As night fell, the piano room was left with only a faint residual warmth. Su Feiyan, with his backpack on, returned to his dorm, but his mind just wouldn't settle. The scene of Lin Xi discovering that he could play the piano kept replaying in his mind, and even her words, "I've never heard such beautiful music," became a melody that made him blush.
After washing up, he took advantage of the fact that his roommates hadn't returned yet. He took out his braille typewriter from his backpack, felt his way to the desk, and opened the computer to send an email to his piano teacher.
"Teacher, something happened today…"
He told the teacher everything about Lin Xi discovering that he could play the piano, and then carefully added at the end:
"She said my piano sound was beautiful, but I still feel a little embarrassed."
Less than ten minutes after sending the email, he received a reply. He clicked on the email, and the familiar humorous tone immediately greeted him:
"Su Feiyan, it seems your secret can no longer be hidden! But that's not a bad thing. The fact that a girl likes your music means your skills haven't faded, you're doing pretty well."
Su Feiyan smiled slightly, but before he could continue reading, the next part of the email made his face instantly turn red:
"Listen to me, since she likes it, next time you get the chance, play a Chopin Nocturne for her. Pick any one, the Nocturne is the most romantic piece that touches the heart. Conquer her with romance. Remember, both the atmosphere and the music are important!"
He stared at the screen, frozen. His ears quickly turned red, and he almost wanted to close the computer immediately, but his hand hovered in midair, not moving.
"Teacher, are you being… too exaggerated?" Su Feiyan bit his lip, murmuring to himself, his face flushed so much that even the dim light couldn't hide it. He quickly typed a reply:
"Teacher, I just want to play the piano for myself, not for romance or anything like that!"
A few minutes later, the piano teacher's reply came again, this time with an even more teasing tone:
"Oh? Not for romance? Then why did you feel embarrassed? Besides, music is the most direct form of expression, don't resist it. If you dare to play, I'll bet that she'll definitely be conquered by your music!"
Su Feiyan stared at the screen, biting his lip, his feelings mixed. He took a deep breath, as if trying to calm himself, but he couldn't help but picture Lin Xi standing beside him, listening to his piano, and the sound of her humming softly.
The wind outside gently swept by, and the moonlight spilled onto the desk, as soft as a silent nocturne. He held the keyboard, sitting still for a long time without replying, his fingers lightly tapping a rhythm on his knees.
"Chopin's Nocturne…" he murmured softly, a helpless and shy smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
