After Hermione hurried off, Harry and Ron also quickly walked toward the Quidditch field.
At that moment, there was less than an hour left until the match began. Irina and Ron walked toward the stands, while Harry, along with the other members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, made their way toward the field, shaking as the applause echoed from the stands.
Oliver Wood, Gryffindor's keeper and captain, jumped into the air and flew around the goalposts to warm up.
On the other side, the Hufflepuff Quidditch team was also walking onto the grass. They wore light yellow uniforms and were gathering to discuss tactics during the final moments before the game began.
In between the two teams, Professor Hooch had released the ball and was preparing to start the match.
However, just as Harry was about to mount his broomstick, Professor McGonagall walked onto the field, running from a distance, holding a large purple microphone in her hand.
"The match is canceled!" Professor McGonagall announced loudly to the packed audience. "All students must return to their common rooms. There, the head of the house will explain the situation further. Please leave as quickly as possible!"
Upon hearing Professor McGonagall's words, Irina's heart sank, as if a stone had dropped into the water.
Something happened to Hermione!
That thought crossed Irina's mind.
But she was somewhat confused. Although Hermione had gone to the library with the others, why was she attacked? Could it be that she left the group for some reason?
With these deep questions in her mind, Irina and Ron walked toward Professor McGonagall.
At that moment, Professor McGonagall was speaking with Harry, and upon seeing Irina and Ron approach, she turned her head. "Potter, I think it's best if you come with me... Actually, perhaps it's better if you both come too, Weasley and Lowell."
Professor McGonagall's words confirmed what Irina had suspected.
Irina followed Professor McGonagall back to the castle with a sense of unease, heading toward the school hospital wing.
"You may be a bit surprised," Professor McGonagall's tone was surprisingly gentle. "Another attack has happened... and not many people were affected."
Irina was taken aback when she saw that, besides Hermione lying in the hospital bed, there were two other petrified Ravenclaw girls!
Was it resolved this way originally?
As long as all the witnesses were killed, it would be a perfect cover-up!
If Hermione and the others around her had been petrified, wouldn't the basilisk's actions have been exposed?
Tom, you're so clever!
Irina cursed inwardly, struggling to accept that a basilisk had turned her best friend into stone.
Not only that, after Hermione was petrified by the basilisk, a series of bad news followed.
Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge arrived at Hogwarts and wanted to imprison Hagrid, suspecting that he had opened the Chamber of Secrets fifty years ago.
Although Irina had given Hagrid a special alchemical account, prepared by Lynn, that could resist Dementors to some extent, it was clear that even with such an account, Hagrid would suffer immensely if imprisoned in Azkaban, surrounded by so many Dementors.
Not only that, but even Dumbledore, the headmaster of Hogwarts, was suspended and expelled from the school.
Of course, with Dumbledore's abilities, it was impossible for him to be banished. The reason he left the castle was simply because he wanted to maintain the ridiculous order.
"Hagrid is my friend, and I couldn't bear to see him locked up in Azkaban for so long."
In the Room of Requirement, Irina said sadly to Lynn.
Lynn and Hagrid could only be described as casual acquaintances. Although they had met a few times, their relationship was merely that of common friends.
But Irina was different. She often visited Hagrid's hut with Harry and the others, and developed a relatively close friendship with him. As a friend, she couldn't bear to see Hagrid suffer such a great injustice.
Irina's beautiful face seemed a little distorted, and her heart was constantly torn.
Finally, she stood up and said seriously, "Lynn, I want to kill the basilisk in advance and put an end to the events of this school year."
Lynn didn't immediately respond to her words. Instead, he cupped his chin in his hands and gazed seriously into her beautiful ice-blue eyes. "But are you ready? I mean, are you prepared for everything to descend into chaos?"
Irina nodded without hesitation and spoke softly, "I believe that since we're here and have the ability to foresee events as time reincarnators, we should guide things in a better direction instead of letting them spiral into a tragedy. What happened with Hermione woke me up, Lynn, and I don't want to let it happen again."
Lynn also stood up. He leaned on the table with both hands and looked at Irina with his deep crimson eyes. "If you draw your bow, there's no going back. Since you've chosen this irreversible path, I'll accompany you. After all, we're time reincarnators, and we're in this together, sharing both the good and the bad."
Lynn leaned back in his chair and said calmly, "To kill the basilisk, we need to do two things. First, we need to steal the Sorting Hat from the headmaster's office, where the Sword of Gryffindor is kept. This sword can break through the basilisk's defenses. Second, we need to get Harry's Parseltongue ability, which will allow us to open the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets."
Irina nodded and asked in a deep voice, "What can I do?"
Lynn replied, "I'll take care of stealing the Sorting Hat. As Harry's good friend, you're responsible for getting him to say the two phrases that will open the Chamber of Secrets. You need to get him to speak them in Parseltongue: 'Open' and 'Yes.' These words were recorded using the double-faced mirror's recording function."
Irina wrote these two phrases down on a piece of paper and agreed.
Lynn continued, "Tomorrow is Monday. I'll go to the headmaster's office when the professors are in class, and you'll find a quiet spot to get the Parseltongue recording. If everything goes well, we may be able to enter the Chamber of Secrets at night."
Irina nodded eagerly to show she understood.
It could be said that what they were about to do would completely break the original plot, so despite being fully prepared, they still felt heavy-hearted as they left the Room of Requirement.
