Chapter 14 - "Turbulent Hearts and Secret Desires"

Rahul was sitting in his cabin, reading a file.

Suddenly, he received a message on his phone. He checked and saw it was from the bank. A sum of 1.5 lakh rupees had been withdrawn from his account.

Rahul was shocked. As he read the message, he realized the money had been withdrawn by Vinita using his card.

Rahul immediately called Vinita. She picked up the call after three rings.

Rahul: "What is this, Vinita? You withdrew 1.5 lakh rupees from my account?"

Vinita (casually): "Yes, so? Why are you shouting?"

Rahul: "If I don't shout, what should I do? You've withdrawn such a large amount. Can I at least know why you needed so much money?"

Vinita: "Rahul, it's my brother's wedding. Weddings are expensive."

Rahul: "I agree that weddings are expensive, but this much? This amount is not enough to cover an entire wedding. What did you need so much money for?"

Vinita: "What I need it for is my business, not yours. The way you're speaking to me makes me feel like you can't afford my expenses."

Rahul ran his hand over his head and spoke firmly:

Rahul: "Vinita, I've never said no to anything you've asked for. You always do as you please. Have I ever left any of your needs unmet? But withdrawing 1.5 lakh rupees at once?!"

Vinita: "Are you going to ask me to account for every rupee now?"

Rahul: "I'm not asking you for an account; I'm just asking why you needed so much money."

Vinita: "I bought a diamond set and paid for it using your card."

Rahul: "Vinita, you already have plenty of jewelry. Just during Diwali, you bought jewelry worth 1 lakh rupees, and as far as I know, you haven't even used any of it."

Vinita: "Listen, Rahul, I'm not in the mood to argue with you. There's a wedding in my family, and I want to attend it without any stress. I bought a set with your money, and you're making a fuss about it. If it's such a problem, just tell me, and I'll return it. Wait a minute—why should I return it? My dad will get it for me if I ask. He's never refused me anything."

Rahul: "Shut up, Vinita! You won't ask your dad for anything. If you want that set, then keep it. Don't you dare ask your family for money. Whatever you need, buy it with my card."

Vinita: "Why? First, you had a problem giving me the money, and now when I say I'll take it from Dad, you're stopping me."

Rahul: "I've never refused you money. I was just asking. If you had told me before using the card, I wouldn't have stopped you."

Rahul hung up the phone. Once again, he had argued with Vinita. Who was he working so hard for? It was all for Vinita—so he could make her happy, fulfill her needs. But sometimes, it felt like even if he gave his life for her, it wouldn't be enough.

Rahul left his cabin and went to Bhagya's office.

Outside, Bhagya's assistant told him, "Sir isn't in his cabin."

This surprised Rahul because Bhagya usually stayed at the office late into the night, but today, he'd left by 8 PM.

Rahul tried calling Bhagya. The phone rang, but Bhagya didn't pick up. He called multiple times, but there was no response.

Finally, Rahul called Bhagya's driver. The driver informed him that Bhagya was at a club.

Angry and confused, Rahul decided to go there. He couldn't understand why Bhagya had started drinking so much lately.

A little while later, Rahul arrived at the bar where Bhagya was. He went straight to Bhagya's table and asked:

Rahul: "What's your problem? Why are you roaming around like Devdas? No matter how stressed you were before, you never drank like this."

Bhagya (slightly drunk): "So what should I do? I have everything—except peace."

Rahul: "You didn't have peace before either, but at least you tried to sleep it off with random girls. Now you're just ruining yourself."

Bhagya: "Earlier, I was wandering, searching for peace. Now, I'm just tired—tired of fighting with myself, tired of convincing myself that I'm completely alone in this world."

Rahul: "If you're tired, then stop. If your steps are faltering, get back on the right path. Just say the word, and I'll bring your happiness to you."

Bhagya: "You're trying to make me happy? Look at your face. Anyone can tell you fought with your wife again today."

Rahul: "That's my usual story. Every time I think I'll avoid fighting with Vinita, she finds a way to start one."

Bhagya: "Your life's a mess, and you're offering to fix mine?"

Rahul: "What else can I do? I can't leave her. It feels like even if I gave her my life, she wouldn't care."

Bhagya: "If your wife doesn't care about your life, maybe someone else will."

Rahul: "There's no one who cares about me."

At that moment, music started playing:

"Elesta Noche La Vida Es Completa"

Rahul's attention shifted to the center of the bar, where a woman in a stunning dress was dancing.

As he focused, he realized it was the same girl he'd bumped into at the coffee house—Priya.

---

Priya noticed Rahul watching her and gave him a cute smile. Rahul smiled back.

Bhagya noticed their interaction and teased Rahul:

Bhagya: "She's just a kid, and you're married!"

Rahul: "Shut up. I know her. Her name is Priya. We've met before."

Bhagya: "Oh, you know her? Then it's fine."

While Rahul and Bhagya were talking, Priya approached them cheerfully:

Priya: "Sir, you're here?"

Rahul: "Yes, I came to pick up my friend. But forget that—what are you doing here? Come to meet another boy?"

Priya (laughing): "No, sir! I'm just enjoying with my friends. Come join us!"

Rahul: "No, you guys enjoy. We were just about to leave."

After Priya left, Bhagya gave Rahul a suspicious look.

Rahul: "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Bhagya: "I'm just wondering—have you ever spoken so sweetly to your wife?"

Rahul: "Shut up and let's leave."

---

Two days before the wedding, preparations were almost complete. Guests and relatives had started arriving. But Vivek, the groom, showed no interest in the arrangements or meeting anyone.

In his room, Vivek was talking to Juhi on the phone:

Vivek: "Juhi, stop being childish. Don't do anything stupid."

Juhi: "I'm serious. If you marry Shree, I'll end my life. Her wedding carriage will leave, and my funeral procession will follow."

Vivek: "Juhi, what do you want me to do?"

Juhi: "Let's elope. Our families will be angry for a while, but eventually, they'll forgive us. We're their children, after all."

Vivek: "Do you realize what you're saying? This will ruin the reputation of both families."

Juhi: "You care more about family reputation than my life? Sometimes I feel like you don't love me at all."

Vivek: "It's not like that. I really love you. But I feel helpless right now."

Juhi: *"I don't care what you do or don't do. All I know is, if you bring your wedding procession

Juhi hung up, leaving Vivek feeling hopeless. He shut his eyes tightly in frustration.

When he turned toward the door, he froze in shock.
