I screamed. Blood flowed from Shadow like a waterfall, before he snapped the man that had attacked himself neck backwards.
He slumped to the ground, clutching his wound. There was so much blood, I had never seen so much of it in my life.
"SHADOW!!!" I screamed, sprinting to him.
I fell to my knees, sobbing, this couldn't happen, I wouldn't allow him to die.
"Shadow, no." My voice was quiet,
whimpering. "Don't you dare die!"
Shadows eyes seemed to be struggling to stay open.
"G-get out of here, it's n-not safe." He coughed up blood, wheezing.
"I'm not leaving you!"
I grabbed his arm.
"Get up! We're getting out of here, NOW!!!"
I pulled, trying to bring Shadow to his feet, but I wasn't strong enough, no matter I pulled with all the strength I had, I couldn't get him up.
"You... you need to go now." Shadow said, his voice becoming more quiet by the moment. "I don't want you... to die... just like how I am right now."
No, no, NO!
His eyes then drifted off, looking to the sky, a blank expression on his face.
"Shadow?!"
I pressed my ear to his bloodied chest. There was no pulse, I then checked for breathing, nothing, absolutely nothing. He was dead.
I hugged his dead corpse, crying
uncontrollably, it was too late, he was dead and it was all my fault, I hadn't listened and now I was facing the consequences.
I sobbed still, for 30 seconds, hugging myself to his body.
I then felt something pull me off of him. No, no, no!!! It was a woman, she looked just like Shadow, the black fur and skull-like face all the same, but she looked much older than him.
"Please... please don't tell me that was my son." She said weakly.
"Your..." I realized it was Shadows mother I was speaking to.
"One of them... they killed him." I whimpered, tears still running down my face.
She pursed her lips, tears forming in her eyes.
"I wish I got to tell him I never meant to cast him out the family." She said, seeming to hold back her crying. "I wish I could have told him..."
I saw a flash of silver, bright with the sunlight brightly reflecting off the smooth metal surface, slashing through the wolf-woman's neck.
Her head flew off her neck, blood spraying all over me, i shrieked, stumbling back, falling over, my knees crashing into the concrete.
I looked up and saw the man I thought Shadow had ended forever staring back at me, his neck still twisted.
"Thought you could kill me sonny?! You can't kill what's already been killed!!!"
He laughed hysterically looking down at me, he picked up the machete, stained with his and Shadows blood, the blade appearing almost completely red.
I tried getting to my feet, the man stabbed me in my calf. I screamed in pain, the blade embedding itself deep inside me.
"Your not getting away now, are you little boy?!"
"Stop it!!! Let me go!!!" I shrieked, begging him to let me go.
"I don't think so." The man said, his voice becoming lower and more sinister.
He picked up the machete, raising it high over his head, he kicked me down, I crashed onto my back, blinded by the sun in my eyes.
The man then Shadowed the sun, his menacing smile right at me. I had no one, absolutely no one to save me.
He brought down the machete, and it cut right into the socket of my eye.
I saw blood splurge up through my other eye before my vision darkened, fading to black
