Chapter 1 - Chapter 01.

My body feels like being pierced by thousands of needles. It's so hot that my inside is burning, however, there was no fire. My head feels heavy, and its like my life's flashing before me. I opened my eyes, gazing at an unfamiliar ceiling.

"Where am I?" A question escaped from my mouth. The air feels cold. I looked around.

It was dark, but the moonlight that passed through the curtains lit up the room enough for me to see. The room looked old. The walls were covered with old wallpapers, it has an unusual design that is now fading, but some areas are still visible. Everything was coated in dust. However, unlike the entire room, the bed on which I am currently resting is the only thing that's clean.

My head shocked in pain. I groaned loudly as the pain was unbearable. I can't breathe...

◇◇◇

I woke up.

My body feels alright. I don't feel a single pain. Was it a dream? No, I'm still in this room.

I heard the sound of birds chirping. I stood up and walked slowly close to the large window. I touched the curtain, it was rough. I pulled it aside to see what's beyond the window.

The sight, it feels peaceful... The tree's leaves were yellow that they blended perfectly with the golden sunlight. The wind blew softly, which made the leaves dance. I can't feel it, I can't open the window since it was entirely made of glass.

I fixed my eyes on the only door in this room, I should get out of here... This place is unknown to me, who knows who's house this is.

I pulled the door, but it wouldn't open. The doorknob won't work either. I tried sliding it, and it opened.

A sliding door? This place has usual structures, it's like I'm in a different world.

Outside this room was a large corridor with different paintings hung on the wall. There are also doors—countless doors with each facing one another. I tried opening one door but it was locked. I tried another door, but it was the same.

I walked and walked, but there was no ending walking in this place. It's like I'm just walking in circles. But the paintings are definitely different from the one that's hung in front of my room.

My knees are tired. And my body feels suddenly heavy. I feel like there's someone watching me. I can't move my body, it's like I've been frozen. I turned around, slowly.

A 6-foot figure appeared, only half of its body has been revealed due to the darkness. After all, there were no windows in this corridor, only the chandelier home of dying candles is the only light source.

"Who are you?"

Such a cold voice feels like a cold breeze just entered this closed-up place. The whole place suddenly lit up. Red fire orbs appeared everywhere. It was a magical sight. One of the orbs flew closer towards me, i touched it. It didn't burn my skin.

It feels warm...

I drew my attention back to this mysterious figure that is now fully revealed. His hair was long and white as snow, he seems to be middle-aged, however, his beauty is unmatched. His magnificient bloody eyes—I can't seem to look away anymore. He looked at me up and down, then spoke. "You don't belong here. Go back to where you came from," he said with his deep, icey cold voice.

I hurriedly responded, "I don't even—" before I could continue, it was too late. He suddenly disappeared, as did the red orbs. The place turned dark again. I feel dizzy.

I don't even know where the hell I am.

◇◇◇

I woke up again in the same room, I didn't even remember I fainted. And I don't even know how I came back here.

It's night.

I'm not sure what's happening. But I'm certain, I'm in another reality, where magic and demons exist. I have read some legends and myths about people having red eyes, it stated that only demons can have it.

I'm sure he's a demon.

I'm not a believer in this kind of stuff, but I admit, I was once curious about demons and magics when I was younger. But I knew it was only some make-believe stories, not until now.

My stomach growled. I'm hungry. When was the last time I ate..?

I tried to stand, but my knees have no strength. But still, if I want to survive here, I need to find food. I forced my feet to walk. It hurts. I opened the door and began walking in this endless, dim space. I walked in a different direction this time, hoping I'd find something.

After meters and meters of walking, I found a staircase. The handle was gold, and it has an astonishing design. I was about to step on the first stair when something suddenly appeared in front of me. It was bright. I can't open my eyes properly due to the brightness.

"...Who are you?" Someone suddenly spoke.

I opened my eyes, gazing upon this mysterious creature. Its... a dragon..? But a small one. Its young. Its eyes are just like of a cat and were shiny, just like diamonds. This dragon is adorable. I badly had the urge to squeeze it. Before I could lay my hand on them, they growled. Just like a cat.

I smiled softly. "Don't be afraid..." I said.

This creature is still hesitant towards me. "...I'm Melody, what's your name?" I asked.

They were about to speak but paused. "...Altha." They answered. "I don't really have a name, so i named myself Altha." They added reluctantly. I felt sadness from their voice. They had no name..?

I gave them a soft smile. "Altha... that's a cool name."
