Chapter 203 - Dementors

After some time, Harry seemed to have discovered the golden light that led the Golden Snitch. He mounted his Nimbus 2000 and flew high into the sky.

But at that moment, the entire sky suddenly seemed to darken, and all surrounding sounds seemed to disappear, leaving only silence and coldness over the vast Quidditch pitch.

The wind and heavy rain in the sky were still fierce, but it was as if someone had activated silence here. The little wizards could see the mouths of those around them opening and closing, but they couldn't hear any sound from their mouths.

Feeling the increasingly uncomfortable atmosphere around them, Lynn and Irina, who were in the Slytherin and Gryffindor camps respectively, changed their expressions. They both drew their wands simultaneously and looked cautiously toward the sky.

At least a hundred Dementors, dressed in strange cloaks, appeared in the air at the edge of the Quidditch pitch. These Dementors brought with them an oppressive atmosphere and cold temperatures. Just by looking at them, many little Dementors seemed to emerge from an ice cave.

The endless Dementors seemed to cover the entire sky, their dark clouds radiating an aura that threatened to destroy the city.

Feelings of cold, fear, and despair filled the hearts of every young wizard, and all their happy emotions seemed to disappear from their bodies in an instant.

On the Quidditch pitch, a figure fell from the sky. It was Harry, who had fallen into a coma again under the influence of the Dementors.

In the sky, these creatures, created by dark magic, sensed the emotions of happiness present. They fed on happy emotions and, in fact, ignored the Ministry of Magic's orders, trying to drain the happiness from these little wizards.

Seeing this scene, Lynn and Irina could no longer remain still.

Not to mention if there were friends and allies among the young wizards present, they also understood the truth that no egg would remain unbroken once the nest is destroyed.

"Call upon the gods for protection!"

Lynn and Irina stood up almost at the same time. Standing in two completely different directions within the audience, they both shouted the Patronus Charm in unison.

Not only Lynn and Irina, but also older wizards who had mastered the Patronus Charm stood up, waving their wands and chanting the Patronus spell.

Even some younger wizards, who had just learned the Patronus Charm and could only summon a misty white fog, were trying their best to do their part to protect everyone here.

A faint silvery-white mist spread from all directions in the stands, and various forms of Patroni—squirrels, swimming fish, ocelots, and wild dogs—rose from the ground to greet the edge of the Quidditch pitch. Over a hundred Dementors flew in.

The most dazzling among them was a silver wolf, its entire body radiating silvery-white light, and a silver fox as smooth as white jade. The light from these two Patroni nearly illuminated the entire Quidditch pitch.

Yet still, the silvery-white light emitted by the silver wolf and silver fox was somewhat overwhelmed by the sheer number of Dementors.

Just when people thought the two Patroni would be forced to retreat by the Dementors, the Silver Wolf and Silver Fox actually let out a sharp cry in the air. They ignored the Dementor army in front of them like shadows of destruction and charged towards them. They raced directly towards the hundreds of Dementors.

The silver wolf and silver fox seemed to be fighting for their lives. They ran wildly towards the Dementors, smashing through the Dementor camp and rushing straight toward them.

A wolf and a fox were constantly transported among the Dementor army. Every time they traveled, the pressure the Dementors placed on the young wizards reduced considerably, and the Dementor army's overwhelming pressure continued to dissipate along with the blossoming of this silvery-white light.

Unfortunately, Dementors, as extremely malicious creatures created by dark magic, could not be completely eliminated. Even the Patronus Charm could only drive them back, not destroy them.

Although the silver wolves and silver foxes that entered the Dementor army were powerful, their power had its limits. As they traveled back and forth, the silvery-white light they emitted constantly dissipated.

Time seemed to stretch, but eventually, the two divine protectors were overwhelmed and dissipated into the air.

Lynn and Irina, who were in the Quidditch stadium's audience, took a step back in unison. The reaction triggered by the Patronus they had cast made them feel somewhat uncomfortable.

The two felt as though their previous happy emotions had been cut to pieces by a sharp blade in an instant, and nearly half of their magical power seemed to have dissipated in that moment.

However, despite the physical discomfort, Lynn and Irina were not unhappy; in fact, they both had smiles on their faces.

In the distant sky, the silver wolf and silver fox forced the Dementor army, consisting of hundreds of Dementors, to retreat hundreds of meters at the cost of dissipating. This made each of them feel relieved.

At that moment, the Dementors, hundreds of meters away, did everything they could to finally kill the two Patroni who had constantly disrupted their camp. They let out a series of shrill, angry cries and attempted to return to the Quidditch pitch to attack those young wizards.

But just then, a dazzling silvery-white light, thousands of times more powerful than before, erupted over the Quidditch pitch. This silvery-white light illuminated the dark sky like daylight. No one saw the dazzling silvery-white glow it emitted. The form of a physical Patronus with brilliant silvery-white light appeared.

People only saw those cursed Dementors retreating rapidly as if they had seen something terrible and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

When the silvery-white light dissipated, people immediately turned to see their headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, slowly retracting his wand, his face showing a slight hint of anger.

After Dumbledore cast a cushioning charm on Harry, allowing him to safely land on the ground, he released his Patronus and drove the Dementors away.

At that moment, someone asked, "How much happy emotion did Dumbledore have to release such a powerful Patronus?"

Indeed, two factors were related to the strength of the Patronus—happy emotions and enough magical power. However, happy emotions have an upper limit, while magical power can be infinite.

Perhaps Dumbledore's happiness when casting the Patronus wasn't much stronger than that of Lynn and Irina, but his high-level magical reserve, belonging to an advanced wizard, allowed him to summon a Patronus that covered the entire Quidditch pitch.

At that moment, Dumbledore turned his attention to the young wizards who had previously released their Patronus to resist the Dementors. There was a hint of relief in his eyes, especially when he looked at Lynn and Irina.

He seemed to have not expected that Lynn and Irina could release such powerful Patronus.
