'What do I do?! What do I do?! What do I do?! What do I do?! What do I do?! What do I do?! What do I do?! WHAT? DO?! I?! DO?!"
Those were the thoughts racing through Olivier Clawthrone's mind when he truly realized what was going on: King had snuck into his backpack for whatever reason, and now his three human friends had seen what they probably thought was a real life Pokemon…Cubone, if he recalled the name right.
Luckily for him, it seemed that Oum was too engrossed in her Rom-Com to have heard the delightful squeals of Anne, Marcy and Sasha…along with the oddly cute scream of King; similar to his angry shriek.
But the half-witch boy knew he had no time for laughing and cooing at King's misfortune. He needed to figure out how the heck to explain or make his friends forget about all this!
'Wait! Mama whipped up a potion just for something like this!'
There was one problem with that:
'…Its in my backpack! And I'll then have to explain the glass!'
Then Olivier got another idea.
'Oh, wait! I could do a mind erasing spell!'
There was a problem with that too:
'….Mama never taught it to me!'
At this point, Anne had pulled King out of the bag and was petting him, which made him tense and relax…before Sasha snatched him and tried to see if he was a toy or a real creature.
'Come on, Olivier! Think! THINK! You spent two days watching TV, you had to have seen at least SOMETHING that could help!'
Sadly for the half witch, this was not the case. Not a single idea from all those cartoons and sitcoms he, Hooty and King binged could be applied to this situation. At this point, he might as well just tell the truth and hope for the best. But that was crazy, right?
…
Wait a tic.
'…So crazy…' The boy realized. 'It. Just. Might. Work!'
"Ollie! Where did you find a real live Pokemon!?" Marcy, now hugging a struggling King beamed.
"I AM NOT A GOSH DARNED POKEMON!" King roared. "OLLIE! WHO ARE THESE TINY YET ODDLY FAMILIAR MONSTERS?!"
Deciding King had suffered enough, Olivier pulled him out of Marcy's embrace, the Taiwanesse girl reaching cutely for the supposed Pokemon as he did so.
"Anne, Sasha and Marcy." Olivier said, pointing to each of them for King. "Anne, Sasha, Marcy? This is King."
"Wait? YOU'RE Sasha?" King asked the blonde girl who'd backed up Olivier imn the park and was determined to become a superhero. "…I thought you'd be taller."
Sasha tensed grit her teeth and glared at the little monster.
"HEY! I'M STILL GROWING!" She roared, raising a punch.
"WAAAH!" King shrieked in fear, hiding behind Olivier, who he tried to push forward. "Get in there! Defend your royal brother's life!"
"Oh, so NOW I'm your brother!" Olivier mused with an angry frown. "But whenever I tried to play with you, you always said you wanted nothing to do with me!"
"Its to toughen you up for when I return to my proper width and height!" King snapped. "Besides, you used me as a pony when you were a baby, I have every right to want to avoid you!"
"Oh, will you get over it?! It was four years ago!"
"YOU get over it!"
"What am I supposed to get over?!"
"You know darn well!"
"On dear Titan, you're in your delusional 'I'm a psychic but you're too dumb to hear my thoughts' phase again…And wait a minute, why DID you sneak into my bag?"
"Unimportant! But if you must know, it was to make sure you don't get inh trouble and as usual, I find you doing nothing but playing with potential foes or allies while I at least try and learn and prepare for glory!"
"What glory? The glory of being a scary looking munchkin?"
"YOU KNOW DARN WELL I HATE THAT TITLE, MIXED EYES!"
"AND I HATE THAT TITLE!"
"YOU WANNA WRESTLE!?"
"I'M ALWAYS UP FOR SPANKING YOU!"
"LET'S GO!"
Throughout the whole…conversation, Anne, Marcy and Sasha's eyes darted back and fourth between the two speakers; not sure how to react, if they even should.
"…Really glad I don't have a brother or sister right now." Anne finally said, Marcy and Sasha nodding in agreement.
"WE ARE NOT BROTHERS!" Olivier and King snapped together on reflect, Olivier then holding King back with a hand and looking embarrassed.
"Sorry! Sorry! Sorry! Sorry!" The poor boy apologized profusely
"I take it that happens a lot?" Marcy guessed, Olivier sheepishly nodding.
"What was all that about 'regaining'?" Sasha asked.
"AHA!" king noted. "My future nemesis…!"
Olivier bonked King on the head to at least quiet him for a bit
"He thinks he's some great and powerful Demon King who lost all his powers and is stuck here." The boy explained. "And he's actually a….dog? Cat? Wolverine?...I really don't know. An animal of some kind that my mama found a year or two before me; apparently the leader of our plantation experimented on animals and King…Well, he looks like that and can talk…Please don't tell anyone!"
Olivier got on his knees, begging. Then he grovelled.
"I know it's a lot to ask…" he started.
"Okay." Anne smiled.
"Sure." Marcy promised.
"No prob." Sasha gave a thumbs up.
"…Wait, seriously?" Olivier asked.
"Um yeah. That's what friends do, right?" Anne asked.
"You saved us from bullies, keeping King a secret is the least I can do." Marcy smiled.
"I think you mean helped me save you and Anne from bullies, but yeah. Sides, now I have something to train against!" Sasha beamed before shooting a King a look. "And just to be clear: If you really ARE some kind of monster? Watch yourself. Because if Olivier and Miss Eda aren't around to watch your back? I'll be kicking your butt."
King struggled to his feet and glared back at Sasha with determination in his form.
"Awwww!" Marcy and Anne cooed. Olivier had to admit the scene was pretty cute and funny himself.
"Thank you." He said, fighting back tears. Anne spied this and rushed to her desk, handing him a hanky to clean his eyes….she then hugged him, which he melted into and returned. Then spying Sasha and Marcy, they opened their arms for them to join.
King even managed to sneak in; later he'd claim he felt a need for a hug to 'sate his hunger for violence.
"You are going to explain this to mama when she picks us up," Olivier said, the huig still going with as much authority as a five year old could muster.
"…That's Fair." King sighed as the hug ended, leaving the five children in a semi awkward silence before….
"Anne, what is the Thai Temple?" Olivier asked. "And why are you going to dance?"
The little Thai girl groaned.
'So much for a full fun day…' She mentally groaned before she spied Olivier genuine curiosity. '…Ah, well. Some practice wouldn't hurt.'
Off to the side, Marcy and Sasha shot each other knowing looks…just as King hoped onto Anne's bed and promptly fell asleep amidst pure comfiness
OWLPHIBIA
'Edalyn, this is the LAST straw!'
Those were the thoughts of a tall, raven-haired woman as she stepped out of a portal and glanced around; the former Owl Lady being her target,
Her name was Lilith Clawthorne; Eda's older sister, head witch of the Emperor's Coven of the Boiling Isles and personal enforcer of Emperor Belos himself. Although looking at the two of them, you'd think she was younger; no wrinkles, full colored hair (even if it was dyed).
Her sister was already causing problems by not joining a coven, but now outright leaving for the Human world YEARS before the Day of Unity?! Even if she apparently told that twit of a bird demon noble what she was learning? As much as Lilith held onto the dream of her and Edalyn working side by side in her coven and Eda finally being cured of her curse? This could and would not be ignored.
Belos himself had given her two vials of Titan's Blood, one of which she had used to come to this realm. Looking around, she saw no trace of Eda…but there were benefits to being able to use ALL: types of magic. Using a fusion of an Oracle and Beastkeeping spell, Lilith's eyes glowed as she then saw footprints. And while faint, not too may. Finding Edalyn's footprints was easy enough.
Awakening Poe and having him enter his staff form, Lilith took to the skies and began to fly in the direction Owlbert had taken…either that or towards the nearest town to inquire about Edalyn.
However, Lilith had been so focused on her tracking sister down she failed to notice there was a second pair of footprints with her…
As well as the fact someone else had come with her: A little boy with pointy ears, black, bushy hair and dragon rimmed glasses.
"M-Miss Lilith?" The boy called out. "…Anyone?"
The rustling of branches made the boy panic and he tried to hide.
"Hola?" A voice called out. "Is someone there?"
Poking his head out of his bush; the boy spied a tanned man with a beard and slicked black hair, looking around.
"Manny, mi amor, come back." Another tanned human, this one with glasses and with a little girl at her side, called out.
"Just a second, Cami." 'Manny' assured her. "If someone's there, can you please come out? I promise I won't hurt you."
He then pulled out something, revealing a badge with a star on it.
"Manny Noceda, Gravesfield Police. I can help you."
Still scared but finding something trust worthy about this man, the boy came out. Manny knelt down and offered him a hand.
"Hi there. What's your name?"
"….Ben."
