Chapter 24 - Mithril Carving Knife

Professor McGonagall gave Lynn a Transfiguration Notebook, which recorded her experiences with Transfiguration when she was young. Lynn was pleasantly surprised to find Professor McGonagall's method for applying Transfiguration in real combat! However, it was evident from the brittle texture of the paper that this Transfiguration note had been copied using a Double Duplication Charm, but Lynn was still very happy.

Professor Flitwick gave him a wand care kit, which might help Lynn maintain his wand.

Professor Snape gave him a bottle of the Potion of Joy, which Lynn thought should be saved for Professor Snape himself.

After opening the gifts from the three professors, Lynn took two more gifts, one from the Irwin twins and one from the Weasley twins.

Irvine's gift was a pocket mirror. Unfortunately, Irvine didn't know that Lynn had already learned how to make a mirror.

The Weasley twins' gift was a set of Honeydukes snacks, which Fred and George had spent over a month earning money by improving dungbombs, and they bought it with the galleons they had worked so hard to save.

At that moment, Lynn opened the final gift, which came from his teacher, Professor Green.

"Is this... the Anti-Magic Scepter?!"

As Lynn looked at the gift in the package, he couldn't help but be stunned.

During the Halloween crisis, Lynn activated the Anti-Magic Scepter given to him by Professor Green, which also allowed him to save the dying Professor Green from the hands of the High-level Dark wizard. However, the activation of the Anti-Magic Scepter meant the failure of the single-use alchemy elements.

Unexpectedly, Professor Green had refined another Anti-Magic Scepter as a Christmas gift for Lynn.

Lynn carefully stored the Anti-Magic Scepter and couldn't help but feel a little moved.

After opening all the gifts, Lynn left the dormitory and headed to the auditorium on the first floor of the castle.

At the door of the auditorium, Fred and George walked toward him.

"Thanks, Lynn! We love your gift!" Fred and George said in unison.

What Lynn gave them was a compiled alchemy note, as well as a list of books he had selected based on the book list provided by Professor Green, which was suitable for the Weasley twins to study on their own.

"I really like your gifts too," Lynn said with a smile. He took a Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean from his pocket, made a gesture at the two of them, and tossed it into his mouth. "Ugh! Tastes like socks!"

Lynn's gesture made the two of them laugh.

After a while, when the two had calmed down, Lynn said, "Alright, I have to go to the Defense Against the Dark Arts office to find Professor Green. See you later!"

"See you later!" Fred and George waved goodbye.

After parting from them, Lynn went to the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor's office.

"Master, I'm here. Thanks for the Anti-Magic Scepter!" Lynn bowed slightly to Professor Green and said.

Professor Green simply smiled. He called Lynn to a special alchemy table. This table was used specifically for carving alchemy formations, and it could concentrate the alchemist's attention, enhance the ability to condense magical power, and improve the success rate of operations.

"Your recent progress in alchemy has almost reached the standard to refine a carving knife. It's time for you to create your own carving knife. You will operate everything by yourself, and I will supervise you," said Professor Green, waving his wand, and dozens of different materials appeared on the alchemy table.

Lynn was already prepared for this. He sat down at the alchemy table, then raised his hand and took a prototype mithril carving knife from the pile of materials.

At the same time, other materials on the alchemy table disappeared, and the golden carving knife from Professor Green appeared in Lynn's hand.

Lynn skillfully took the golden carving knife, carved a symbol representing the source of energy into the handle of the mithril carving knife, and then carved a rune center just above it.

Then, Lynn took a special pair of glasses from his pocket. These glasses, engraved with the alchemy circle, acted like a magnifying lens, allowing Lynn to precisely see the position of each carving on the knife.

As time passed, complete alchemy formations appeared on the mithril carving knife, and its blade began to shine brighter and brighter.

Three hours later, Lynn gently carved the last stroke on the mithril carving knife, connecting the final alchemy circle with the rune center and the energy source, fully completing the refinement of the mithril carving knife.

The mithril carving knife seemed to have been reborn. There was an explosion of light and an immense burst of mithril dust exploded from the blade, turning into points of light.

This mithril carving knife seemed incredibly sharp; even the golden carving knife from Professor Green seemed a little inferior in comparison.

Of course, this was indeed the case.

As you know, the carving knife, like a wand, can accompany an alchemist throughout their life.

Although Professor Green is now a famous French alchemist, when he made the golden carving knife, he was just an alchemy apprentice like Lynn, and the golden carving knife he made at that time, naturally, didn't have much renown.

"The perfect carving knife! Remember, Lynn, this carving knife will accompany you for your whole life, never abandon it!"

Professor Green said with admiration. The power of this mithril carving knife truly amazed him.

Lynn held the mithril carving knife with both hands and nodded vigorously.

Professor Green turned around and took a box from a nearby cabinet. This box was covered in alchemy circles.

Professor Green handed the box to Lynn and said, "This box is for storing the carving knife. The alchemy circle on it will help preserve the carving knife."

Lynn opened the box and, although it seemed solid inside, when he tried to place the mithril carving knife in it, the solid part inside began to twist and change. Eventually, a secret space appeared that could accommodate Lynn's knife.

Lynn carefully stored the knife in the box and thanked Professor Green once again.

Professor Green said, "In the next half of the school year, you just need to continue learning more alchemy runes and enrich your foundation. In our Saturday classes, I plan to teach you some practical skills. How does that sound?"

In just over a month, Lynn's alchemy accomplishments had surpassed those of an ordinary alchemist, and deeper knowledge of alchemy would be achieved once his magical power reserves increased. This will help Lynn enhance his abilities further.

Thus, Professor Green currently had little more to teach Lynn in terms of alchemy.

Lynn felt overjoyed when he heard Professor Green's words.

He still clearly remembered the helplessness he felt when facing the Dark wizard on Halloween, so the desire to improve his magical abilities and enhance his combat skills had filled Lynn's heart.
