It was a raging war all over the globe of Ethyros, and the cause was nothing more than the greed of humanity. I wonder if the prayers of the harmed and the poor were ever answered. When will the sufferers see a morning daylight free from bloodshed? Will this ever end?
Battlefield, Somewhere in Ethyros
"Charge!" a knight bellowed, cleaving through anyone who dared cross his path. Heads flew, and blood fell like rain upon the soldiers below, as if the earth itself had been cursed by the endless violence.
"The Lord Commander has fallen!" the marshal shouted, his voice carrying the weight of defeat. "Everyone, retreat!"
As the order echoed through the battlefield, soldiers fled, desperate to escape the chaos. But one knight, newly promoted and still naïve, remained oblivious to the shift in battle. Arden, a young warrior, was too far from the commander's position to realize what had happened. He continued fighting, unaware that his comrades had already retreated. As days turned into weeks, Arden fought alone, convinced his brothers-in-arms had perished. With no rest, no respite, and no supplies, he sustained himself by consuming the flesh of the fallen and drinking the rain that mercilessly fell from the heavens.
Meanwhile, those who had retreated were long dead. They never knew that, when they returned to the palace, it had already been raided and destroyed.
Arden, however, continued to fight, his determination unshaken. It was as if the gods themselves had answered his prayers, granting him the strength to survive against all odds. Alone, but unyielding, he pressed on through the endless carnage.
After 91 days of conflict in Ethyros, Arden emerged from the ruins—not just a knight, but the World Sovereign, Arden Ancaris.
