The night the world ended was eerily beautiful.
The sky fractured like glass, each shard shimmering with iridescent light. From the heavens descended waves of energy, invisible but undeniable, permeating every atom of existence. Mountains groaned and cracked under the strain, oceans churned into maelstroms, and forests erupted with unbridled life. It was the birth of Etherion.
No one knew if it was a gift or a curse. Every living thing, from the smallest insect to the mightiest leviathan, began to evolve. Creatures gained intelligence and power, some transforming into majestic beings of wonder, others becoming monstrosities of terror.
Humanity fared worst. Their cities crumbled under the onslaught of Etherion beasts, and only a handful of survivors remained to tell the tale. But from the ashes of despair rose the first Beastbinders—humans who forged bonds with these creatures, unlocking the ability to wield Etherion themselves. These pioneers led humanity into a new era, where survival depended on partnerships with the beasts that once hunted them.
