Chereads / Revenge of the fallen angels / Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

Chapter 27 - Chapter 27

Martha's eyes were filled with a sense of relief and at the same time so joyful as she looked at her daughter that she saw nothing but her. She was not interested in what was going on around her as she was enchanted by the radiance emanating from her. The girl radiated the protection Martha had placed on her at birth.

The teenager, on the other hand, looked at her mother with large black eyes, looking like an intrigued child experiencing something for the first time.

However, her attention was particularly drawn to the presence of the fallen angels — two beings she intended to get rid of from the town at all costs. She knew their intentions and knew perfectly well what they wanted, so she decided to give it to them.

- Rosalie... - The girl felt a bond connecting her to her mother. She had no doubts about whom this unusual being been.

- You don't have to say anything because I know what you are striving for.... You desire freedom, which this town will never give you," she turned to her mother, ignoring her longing gaze. - You don't have to ask me for help, because I intend to free you from here.

Martha took tentative steps, wanting to get closer to her daughter and touch her. She raised her hand, but Rose moved away from her, not intending to allow her to make affectionate gestures. She intended to send her away from this place, so she waited for the day when she would find her and ask for help.

Her mother was a threat to her. Her presence could bring her trouble, so she wanted her to leave this place once and for all. She wasn't going to treat her like a family member, since she left her after she was born. Even though she knew it was all related to her protection, she wanted it to stay that way. She didn't need her. She had a person by her side whom she treated as a friend, and she was only going to fight for him.

Sending them away from this place was the perfect solution for Tom to find support in her and for the two of them to maintain their friendship. With her, he could remain safe.

- Rosalie, let me... - With tears in her eyes she wanted to touch her daughter, but the girl was not going to let her.

- If you want to do this, you have little time. Tell them where they should appear. - After these words she disappeared, leaving Marthe with a broken heart.

Angelica pressed her hand to her chest and closed her eyelids, trying to come to terms with her rejection. She hoped for nothing, as she expected her daughter to be hostile to her. She was a stranger to her, who simply gave her life and provided protection from the danger lurking around.

Furthermore, she shouldn't have deluded hopes, and should be glad that despite this, Rose agreed to help them so easily. It was as if she herself desired it.... As if she intended to throw them out of this town. Forever, to experience the desired peace.

With a slight smile on her face, she watched their uncertain faces as they appeared on the closed road, stopping in front of the wall formed by the Archangels. The wall was an invisible barrier that did not allow begins to leave this town.

Rosalie had waited too long for this moment. She wanted nothing more than to drive Tom's parents, as well as her mother, out of the town.

Her dream was to take over this small town; to have an important person by her side who would always remain by her side no matter what.

When Tom's parents are gone, then no one will take away her only friend.

Rose raised the corners of her mouth upward when she sensed the hostile attitude of the fallen angel.

Alison carefully measured the teenager when she decided to reveal herself. In appearance, she resembled her mother, although as Lucifer's daughter, she was particularly phenomenal. Her beauty was dazzling to the point that she felt a grip of envy.

Out of the corner of her eye, she glanced at Jack when he unexpectedly took her hand.

- Let's stop this childishness. With the departure of this place, we will forget everything and once again be able to live a life of freedom as we once did and without any control. We won't have to hide from anyone.

- Do you think I will let you leave? - She snorted under her breath. - I'll find you even on the other side of the world, you asshole. I don't advise you to make up anything stupid because since I lost my wings, I've become very spiteful.

Rosalie couldn't stand the stares of her mother, who was hoping for a miracle that the girl would leave the place with her, so she ignored her all the time.

- Do you know why you found me so easily? Because waiting too long became tedious. I directed you to the right place because I wanted you to pay me a visit," she spoke, especially directing these words to Jack. - Only with my help did you succeed. Don't think to yourself that you are special. I have wonderful skills and rather owe them to my daddy. - She stuck a mocking look at Martha.

- Why did you want us to find you? - Alison didn't trust a teenager with a devilish look. She was Lucifer's daughter, so this creature could be dangerous and extremely cunning.

- I wanted you to leave this town as soon as possible because I intend to take over, and you are the strongest," she stated unceremoniously, casting Alison a contemptuous glance. - You may be the weakest link, but you must leave with Jack.

- What a good heart you have, child," she mocked, smiling under her breath. Rosalie ignored her answer and put her hand against the invisible barrier. The girl was so strong that the power imposed by the Archangel was unable to reject her. If another angel or demon had done so, it would undoubtedly have flown off across the street.

They were watching her with fascination in their eyes when a blinding light flashed. Martha shouted for them to close their eyes and told them to run ahead. Jack grabbed Alison's hand and led her with him. Right behind them appeared Martha, who was pushed by her daughter.

With indignation in her eyes, she looked at Rose as she moved her hand away from the barrier and closed the passage. This all happened so quickly and unexpectedly that it made them anxious.

- Why did you do this?

- Because I didn't want you to stay with me, and that's what you planned to do," she replied, shrugging her shoulders. A happy smile appeared on her face. - I have been waiting for the moment when I will get rid of you, but before you leave I have a small gift for you," she announced, directing these words to Jack and Alison. - Such a nice farewell gift that will perhaps melt your petrified hearts.

Rose disappeared, and all four looked at each other with a little concern in their eyes. They were shocked that it had all happened so quickly and without any problems.

This child had a plan and wanted to get rid of them from the town at all costs.

When she returned a sultry smile appeared on her face.

- Did you think you would find paradise on the other side? - She sneered, shaking her head. - Didn't you think about the fact that if I have such power, why don't I use it and escape? - At this point she broke off and looked carefully at each of them. - You may have found freedom, but this is also a place worse than hell and anything can kill you. I thought you were cunning beings, and it's sad that you haven't realized that the Archangels are not fools, and if ever a being manages to escape, once he crosses the barrier he loses his powers and everything, literally everything can kill him, just like an ordinary person," she replied, crossing her arms on her chest. - Because that's what you have transformed into.

Alison threw them a concerned look, but Jack and Michael looked as if they knew this perfectly well. This child's warning made no impression on them.

- Kid, do you think we didn't know about it? We ran away from there because we know what you will lead to in the near future.

A secretive smile appeared on her face.

- This sword indeed has many advantages," she declared, looking at the place where Martha hid it. - But on the other side it will be of no use to you. You won't come back here again because I won't let you.

- You are mistaken. We still have a chance.

Rosalie squinted, not expecting such an attitude from them.

She raised an eyebrow when she sensed her friend's presence. She knew he would agree. Furthermore, she was confident that he would decide to see his parents because she knew his thoughts. She knew the thoughts of everyone who was in the town. Be it a human being or a powerful being. No one could hide from her.

- I'm afraid that on the other side of the barrier little feelings will be revived in you, so it will be a perfect spectacle for me to see your terrified faces.

Alison opened her eyes wider at the sight of a teenage boy who bore a striking resemblance to her man. She felt an unpleasant tightness in her chest, so she put her hand to her chest and stepped back, shocked by the sight of her son.

Jack, on the other hand, looked deeply confused. He furrowed his brow and fixed his gaze on the diabolical girl, who seemed amused by his reaction.

- Who is this child?

- That's funny. Alison loves you so much, and she didn't even mention to you that you have a wonderful son?

When he fixed his eyes on the fallen angel, only then did she see real anger in them, and disappointment at the same time.

- Alison?

- It was a secret that I intended to hurt you. I wanted you to suffer after all that you have done to me over the past years.

His face expressed pain and at the same time extreme bitterness, so it was a sight Alison had not experienced for a long time. She didn't think, however, that learning this truth would shake him so much.

- Ah, how melodramatic it got on the other side," Rosalie declared, and Tom walked up to the barrier and wanted to touch her, but the girl stopped him at the last moment. - Don't do that. It could be dangerous for you.

Tears appeared in his eyes. With a longing look, he looked at his parents, wishing they would take him with them. He would rather not stay here. Now that he saw them he wanted to leave with them. With his father, who, like him, looked shaken.

Jack walked up to the barrier and looked carefully at his son's face, especially his glazed eyes.

- Don't leave me here... - said Tom in a brittle voice, at which Rosalie rolled her eyes. This was not the reaction she expected from him. She thought he would hate his parents after what they did to him.

- I'll come back for you...

Rose snorted under her breath, well aware that they had no chance of getting their son out of this town.

- I trust you. - The boy shifted his gaze to Alison, who was looking at him with wide-open eyes, putting her hand to her mouth. "You're the only one I trust," he repeated to his father, who nodded.

- Don't delude yourself, Tom. They will not get you out of here. They don't have that power," Rosalie spoke up, smiling under her breath. - They no longer have the right to come back here.

- You are mistaken. Remember that we still have the sword, as well as your mother, and we can find a similar person as Alison was before," he announced in a raised voice. - And until then, take good care of him.

The girl took Tom's hand and laid her head on his shoulder.

- I assure you that he will be perfectly cared for, and I will not give him up so easily to anyone.

The fallen angel swept his gaze around his son's face one last time and turned his back to him. He moved ahead, entirely ignoring Alison's presence.

- Wait for me...

- Don't even come near me! - he warned her, and then she stopped in mid-step. - Stay away from me, or I'll tear you apart out of nerves. Believe me, I've never been so mad at you as I am at this moment.

- But let me...

Jack had moved far enough away from them and Michael, with a nod, acknowledged that they could join him. However, before Alison decided to do so, she looked over her shoulder and fixed her sad eyes on Tom.

- My Jeremy...

She saw in his eyes the grief he felt for her. He knew the truth and knew that she was the one who abandoned him. He realized that his father had no idea of his existence.

Therefore, currently, it was he who he was counting on...
