Gloria's Bar, a few hours earlier.
Klaus and Stefan returned to Gloria's bar after their brief trip down memory lane. The bar was lively, bustling with customers coming and going, drinking, and enjoying themselves. Meanwhile, Klaus and the rest awaited Henrik and Rebekah's arrival.
"My dear Katerina, how does it feel not running like a scared little mouse around the world?" Klaus asked mischievously, taking a seat beside her at the bar counter where she was having a drink.
"Klaus, don't be ironic now. Please." Katherine rolled her eyes at him. "You chased me around like prey, not giving me a chance to settle down anywhere."
"Well, you were the naughty girl that ruined my plans and made me wait for more than five hundred years until I finally could become what I was intended to be from the start. So you can see the awful predicament you left me in." Klaus said, a hint of anger in his voice as he recalled the past.
"The only problem with that plan of yours is that I needed to die. No thank you, I still want to keep being alive." Katherine said, despising him.
"Well, as you see, not everything can go as one desires." Klaus chuckled.
Katherine scoffed at him.
"Alright, don't get grumpy, let's leave the past behind, love." Klaus said, changing the subject. He was more interested in something else—specifically, the tattoo Katherine sported on her right breast, the same as every other girl of Henrik's.
"Tell me about the wolf tattoo you have on your right breast, the same the other girls also have. It's quite eye-catching, showing to everyone you are marked already." Klaus inquired, pointing at it with his glass.
Katherine thought for a moment, unsure if she should tell him anything at all. But after a second, she smiled, already planning how to use this chance to inquire about things she wanted to know.
"Henrik put it on me, marking me as his." Katherine said vaguely while sipping her drink.
"I already know that, but how did he do it? Obviously, he isn't a tattoo artist." Klaus rolled his eyes. "Or at least he doesn't appear to be one. Still, the tattoos are too lifelike and all precisely the same as far as the eye can see."
"And I have the thought that it does something more than show that you are taken to the world." Klaus continued, voicing his doubts.
"You are quite a fox, Klaus," Katherine said, a little surprised that he had given it so much thought.
"You are right, it seems to be a magic marking. For it to be imprinted on someone, he needs to have sex with a girl." Katherine said mischievously, looking at him.
"Why am I not surprised?" Klaus said, chuckling loudly. "It seems the kid's dick is magical as he fucks right and left when he can since I met him."
"Oh, it is. You have no idea, the best one I had. I can't live without it now." Katherine said without shame.
"You are quite wild, Katerina." Klaus smiled. "What more is to it?"
"I don't know all of it. But so far, it can allow a vampire to be under the sun like a daylight ring and can reduce the need for feeding drastically. It seems to give also a resistance to vervain, and I don't know what more there is to it." Katherine said with a sigh, quite astonished and satisfied about the tattoo's advantages, happy to have it, not to mention the other perks like being Henrik's woman, enjoying his blood—the best delicacy in the world—how good he fucks her, and his protection.
"That's fascinating, actually. I wonder how he does that." Klaus said, thoughtful.
Seeing that the time was right, Katherine inquired what she wanted to know from him. "Oh, don't tell me that you want to brand your girls like he does. Tell me, how many women have you had so far? You imagine all of them sporting your own mark?"
"Haha, Katerina." Klaus laughed loudly. "Maybe, now that I think about it, it doesn't sound bad at all. How much fun I would have had if I could do that."
"About how many girls I had, they were a lot. Why did you want to know about that?" Klaus said as he sipped his drink.
"Curious, can't you be a gentleman and satisfy a woman's curiosity?" Katherine said, fluttering her eyelashes at him.
"Alright, since you have been so serviceable, I think I can amuse you with a few stories." Klaus chuckled. He was a little confused inside about Katherine inquiring him about that kind of info at first, but as she talked quite well about what he wanted to know, he intended to amuse her about it, at least with the ones he remembered.
The more Klaus talked and thought about the matter, he started connecting the dots of why Katherine was inquiring him about it.
Making him fall silent mid-conversation with her, as doubt and confusion washed over him. He started questioning Henrik's identity, contemplating whether he could actually be his son. The resemblance was uncanny; Henrik had many of his facial features. Moreover, the spell locator had already indicated they were family, and with no other plausible family connections, combined with the spell's confirmation that his siblings were indeed part of the family, the pieces seemed to fit all too well.
He wasn't a fool; he just hadn't given much thought to the matter before. He figured it was merely a kid fooling around, but now that the spell had revealed he was actually related to them, everything changed.
So, he began to ponder, if only he had been part of his family without the rest of his siblings, things would have been different. But the previous results only indicated that he could be an unknown brother sharing the same father, or perhaps a twin, or even a nephew. However, that last option seemed nearly impossible unless one of his brothers had somehow impregnated a female wolf back when they were human. Yet, that still wouldn't explain how he was a hybrid. There was no way for that to happen unless he had been created like himself, through Esther's spell.
As vampires, they couldn't procreate, so the options for what his immediate relationship could be to them were quite limited, the more he thought about it. In the back of his mind, he tried to dismiss the most shocking possibility... that he might actually be... his son!
But... if that were the case, how could he have impregnated someone if vampires cannot procreate? Knowing that he had told him he was a baby compared to his age only furthered this line of thought.
"It seems you've already figured it out and started thinking about it," Katherine said, amused, after a while, as Klaus stopped talking mid-sentence and became lost in thought, his face going through a range of expressions to her amusement.
"Since when have you thought about it?" Klaus asked quietly.
"Long ago... It was something surprising and amusing. Who would have thought of it, that maybe there was a mini Klaus out there?" Katherine laughed about it.
"But it shouldn't be possible... You know that vampires can't have children." Klaus said quietly.
"Clearly, there's something we're not aware of. Henrik knows everything that's happening, but he refuses to discuss it." Katherine shrugged.
"Yeah, that pesky little brat keeps pushing for the whole truth to a later date. He says I will know everything in a few months, making me wonder. I don't want to wait that long for answers but there is nothing I can do." Klaus said irritated as he drank fully his glass, a little terrified about the possibility of having a son... and also expectant of it?
"Don't you have a witch at hand now? Maybe you can get some answers about the possibility of all this from her." Katherine said, sending him to find more answers to the mystery, as she was enjoying trying to reveal the puzzle that was her lover's true identity.
"You are right. I will see what I can find." Klaus said as he poured himself another drink and prepared to move to where Gloria was.
"Wait, you still haven't given me a clear answer now that you know about it," Katherine called out to him quickly. "So, who is it?"
"I don't know." Klaus smiled and shrugged, leaving her alone at the bar counter.
Katherine chuckled, truly amused as she watched him walk away.
Gloria's Bar, present time.
When things calmed down with Klaus after Henrik had sex with Rebekah and marked her, Henrik looked at his phone and saw Katherine's message. She had sent Klaus on his way as a method of distraction, giving Damon and the others an opportunity to take Stefan away. Katherine told Klaus that he actually wanted to meet Rebekah intimately to mark her as they were talking.
Then he saw a message from Caroline, informing him that she had returned to Mystic Falls with Elena and Damon. Since Elena was devastated after her fallout with Stefan, they hadn't brought him back with them. Caroline also mentioned that she needed to attend school, so she couldn't stay in Chicago for long.
After Henrik returned to the bar along with Klaus and a loved-up and smitten Rebekah who clung to Henrik all the time, the events back at the bar had already long subsided.
"You know what is the best of all this, Nik?" Rebekah said as she rested her whole body against Henrik while she sat on his lap. "That, at least you can't control me anymore if I want to be with Henrik."
"I'm his now and you can't kill or make him forget like the others," Rebekah said mischievously as she kissed Henrik's chin and neck while caressing his cheek with her hand.
"Oh, oh. Don't get too carried away, Rebekah. Even if I can't separate you from him, you're still my little sister. You still need to listen to me." Klaus said with a smile as he looked at Henrik sitting on a long couch. Rebekah was being quite intimate with him on his lap, and his other two she-wolves were on his arms at his sides. He was truly conflicted inside as he looked at Henrik's face, thinking about the possibility of him being his son, as there was a chance of it being a reality after his chat with Gloria, even if they didn't know how yet. "See, what kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into, Henrik? Rebekah isn't like any other woman; she doesn't fall in love half-speed. So just be careful, she's totally mad."
"You can't say that, Klaus. You obviously had a hand in her being like that." Henrik chuckled as he kissed Rebekah's neck, leaving a rosy imprint on her. "Still, I don't have anything to fear, she is a lovely woman just as she is and I really like that she is mine now. A lover like her is quite great."
"Will you like to be with me from now on, Auntie?" Henrik said as he kissed her lips, still joking as he called her auntie. "Always and forever?"
"Mhm~~ I do." Rebekah moaned in their kiss with cloudy eyes. "Always and forever."
"I never thought I would be like this with my own family, but I don't dislike it at all." Rebekah said with love-filled eyes as they separated from their kiss.
"Oh, hell." Klaus rolled his eyes as he looked at the show in front of him. "It seems I'm being left alone, again. It's time to bring back my old pal completely this time it seems or I will get eternally bored."
"Stefan," Klaus said as he moved to a downcast and gloomy Stefan who was having drink after drink, not caring too much about his surroundings.
"Yes?" Stefan asked nonchalantly as he drank his glass and served himself another.
"You can remember now, Stefan," Klaus said with a little smile as he touched his shoulder and removed his compulsion.
-------------
Alright, dear readers. A few important things happened in this chapter, and I understand that some of you may like it while others may not. However, I believe it was time for these events to occur. After all, Klaus is not foolish, and neither is Katherine. Katherine had already suspected that something like this might be a reality since the start, and seeing the spell locator only confirmed her suspicions. Rebekah had her doubts immediately upon hearing him, as there weren't many possibilities if he were directly related to them.
Maybe if the story had started a little differently, all this could still have been avoided. But as the fanfiction began with him being known as a Mikaelson, there was only one path to walk.
However, the chat about the subject has yet to begin. Even if it does in the next chapter, they would still remain oblivious to how this is possible, who his mother is, and when he was born. Katherine and Rebekah will likely uncover these answers at some point. Perhaps Katherine will be the first to know, given what she will be asked to do.
I'll leave the chapter here, as I've written what I thought so far that is in line with the plot. When I figure out how to continue, I will bring you more chapters.
If you have a good idea, you can provide suggestions on how to advance the plot related to family matters in this sentence, making it easier for me to find them here. I won't ask about future events, as I already have an idea of how to proceed with them.
