Mommy! Mommy! Where are you? Look what daddy got me!!
M-mommy?
Yup, it's been 12 years since I lost my mom. The home was lively yet the atmosphere was so tensed.
It's been so long since I've smiled genuinely, and know you've been wondering. Where did it all go wrong?
Well, I'll be telling you when it all started.....
It was my 8th year birthday and I was getting myself prepared for my mom to take me out.
I brushed my dark hair and dressed myself in my pink dress my mom bought for me a few days ago, for my birthday.
I did all my necessary thing I needed to do before I left my room.
I ran out of my room as soon as I did my chores, going to my parents room, or what I would like to call it, the room of my mommy's burden.
I hesitantly knocked on the door and waited for someone to attend to me, ruffling noises coming from inside.
It took a while before I heard the wooden door creak open, my mommy's pale face coming to view.
She looked like she was abused and assaulted, by her own spouse.
"Y-yes, darling. Why are you here so early?"my mom stuttered, her eyes avoiding mine.
"My birthday, did you forget? You said you were going to take me out."I muttered, softly, fiddling with my fingers.
"Oh,"she exclaimed, clearly she forgot it was my birthday. But I won't blame her. She has a husband that doesn't care about her and her child at all and she keeps on enduring the pain of him hitting her everyday. Every time she does something bad mistakenly.
"Sorry baby, I totally forgot. I'll go get dressed, wait in the living room."she said and I nodded, happily jumping to the living room and sitting on the couch, waiting patiently for my mom to come out.
About 25 minutes later, my parents room door creaked open, my dad aka evil monster, came out. Coming towards me and squatting, taking my hand in his.
"Amelia dear, why don't I get you a present? You haven't really gotten a thing from me before."my dad said and I shrieked in fear.
I didn't know why my dad would, all of a sudden, take me out on my birthday. My previous birthdays, I never even saw him at home while I celebrated but now?
That really didn't matter to me when I heard I was gonna be given a present.
I nodded hastily and walked out with my father. I never knew what tragedy I would encounter next. I never knew my birthday would turn into a burial.
After my dad got me my present, the newest Barbie doll play set, we got home and I went to look for my mom.
I checked in the kitchen, the dining, my room, my parents room but I couldn't find her.
I started feeling scared, that my mom has left me, maybe she was tired of celebrating my birthday.
I wandered around the house and ended up in the basement, opening the brown wooden door and entering inside.
Mommy! Mommy! Where are you? Look what daddy got me!!
M-mommy?
My whole world shattered at the sight, my mom, covered in her own blood, lying in the middle of the room. She wasn't moving as I rushed to her.
My eyes were already red, tears pouring out of them like a waterfall.
"Mommy? Wake up, you haven't taken me out yet."I groggily said, wiping my tears and looking for my doll that fell from my hand at the door.
"M-mommy, mommy. Look, daddy bought me a Barbie doll, what are you going to get me? Please get up and let's celebrate my birthday together....." Someone entered the room, making me turn back, looking at me dad.
"Daddy *sniff, tell mommy to wake up. She owes me a birthday gift."I wailed at my dad and he looked at me with pity, or I guessed it was.
"Amelia, mommy is dead, she's not coming back. You just have to live with it now."my dad said with a fake apologetic tone, but my small brain couldn't figure out why he was suddenly caring and why he suddenly got me a present on my birthday.
"Daddy, she's not dead! She's just sleeping, tell her to wak-"
Slap!
My dad slapped me, making me tear up more. All my life, my parents haven't laid their fingers on me, but now, I don't know why my dad slapped me.
"She is dead Amelia! Live with it now, there's nothing you can do about it!"he shouted and my sniffles increased by the second.
My mother cannot be dead, she said she would take me out just a few hours ago. If she's dead, she won't wake up again, I won't see her again. No one will take me to school everyday, no one will buy me presents every year. No one will sing me lullabys every night, no one will cook my favourite food and buy me my favourite snacks again.
I watched as my father walked out of the room while making a call, "yes. Come pick up her body, we'll bury her today."my father said coldly to the phone before I couldn't see him anymore.
I fell on my knees and cried hard, I will miss my mom so much. She decided to leave me like this today, on my birthday, on the very day I needed her most. I've lost my mom.
A few hours later, some men came to take my mom away, my dad snatched my arm tightly, "let's go for your mom's burial, take this dress."he said, shoving an all black dress in my arms and pushing me to my room to get dressed.
I wore the black dress hesitantly, with a crying face and went out, to my dad's car and he smiled wickedly after looking at me.
"My pretty little princess is looking beautiful in black,"he muttered, "i know you will miss your mom, but you have to forget about her sooner or later. We was a useless wife."
My eyes widened, hearing what he just said. She was the best wife anyone could ask for and is the best mom I'll ever have in my life.
We arrived at the cemetery and the priest conducted the burial with a few of my dad's men, my dad and me.
He didn't even inform my mom's family about her death.
I just wish I could just go to her and stay with her forever.
My heart tightened and my breath seized,I felt dizzy and I fainted in the middle of the readings.
I wouldn't be surprised if my dad would care if I died or live. All I know is he's suffocated and tired of me and mom.
Now I don't know how I would run away from his torture in the future.
