Chapter 13 - Chapter Thirteen

After I had gotten home, I was all dressed up for my evening jog when Jane called me and insisted that I joined her and Chloe to get the perfect outfit for Halloween. She had to bribe me with a bottle of wine before I agreed to go so I quickly changed my clothes, before I left the house.

Before now I didn't really think of what I was going to wear for the party which was this Friday. I was sure I'd have just worn some jeans and a top, dressing as me.

Parking the car in front of the store, my phone dinged from the center console where it was seated. It was a message from Luke my brother.

Bro- mum n dad said u've been home alone for 3 weeks now.

I typed in a quick reply.

Me- yh nd m perfectly fine.

He replied almost instantly.

Bro- I'll see for myself when I come this weekend.

Me- yay!

Bro- missed you too

I chuckled and took my purse from my backpack before stepping out of the car, tucking my phone into my front pocket.

I missed having Luke around so this weekend should be fun. Plus my parents were coming back this weekend which was kind of cool, we were hardly ever together for more than a day anymore.

The store was a small local one but it was best known for its Halloween costumes. If you didn't have anything in mind, just waltz right in and you'll have a costume in your hands in no time.

Jane and Chloe were holding some outfits in their hands when I walked in.

"Liv here," Jane threw a black dress at me. "Try that on." She shoved me to the changing room.

I rolled my eyes but still changed into the dress. It was short and stopped mid-thigh. It had a deep back cut and had a really small sleeve with a boat neck.

I stepped out of the dressing room. Jane and Chloe's mouths dropped. Chloe turned around and went to a rack nearby.

She emerged with something black in her hands. It turned out to be wings. She helped me slip them on and pushed me to the mirror.

My mouth dropped too. The dress hugged my body perfectly and with my black boots I had on it was just perfect. I smiled and looked at Jane and Chloe through the mirror.

"What will I ever do without you guys?"

"Who knows? You can't survive without us." Jane joked and Chloe and I laughed.

I helped them find their own outfits. Jane went for that girl from Scooby Doo, the one with red hair that always wore purple while Chloe decided to go as a Nun.

When we were finally done we paid for our outfits and walked out together. The day was slowly coming to an end and in an hour or so, the sun would start setting.

"You guys wanna go for a smoothie?" I asked as I tossed my outfit in the back of my car.

"Sure," they replied at the same time so we all got into our cars and drove in our separate cars.

"So how's it going with Callum?" Jane asked after we had settled into our booth and we all had drinks in front of us.

I quirked a brow, "what with Callum?"

"Oh come on, you know what we're talking about," Chloe rolled her eyes, playing with her straw.

"I don't know what you're talking about but if it's what I think it is then there's nothing going with Callum, we're just messing around." I took a sip of my own drink.

"Can you guys ever get serious for once?" Chloe rolled her eyes.

"We can but we won't. I don't like him like that," I shrugged.

"But he likes you like that," Jane rested her elbows on the table.

"Yeah, that's the problem. He caught feelings, I didn't but enough about me what about you guys?"

I'd never seen Jane or Chloe in a serious relationship before, it had always been messing around for us.

"She slept with my brother," Jane eyed Chloe.

I nearly spat out my drink, "what? Which of them?"

Jane had three brothers who were insanely hot but Jane always made it clear that they were all a no go so we stayed away from them as much as possible.

"Jason," Jane shuddered.

"Chlo how did that happen?" I needed answers.

Chlo shrugged, "it was a mistake actually. I went over looking for Jane" she gave Jane a dirty look. "She told me to come over which I did but she had already gone grocery shopping with her mum before I got there-"

"That was not my fault plus I sent you a text to tell you what happened but you were too busy fucking my brother to read it!" Jane stopped her from talking.

"Whatever, I didn't see it on time." She returned her gaze to mine. "Anyways so Jason and I got talking and it just kind of happened."

I looked at Jane, "don't tell me you walked in on them," I grimaced.

"Nah. When we heard the door we were quick enough to separate but I wasn't quick enough to get out of the room," Chloe said while looking at Jane.

"And when did this happen and how come I wasn't aware?" I shot both of them annoyed looks.

"You've been anywhere but around us Liv, don't blame us." Jane said.

I frowned. That was kind of true, recently I'd been keeping more to myself.

"Oh well, now I know." I tried to avoid them asking me what was going on because nothing was actually going on.

We changed the topic of discussion and an hour after we all went home. I couldn't sleep so I closed my eyes and took my sleeping pills and let them do their job.
