Selena
I crouched behind Ella's parked car, my heart thudding in my chest. The cold metal of the car door pressed against my back as I tried to blend in. Evening was fast approaching and my stomach growled loudly, a cruel reminder of how hungry I was.
'Damn you, Ella.' I clenched my fists, biting back a string of curses.
I was furious with her. Not just for tricking me into coming here but for the audacity to enjoy herself while I stood outside, starving and stranded. She had driven us here, and I hadn't brought a single cent.
On top of that, the thought of skipping my only meal of the day made my blood boil.
At least I didn't have to deal with work today, it was Sunday. Small mercies, I supposed.
Then the restaurant doors swung open, and out walked Richard.
I sucked in a sharp breath, pressing myself further into the shadows. 'No way.'
