Chapter 9 - Prologue

Shuffling sounds were heard in the bushes outside Blake's mansion. Startled he woke up unsure of what the noise was. Tessa lay peacefully on his chest oblivious to the noise.

" I guess it's the squirrels" he reassured himself. Not long had he closed his eyes when a sharp whistling sound pierced the air.

He rubbed his hands on Tessa's shoulder. His hand felt damp; his pajamas too. Something felt wrong. He became fully alarmed.

With fear and curiousity, he lifted the duvet. Blood stains filled the bed. Tessa's warm body had grown cold. There was a bullet wound to her neck.

Another bullet struck hitting Blake this time. " Tessa don't do this to me" he cried holding her to his chest. His voice cracked.

Blood spurted out from his wound. Clouded with blurry vision, he faded into the darkness.
