Chereads / System: Falling For A Demi-god That I Am Meant To Kill / Chapter 15 - 15. You will regret this

Chapter 15 - 15. You will regret this

The demigod's expression remained unreadable for a moment, his eyes fixed on the young lady who was bold enough to overstep her boundaries by speaking with him directly.

"I like your spirit." He said a hint of a smile crept upon his usually firm face.

"But do you think that I..."

His voice trailed off and Anna's heart sank to the bottom, perhaps she should have taken a different approach rather than speak to the demigod directly because there was no way this man would listen to anyone, let alone herself.

"You know what? Sure." His words cut through the air, leaving everyone in the room astonished, most especially the King.

"I will take you with me, in exchange for more time. But if after three months you haven't born me a son, and the King hasn't found a tear of Naiad, I will wipe out his entire lineage and start afresh...

"That is madness!" Charlie interjected, his furious gaze fixed on Anna,

"Who bears a child in three months?"

The demigod turned to face Charlie, his stapled fingers placed off the broken dining table.

"She is bold enough to do anything, isn't she? Well, then she must be bold enough to bear me a son in three months. I don't care how she intends to do it."

Anna didn't know what to make of the Demigod's decision, his conversation with Charlie made matters worse. Anna didn't know if she could conceive in this world let alone give birth to a child in three months.

The King's face turned red with rage, he walked out of his sitting area toward Anna with a clenched fist...

"Brother!" Charles interrupted him,

"Don't even think about it. What sort of King would that make you?"

Charlie paused, his expression softened a bit, he knew that Anna was trying to help but overreacted because it didn't go the way he planned for it to.

"Isn't this what you wanted me to do, your Majesty?" Anna asked.

"It is," he replied briskly,

"But on my terms, not like this. You just put yourself in the worst possible situation that maiden could ever." He whispered, his tone dripped with concern.

"By the way," the demigod's voice disrupted Charlie's words,

"You should all thank her because I certainly wouldn't have given you more time if not for her confidence."

He stood up and walked up to them, his cold fingers lifted Anna's chin so that she stared into those ocean eyes.

"I will take her with me immediately, I don't have time to sit around for a discussion."

Anna's heart skipped a beat, and a shiver ran down her spine but she would blame that on his cold fingers. The demigod was handsome sure, but she hated him already.

"Let her go, my lord," the Queen spoke up from the seat where she had been holding onto the scared little princess.

"I am certain that she knows what to do. She impressed you with a single dance, let her impress him by keeping her words."

"Very touching," the demigod scoffed,

"But I must leave now to attend to other important matters, Anna comes with me."

"May I get a few minutes to pack my things, my lord?" She requested, but she intended to take a few minutes off, away from the demigod to catch her breath and brace herself for what was coming ahead.

The demigod sneered, his hand caught the young lady's wrist faster than she could withdraw them.

"No," he whispered into her ears,

"As my partner, you would get all the kind of clothes you need and more, as long as you are obedient."

Anna felt a surge of electrifying current run through her veins as the demigod's grip on her wrist tightened, and she couldn't dare to pull away.

"Three months!" The demigod repeated with a loud voice,

"Three months is all you have King Charlie before another man takes your place."

He then pulled Anna closer to him, his hand around her waist and a sanctimonious smirk crept upon his face.

"You will regret this, my darling." He whispered into her ear, sending a shiver down her already weak spine.

For some reason everything about the demigod made Anna's skin crawl, his breath smelt so good, yet she hated them because who uses non-minty fragrances for mouthwash? His cologne was intoxicating but why does she suddenly hate the scent of lavender?

His hair was so smooth and perfect, but it was too long, she gave herself every reason not to like the figure before her and it was working just fine.

The demigod took her out of the Palace, with nothing but the clothes that she had on. And something randomly popped up in her mind, her family. She has waved them goodbye for good to face the real challenge ahead of her.

"Get on," the demigod ordered, pointing to the magnificent black stallion standing next to the fountain.

She climbed on after taking a deep breath, and the demigod's eyes were on her the whole time. She did not see a second stallion which meant that he would be riding on the horse.

"Oh heavens no!" She wanted to exclaim but held back her tongue.

She was irritated when their right arm was wrapped around her waist, while he pulled the rein with the other.

"Does he want to ride this horse with one hand?" Anna wondered, but her curiosity was quenched when the animal started to move, toward a destination that she is yet to know.
