Chapter 14 - The Chosen Elicia Chronalis

Romerix and Sera briskly walked out of the Libraries entrance and into the connected hallway. They briskly walked down the long corridor, passing by students who were making their own ways to their designated classrooms for the next period of the day. Romerix and Sera went through corridor after corridor and hallway after hallway to reach their designated classroom. They reached the classroom and sat at their desks beside one another. Sera was beaming with joy, she liked the fact Romerix sat beside her. Lunai walked over to Romerix with Zacharias with her arms folded in a huff. "Where were you Romerix?" She asked annoyed while frowning. "O-oh I was at the Library reading a book Lunai." He said in remark to her questioning. Zacharias rubbed the back of his head with a nervous smile. "Ahah she was adamant to know." "Well I was curious as to where he was he should tell us at least." Lunai said in a huff, her arms crossed over her bust. Sera placed her hand over her mouth in a gentle giggle. Sera thought Lunai was acting like a big sister who must know where her younger siblings is at all times. "Even though you two are not related I get a sibling Vibe from you Lunai." Lunai rolled her eyes with a scoff about her. "Oh shush Sera I just wanted to know where he was is all." Lunai instantly shrugged off what Sera had said. Romerix would be between them both with an exchange of glances from on to the other without a thought to make of what is happening. He was riddled with confusion. Zacharias on the other hand found it funny through a quiet snicker under his breath. "Control freak is more like it." Markarius said with sarcasm. "What was that!." Lunai said sharply towards the remark made by Markarius. Markarius smirked his gaze upon Lunai who did not like what had said. "Maybe unclog your ears and you'll hear what I said." Markarius said smugly. He was nonchalant with his arm over the back of his chair and twiddling a pencil between two fingers with his free hand. Lunai was visibly agitated by Markarius and had to be held back by Zacharias. "Why don't you say it to my face Markarius!" She said with a scowl. "Lunai Calm down, don't engage him!" Zacharias said pleading. Romerix shot an frowning glance towards Markarius who found the situation amusing from his desk. To Markarius not only did he find Lunai amusing at this very moment but was visibly happy to upset her. "Do you have to taunt her Markarius?" Romerix asked calmly. Markarius glanced over at Romerix and shrugged nonchalantly. "Its fun" He said calmly. "Sit down and Shut up." Solaria said sharply as she walked into the classroom with leisure to her steps. Lunai without a word reluctantly walked back to her seat at its designated location along with Zacharias who sits beside her. The fellow students paid attention with their eyes forward and their mouths shut because Solaria had demanded it. Romerix and Sera also followed suit. "Today you'll be learning about who Elicia Chronalis was and what she could do." Solaria said sharply while leaning on the back of her desk with her hands, her eyes piercing like daggers. Solaria turned around from her desk and used her right index finger to tap the board that was behind her. Within an instant, illuminated words formed upon the body of the board these words became sentences and questions and not only just that. Was she using Chai to be able to do this? Or did she press a tiny button no one could see. No one knew but what the students did know and could see there was now words forming upon the board from thin air that did form sentences and words as they appeared. "Elicia Chronalis was one of the seven chosen of Numen. Along with her comrades she was widely renowned across the land for her great skill in warfare and combat, her talent in the craft of Chai and its properties." Solaria said in statement. The students were fully invested into the lesson and what it had to offer. Most, if not all the students were keen to learn about who Elicia Chronalis was and what she could do with some even writing down little notes based on the subject at hand. "Elicia was known to be well at working with her comrades and being a vital key player against the power of the enemy forces the seven chosen would go up against. "It was said in records that we have of that time, that Elicia Chronalis was capable by herself of fighting off a thousand strong army at the Pinilax Ridge by herself without the support and backup of her comrades. Her skill and knowledge gave her the edge over her enemies. many would face her and many indeed fell before her hands." Solaria said with reverence. She turned around to face her students who were in awe of Elicia Chronalis, they were amazed and astounded to hear someone was capable of such a feat of strength. Markarius like usual wasn't really interested in who Elicia Chronalis was or what she could do. All he really cared about was using Chai and to become greater then anyone has been in history, even above the seven chosen on Numen. These study lessons bored him to a point of feeling he would fall asleep. That was hpw bored Markarius was on this topic as it didn't even interest him in the slightest. "Why do we have to learn about them" Markarius thought to himself. "Not like their alive or anything this is so boring I might as well just sleep through this damm crap." Romerix leaned forward in his desk, his hand caressing his chin while he was pondered in deep thought. "What was she like...and what was that battle like" He thought. He himself was astonished of Elicia's physical feat of strength. Was he interested to know more or was it because he wanted to know everything that is written down about the chosen of Numen and how he can learn from them? He couldn't put his finger upon it all he did know was it motivated and excited him to know every little detail he could possibly grasp and absorb into his mind. "I wonder what is for dinner tonight?" Zacharias thought to himself. Yes the lesson and study intrigued him but at this very moment the only thing he wanted to know was what he is eating tonight as he already hungry again, even with lunch break having been over only ten minutes ago. Sera glanced over at Romerix who was deep in pondered thought. A gentle smile rose across her face and a twinkle in her eyes. "I wonder what he could possibly be thinking about?" She wondered to herself. Sera put it down to his thoughts must be about the topic of the lesson. "How could Elicia battle against such a large army and not fall?" Scepticism filled Lunai, she doubted someone possibly was able to achieve such a feat of endurance. Though she was sceptical of such a thing she did become somewhat to curious to find out how Elicia didn't fall at Pinilax Ridge. "How exactly did she survive the battle at Pinilax Ridge Miss Solaria?" Lunai asked curiously with her hand raised high. Solaria gazed at Lunai with a raised brow to her question. She walked around to the front of her desk with her hands behind her back. "That is a good question Lunaia and to awnser it we must go back twenty four years ago to the battle of Mount pinilax. Twenty four years ago the seven chosen of Numen faced against an overwhelming army of five hundred thousand strong. From a kingdom that is no longer upon Limuria called the kingdom of Orchestad a wicked and vile kingdom." Solaria spoke calmly, besides Markarius everyone else was fully invested in this slice of history. Some were more interested then others while the rest, especially Romerix and Lunai were fully focused on Solaria and what she was saying. The room itself seemed to beam with hungry minds that were eager to here what this story had to tell their young minds. "This kingdom was power hungry, full of greed and glutton and with savage craving for the power the seven chosen possed within them. They declared war against the seven chosen and sent five hundred thousand of their best warriors into battle to face against the seven chosen." Solaria continued while the students listened intently. "They met at Mount Pinilax to face against overwhelming odds that were stacked against them. The leader of the chosen Nefsus who we will speak of in another lesson, had his comrades split apart and take on parts of this massive army before them while he himself took on the king of Orchestad and his personal guard himself. Elicia with her weapon drawn which is given the name Duskreaver, a scythe that emitted a heat like magma and a sharpness too it no normal weapon could even hope to reach. Elicia cleaved and sliced through droves of soldiers in one swipe, cutting them down like a hot knife through butter. The battle lasted three days and on the final day of this war there was only seventy thousand soldiers of Orchestad left with Elicia cornered upon the ridge in Pinilax. Swing by swing and slash by slash these ten thousand she had before her fell from tens to the thousands in a mater of two hours. No matter what these soldiers tried they could not lay a finger upon her, she cut them down with swift elegance through sheer exhaustion and determination and her comrades also. Then finally the battle was won and the war over by the hands of the chosen seven with Nefsus finishing the vile king off for good." Solaria spoke with Reverence, out of the seven Elicia Chronalis was her favourite and who she looked up too. Majority of the students were gobsmacked at this story, most if not all of the students beamed full of surprise and awe of what has transpired before them. Some turned turned to their fellow student and began chatting to one another in amazement and surprise. Lunai went wide eye in shocked disbelief of what she heard, it wasn't that she still was sceptical but amazed at the power that Elicia Chronalis possed and how she defeated so many before her. Zacharias while still thinking about food, couldn't wrap his head around this thrilling story, and like before Markarius could not care in the slightest of what Elicia was capable of. Romerix on the other hand was beaming with excitement about the battle at Mount Pinilax and its Ridge. It made him eager to learn much more of what each chosen one could do and the power they possed. Sera riddled with confusion didn't know what to think from what Solaria had told them, all she knew was that if this story of history is true then these seven would be the strongest beings to walk upon Limuria itself. "Now as we come to the end of this Lesson and you move onto the next with Bruticus, i want you all to keep in mind tomorrow you will be having another practical lesson in Chai, so I expect to see you all there early." Solaria said sharply. Markarius perked up to what Solaria had said with a smirk forming upon his face. "Finally something interesting." He thought to himself. This was something had been wishing for all day to happen but unfortunately it did not come today but hearing that they will be using chai again in tomorrow's lesson made him happy. "Now off you go and meet Bruticus out into the courtyards for your physical training and don't make me tell you again." Solaria continued. The students with smiles on their faces and beaming with an aura of happiness left the classroom one by one. Romerix stayed behind to ask Solaria a question he thought of in the last five minutes of the class before heading to the lesson with Bruticus. "Miss Solaria I have a question, when is the next lesson about the chosen ones of Numen?" He asked curiously. He had walked over to Solaria with leisure to his steps. "Two days from now and it will be about Nuovacus." She said in statement directly to Romerix. Romerix smiled, filled with eager excitement to learn more. He then took his leave out of the class room in a brisk pace to catch up with his friends. "Kid loves to learn I guess" Solaria thought to herself while locking up the classroom door.
