Ch-0.01 | Enchanting the cores

Barns stood there, wide-eyed, his brain reeling at the sheer enormity of the task his lord had just handed him.

To enchant 250,000 magic cores for a 10% efficiency boost wasn't just monumental—it was unprecedented. He could almost hear the collective groan of the alchemists back in the lab when he relayed this request.

Still, there was no room for hesitation. This was his lord's command, and Barns took pride in carrying out the impossible for the one who cared so deeply for his people.

Gathering his composure, he straightened his back and responded with a bow, his voice steady despite the tumult in his heart.

"As you command, my lord. I will see to it that this task is completed to perfection."

His lord nodded, a faint smile on his face as if to say, I trust you completely. That simple expression was enough to rekindle Barns' determination.

Back at the lab, Barns gathered the senior alchemists and his master to discuss the plan. The room was abuzz with murmurs as he laid out the request. Some gasped, others looked incredulous, but his master simply smirked.

"Well, isn't this a challenge worth our talents?" she said, folding her arms.

"Barns, rally the enchanters and allocate shifts. We'll need the best quality assurance we can manage to handle this volume."

Barns nodded, already jotting down notes. "We'll need to stock up on stabilizing agents, and... maybe tap into the reserves of elven catalysts we acquired last month. It's the only way to keep up with the potency demands."

One of the senior alchemists raised a hand. "If we're enchanting at this scale, we should consider reinforcing the workshop's magic conduits. The last thing we need is an overload shutting everything down."

His master nodded. "Good point. Barns, secure the budget for the conduits. I'm sure he will approve it."

Barns chuckled softly. "He probably already knows. The way he plans, it's as if he sees the future."

The master raised an eyebrow. "Then let's make the future he envisions even better. Let's get to work."

Mana crystals were being transported on a daily basis, my lord is a God.. The stuffs we idolized as the rarest goods, we get them on batch daily.

Following master suggestion, I had them dig out another room and placed the mana crystals there, top and bottom covered by this rarity goods.

Once the room was completed, my master told me that there were rooms like this in a laboratory of every branch... Mages have one, swordsman have one, literally everyone owns one.

This is enough to show how important this room was, it even has a name.

"Mystical knowledge room."

Once the alchemist learnt about the room and how they could make use of it from time to time..

Over the following weeks, the laboratory bustled like never before.

The alchemists worked day and night, their movements synchronized as though orchestrated by an unseen hand.

Barns oversaw everything, ensuring the workflow ran smoothly and the enchantments met the highest standards.

Every now and then, his thoughts drifted back to his lord, who seemed to place infinite trust in his capabilities.
