting to Kuoh, Emrys texted Grayfia knowing where the devil wanted to meet up and she responded that she would be late but that she would meet up with him at the same hotel as last time. Left with unexpected free time and not having visited Kuoh for the past week as he was being trained by Tiamat, he decided to visit his favorite bakery.
Getting two apple-fritters he went for a walk in the park to visit the fountain once more, but as he walked deeper into the park he felt a subtle pull, as though something or someone was calling to him. While suspicious he decided to follow the pull as he had nothing better to do at the moment and soon spotted a figure standing under a streetlamp, looking confused and out of place.
It was a young woman dressed in a nun outfit, her blonde hair gleaming like golden silk. She clutched a map in her hands, her green eyes scanning her surroundings with uncertainty as if she couldn't read any and Emrys instantly recognized her as Asia Argento.
His first thought was to leave her alone remembering the events of the story with Issei finding her which set off a chain of events that led to her joining Rias's peerage, but as he turned to walk away, the words of Tiamat echoed in his mind and a wave of irritation coursed through him. Was he really going to base his actions on something as flimsy as 'following the script'?
Yeah, fuck that. Weakness lies in inaction and mama didn't raise a bitch.
Taking a deep breath he stored his snacks and approached, Asia instantly noticed him immediately, her expression lit up with relief. "Excuse me," she said in broken English, her Italian accent thick but understandable. "Can you help me? I… I is lost." He found it absolutely adorable as he realized that since he looked nothing like the typical Japanese citizen she thought that he was an American tourist.
"Of course. Where are you trying to go?" Emrys gave her a small smile and replied in fluent Italian a perk of being a supernatural race, his golden eyes locking onto hers as he felt like she had an aura that drew him to her and a feeling swelling in his chest that made him want to protect her.
"Oh you speak Italian?! Thank the Lord, I need direction to the church at the edge of town," Asia pleaded, which reminded Emrys of the reason she was in Kuoh, suppressing a sigh he recalled that after Asia arrived at the church which was the base of some fallen angels she was subsequently killed by Raynare who extracted her Sacred Gear, twilight healing which was capable of healing any supernatural race.
"Why would a nun go to the base of Fallen Angels?" he asked curiously.
"Fallen Angels? I don't understand why there would be Fallen Angels in a House of God." she repeated, her voice nervous.
"Well they desecrated it so they wouldn't be burned just stepping inside, but let me ask you this. Do you have a Sacred Gear?" Emrys asked, narrowing his eyes as he crossed his arms putting on a front as while he wasn't going to be scared into inaction, predicting the future would just seem absurd so he had to ask the right question and lead Asia to tell him the information he wanted.
Hesitating as if her mind told her to deny it because it was suspicious to meet someone so coincidentally, but she still replied truthfully, "Yes, but… why do you ask?" Asia left out the information of her sacred gear being Twilight Healing.
"Because their whole goal is to steal Sacred Gears, They've already stolen a few and I don't think you'll be any different, so if I take you to that church you will die." Emrys replied bluntly knowing what he spouted was a hot load of crap because if the fallen angels started abducting and killing sacred gear holders then Rias and Sona would have killed them long ago.
Asia's face paled, and she clutched her hands to her chest. "Why would they?" she whispered tears welling in her eyes, most likely at the betrayal she faced for the second time, first the church and now the fallen angels.
"The same reason most supernatural beings commit foul acts, Sin and in this case it happens to be greed for power that was gifted to you. Last I checked they are weak, two-winged fallen." He narrated the reasons before continuing, "Why are you going there in the first place? Based on your language and faith you should be in a monastery in Italy." He asked in a softened tone, hoping to invoke some trust.
She hesitated again, clearly ashamed. "I… I was excommunicated," she finally admitted. "And they promised me I could still help people. That I could still be useful…"
Emrys felt a pang of sympathy for her innocence. This girl had a pure heart, but the world she was born into was anything but kind. After getting confirmation of her Sacred Gear he asked her about the details of the excommunication and learning that it was the same as canon he pulled out his phone and sent a message to Ajuka.
[Your cousin is working with members of the church to excommunicate nuns. Don't fuck it up and start a war with Heaven.]
Pocketing his phone, he turned his attention back to Asia. "Listen," he said gently. "You're being lied to and they don't care about you or your kindness. You're just a tool to them." he repeated wanting to make sure she understood that she was going to be taken advantage of.
Her tears spilled over, but she nodded, trembling. "What… what should I do?" She asked in fear, shaking like a puppy and seeing the look in her eye he came to a final decision.
"Do you have anywhere to go?" Emrys asked, already knowing the answer.
Asia shook her head. "No… I spent everything I had on my plane ticket here." Her voice wavered with embarrassment, unable to look anywhere except the ground.
"Then come with me."
Asia froze in shock, her eyes wide with surprise. "I… I don't know," she stammered. "I don't want to be a burden to you and I just… I just want to help people, to heal them and make friends." Her voice held a melancholic tone most likely unsure if he was another person trying to deceive her.
Emrys knew she also wanted to join the church once more and wanted to be completely upfront with Asia, but suppressed the urge to tell her the truth about the God of the Bible. He knew she wasn't ready to hear it, not yet, so instead he gave a small smile. "Well you can consider me your friend and I'll protect you, so you'll have the freedom to do whatever you want, from healing people and making friends to worshiping the Biblical God whatever makes you happy."
Asia's eyes widened further, the weight of his words sinking in. After a moment of hesitation, she nodded. "If… if you're sure, then I'll go with you," she said quietly putting her trust in Emrys and he felt good knowing someone so pure existed.
"You should also know that the Church and Heaven while linked aren't the same. I know the Church betrayed you, some of its members are corrupt and they worked with a devil to get you excommunicated, but Heaven is different and while not perfect I should be able to get in contact with them. So if you ever want to join them you'll have the option." Emrys explained not wanting Asia to feel like it was either him or death with the fallen angels and if in the end she decided to join heaven that wouldn't end their relationship, he could always make a pact with her as well.
The response he got though wasn't what Emrys was expecting as Asia instantly began to tear up and rushed to hug him tightly burying her face in his chest while muttering 'thank you' repeatedly. He gently caressed her back until she was all out of tears and when her mind finally caught up with her actions she quickly jerked away with an embarrassed face.
"Alright let's go, I have an appointment in a bit." He motioned with his hand summoning one of the apple fritters and handed it to her as he picked up her suitcase which was startlingly light showing how little she had, which worsened his views on the Church. He took Asia by her free hand and led her out of the park.
As they walked, Emrys couldn't help but feel a shift in his resolve. While Emrys would rely on the information he knew of the future he couldn't depend on it now that he was changing what he wanted, the knowledge he had would be less useful the more time went on.
The walk to the hotel was quiet save the quiet chewing of Asia as she munched on the goodness that was an apple fritter, the breeze carrying the scent to his nose making him slightly regret giving up one of his treats.
While Asia walked beside him stuffing her face like a squirrel she kept taking peaks at him, as if trying to read his intentions, but Emrys offered her nothing more than a calm demeanor knowing he had no ill intentions for the girl.
Soon they arrived at the hotel, and if anyone else saw the scene of him, a massive six foot five inch man dressed in all black leather, courtesy of Tiamat, taking an innocent and naive little nun into a hotel they would think he was taking advantage of her, but even then he wouldn't care.
Going inside Emrys booked two rooms across from each other and ordered some room service for Asia to ensure she was comfortable and after setting a barrier around the room and showing her how to use the television he left telling her he would be back soon.
Walking across the hall Emrys sat in his own room contemplating what he was going to tell Tiamat about bringing back an excommunicated nun. In the end it was simply because he felt like it, but the fact that Asia has Twilight Healing would be the key as he would tell Tiamat that he brought Asia to help him train more efficiently, which he could do, so it wasn't a lie.
Leaning back in his chair he lost himself in his thoughts for a few minutes before he heard a knock on the door, snapping him out of his self induced trance. Standing to welcome his guest, Grayfia entered with her usual poise, this time dressed in her maid uniform with her hair tied in braids giving a different appeal that he also enjoyed.
"I apologize for being late", she said in her professional tone, but her face held a soft smile as if meeting a long lost friend.
"It's fine, but I need to talk to you about something important." Emrys said, gesturing for her to sit across from him as they would need to talk before getting down to do the horizontal tango.
She tilted her head curious, but squinted as she most likely realized that it had to do with their deal and he explained his inability to perform the expansion ritual due to the seal still being intact, so the contract needed to be voided and Grayfia's expression turned complicated, but she relayed the response of Sirzechs.
"Sirzechs was willing to give up his… physical rights to me," Grayfia began delicately, "as long as I remain his Queen and fulfill my duties in that capacity. In return, he asks that you not get back together with Rias." finishing with a rather awkward tone as Emrys understood why she was so reluctant. She was basically being traded to ensure that he would leave Rias alone, but the entire reason Gayfia even slept with him was so he would consider getting back with Rias.
Emrys's eyes narrowed. He could see why the man known as the Sis-Con Satan would offer such a deal, considering last time he met Grayfia he showed little regard in getting back together with Rias, but that was before he decided to stop being a little bitch and as long as she was truthful about not sleeping with Issei he would face the world with a smile.
And even if he was simply going off worth. Currently while Grayfia was stronger than Rias she would be able to become an ultimate class devil within a year and including Rias' peerage while weak at the moment they also had the potential to be absolute monsters, so why would he give that up for Grayfia when all they would do is fuck once a week and she would most likely still be loyal to Sirzechs.
Most importantly Emrys knew that while Grayfia liked him, she didn't love him and last he checked Rias was willing to let her sister-in-law sleep with him to win him back, the choice was obvious.
"No," Emrys said finally, his voice firm. "I reject his deal. If what you told me about Rias is true, I'll take her back. I'd prefer someone who loves me over someone who only likes me."
The only reason the pact was made was so they could continue to have sex as the deal was simply a guise for Emrys and Grayfia to meet without having to sneaking around, because if any devils found out the rumors would damage the reputation of both Sirzechs and Grayfia and she seemed to realize the same, so after a long moment she sighed, her shoulders relaxing.
"As you wish," she said, leaning forward to wrap him in a warm hug. Before she pulled away, she pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, her expression unreadable. "Take care, Emrys and please keep this a secret."
With that she left teleporting away and Emrys stood there for a moment slightly at a loss, knowing that Grayfia most likely wouldn't meet up with him again. Keeping it a secret wasn't hard and Emrys knew Grayfia asked for Sirzechs sake because if Rias knew she would likely not talk to her brother out of disgust.
He pulled it out to send a quick text to Rias, letting her know that he was going to speak to her soon.
[We need to talk at the end of the month.]
As for why a month, it gave him more time to train before he committed to a relationship once more and while at first an excuse the thought of using Asia as a pocket healer to enhance his training was a tempting thought and if Ajuka's calculations were right he'd be in a High-Class Dragon by then and he confident in fighting the overgrown crow known as Kokabiel.
Pocketing his phone, Emrys went to retrieve Asia from the neighboring room. She looked up from the television confused yet entertained as there was a live action magical girl show on, which upon closer inspection had the Magical Girl Levi-tan, a show where the protagonist happened to be Serafall Leviathan, current Satan of the New Satan Faction.
Asia looked at him with innocent curiosity as he explained their next destination. "We're going to the Familiar Forest, it's time for me to train and while there I'll see if I can get in contact with Heaven." he said knowing well that he was just going to ask Tiamat for the contact info or later ask one of the Satans.
Asia followed without hesitation, trusting him implicitly. When they arrived, the dense forest hummed with demonic energy as they were now in the underworld which made Asia cringe slightly, but she pushed through and no sooner had they stepped onto the path Tiamat appeared in her dragon form her towering presence having appeared so suddenly that Emrys almost launched an attack before realizing who it was.Differing from the reception he expected, Tiamat's gaze was fixed on Asia.
"You've found a dragon tamer?" she asked, her booming voice laced with intrigue and he remembered what made Asia so important later in the story as she was a dragon tamer capable of making a contract with Fafnir, one of the Five Dragon Kings and some labeled Asia the 'Dragon Priestess' for taming four of the mass produced evil dragons, something only an evil god was said to be capable of.
Shaking his head Emrys recounted the story briefly, including Asia's situation. Tiamat listened carefully before nodding in acceptance. "You've chosen wisely," she said, offering Asia a rare smile that looked out of place on a dragon, "Welcome, little one, my name is Tiamat the Chaos Karma Dragon and though I hope you will join us fully, I will still contact Micheal or Gabriel."
Asia bowed deeply, her voice trembling with awe. "Thank you for having me."
After Tiamat turned her gaze back to Emrys, the corners of her mouth curving upwards even more, going from a soft smile to one a full blown maniac, "Now Emrys, let's talk about your habit of doing whatever you want without discussing it with me or even informing me first." She said, picking Asia up and placing her on the side gently before her aura gushed out locking Emrys in place from the sheer weight of it, "Asia get ready, because you're going to be healing this idiot a lot."
There was a tiny voice in the back of his head telling him to run, but it was drowned out by the beating of his heart as he got ready to face Tiamat once more. Sure he'd likely get beaten even worse than before because there was a healer on standby, but all that meant was that he could fight more.
-Grayfia-
She was unsure how to go about her current predicament, first being told by Sirzechs that he would give her up in exchange for Emrys not getting back with Rias angered Grayfia. She knew her husband had an unhealthy obsession with Rias, but she didn't know it went this far.
The entire reason she slept with Emrys was so the dragon would consider getting back with Rias, but after getting a taste of what he had to offer she wasn't completely against it. Alas Emrys chose Rias over her, which stung her pride as a woman, however the initial plan worked out in the end with Emrys saying that he would get back together with Rias, so she'd consider it a win as she hoped the best for the two.
And now that he made the decision Sirzechs would likely never let her lay with Emrys again, but she was considered one of the most desired women in the Underworld, so hopefully she'd find someone else in the future as the thought of sleeping with Sirzechs anytime soon was out of the question.
Even now as she reflected Grayfia couldn't fault Emrys for his decision as he chose the woman that would be more loyal to him. She'd miss her tryst with him but what he said was true, she loved her life as a devil more than she cared for him. After all, while she's known of Emrys for years, only recently did they start talking and that wasn't enough of a connection to give up her Sirzechs, Milicas and the rest of the Gremory family.
That's not mentioning the seal was meant to be permanent, so even the person who cast it couldn't undo it and with limited access to his power for the foreseeable future, so even the pact that they made was null and void and now she had to find Sirzechs and explain the situation before he does something drastic, because while she was angry with her husband she didn't want to see him make a decision that he would regret.
-Rias-
Sitting on the edge of her bed in the dimly lit room was Rias, her scarlet hair spilled over her shoulders and her eyes fixed on the wall which she made into a personal mural with painstaking effort. It was a collection of photographs, memories captured over the past two years.
Emrys was the subject of nearly all of them. Some only showed his smile, others his thoughtful expressions when in class. Each image told a story, and together, they formed a tapestry of her unyielding feelings for him.
Standing up she approached the mural and gently brushed one of the photos, her heart aching. She knew that Grayfia was likely with him at that very moment, being pounded into oblivion, getting dick that belonged to her. The thought made Rias' stomach churn with jealousy and frustration, but she swallowed the bitterness. She had made mistakes, she knew that. But she wasn't going to let them define her future.
She would win him back, no matter what.
Her phone buzzed on the bed beside her, the vibration breaking her reverie. With a quiet sigh, she reached for it, assuming it was Akeno or another member of her peerage. But as her eyes landed on the screen, her breath hitched.
[Emrys: We need to talk at the end of the month.]
For a moment, her mind went blank, the text on her blurring as her emotions surged and as reality set in, she let out an elated yell, loud and unrestrained. Leaping up and down, clutching her phone as though it were a lifeline.
"Yes! Yes! Yes!" Rias exclaimed, her voice echoing through the room. In her excitement and wanting to share the good news she burst through the door and into the main area for the ORC, her room being connected as she often stayed the night to finish work or when she was simply too lazy to walk home.
Akeno and Koneko, who had been sitting in the common area, turned to Rias, both slightly startled.
"Rias, what's gotten into you?" Akeno asked, tilting her head slightly as an amused smile graced her lips. Koneko, on the other hand, merely raised an eyebrow, also curious, her always blank expression tinged with mild curiosity. Practically skipped over to them, her phone held out triumphantly.
"Emrys messaged me! He wants to talk at the end of the month!" Rias said with excitement at the message showing two of her closest confidants.
Akeno's smile widened, though her sharp eyes betrayed her cautious optimism. "That's good news, Rias, but it doesn't mean everything is fixed."
"I know," Rias said, still beaming. "But this is my-not our chance! He's willing to talk, which means we still have a shot and with him not being sealed he might accept you two now, so we've got until the end of the month to prepare."
Koneko folded her arms, her small frame leaning back against the couch. "We have to prepare for nothing, I don't like him." The white haired teen said, turning away even as both Rias and Akeno looked at her with incredulous expression. Rias herself remembered the first time she caught Koneko masturbating was to the underwear of Emrys that the thieving cat stole and likely still had.
But not wanting to ruin her good mood Rias simply let it go knowing that Koneko would join her, "Well I'm not giving up. I'll prove to him that I'm serious, that I've learned from my mistakes and that means if that means becoming stronger, more independent, or even taking on Tiamat herself, I'll do it." she confidently stated.
"Well, since Koneko doesn't seem to be interested I'll gladly lend a helping hand. It seems like we're in for an eventful month." Akeno said with a soft chuckle, brushing a lock of her raven hair behind her ear even as Koneko stiffened and glared at the buxom teen in agitation at her teasing.
Rias nodded firmly, her mind already racing with plans. She wouldn't let this chance slip through her fingers. Emrys was giving her an opening, and she'd be damned if she didn't take it.
AN: The yandere runs in the Gremory blood and I did it like this because I honestly do like Rias and wanted to give her some love, I will introduce Grayfia again, but for now she's in the back running around trying to keep Sirzechs from ruining his reputation.
