Chapter 32 - End of chaos

Shan knelt beside the lifeless body of the Celestial King, his hands trembling with rage and sorrow. Tears streamed down his face, his cries echoing across the battlefield. Rosy stood behind him, equally devastated, her hands covering her mouth as she struggled to process what had just happened.

But then something changed. Shan's breathing grew heavier, and a strange, pulsating energy began to radiate from him. Rosy turned to him, alarmed. "Shan? What's happening?"

Shan's head snapped up, and his eyes glowed a deep, ominous red. The sheer intensity of his aura made the air around him thick and oppressive. Rosy staggered back, shielding her face from the wave of power. "Shan! Stop! What's happening to you?"

Before she could get an answer, the Crystal Carrier—once wielded by the Celestial King—suddenly rose from the ground. It vibrated with a furious energy, glowing brighter and brighter, before flying directly into Shan's outstretched hand.

The Dark Devil, who had been watching with a smug grin, now froze in shock. "No… this is impossible! How is he able to tame it?"

Shan rose to his feet, gripping the Crystal Carrier tightly. The weapon's golden crystal blazed with such intensity that the remaining legion soldiers disintegrated instantly under its sheer aura. Even the ground beneath Shan cracked and crumbled, unable to withstand the immense power radiating from him.

The Dark Devil's grin faltered, replaced by a look of genuine fear. "That… that aura… It's even stronger than the Celestial King's."

Shan's voice echoed, layered and resonant as if countless voices spoke through him. "You've taken everything from me. You've taken my father. You've taken my peace. Now, I'll take everything from you."

The Dark Devil snarled, masking his fear with bravado. Suddenly, he moved faster than anyone could react, grabbing Rosy and holding her tightly, his claws dangerously close to her throat.

"If you come any closer," the Dark Devil hissed, "she dies."

Rosy gasped, her wide eyes darting to Shan. "Shan, don't! He'll—"

But Shan's glowing red eyes remained fixed on the Dark Devil. His grip on the Crystal Carrier tightened, and its golden light intensified. The Dark Devil's confidence wavered as he felt the sheer heat of the weapon's energy.

"No! Stay back!" the Dark Devil barked.

Shan didn't hesitate. With a single, swift motion, he swung the Crystal Carrier, releasing a beam of concentrated light that struck the Dark Devil. The impact sent shockwaves across the battlefield, forcing even the heavens to rumble.

The Dark Devil roared in pain, but as a last act of defiance, he hurled Rosy into a dark portal. The endless void swirled behind her, its edges crackling with unstable energy.

"No!" Shan shouted, his voice breaking through the chaos as he watched Rosy disappear into the portal.

The Dark Devil staggered back, injured but still defiant. His laughter was hoarse but mocking. "She's gone now, boy. She can be in any world, any timeline. Go ahead—try to find her!"

Before Shan could strike again, another gate appeared behind the Dark Devil. The swirling energy of the portal pulled him in, his form disappearing into the shadows. His voice echoed one last time as he vanished: "Your suffering has only begun, Shan. We will meet again."

As the battlefield grew silent, Shan stood frozen, the Crystal Carrier still glowing in his hand. His red eyes dimmed, but his heart burned with a mix of rage and despair.

"Rosy…" he whispered, his voice trembling.

For the first time since the battle began, Shan felt utterly powerless. He had defeated the Dark Devil's army, but at a cost he never anticipated. Now, with the Crystal Carrier in hand and a new determination burning in his soul, Shan resolved to do the impossible: find Rosy, no matter where—or when—she was.

The Crystal Carrier pulsed in his hand, as if responding to his thoughts. It was more than just a weapon—it was a key. And Shan vowed to use it to unlock every gate, every world, to bring her back.
