"As long as you consume points to send a directional marker, if the marker successfully locates that world, a link can be established for traversal. However, there is a high chance of the directional marker getting lost."
The cost of the directional marker appeared in Gaal's mind: "Hiss— One hundred thousand points each? And it doesn't even guarantee 100% accuracy?"
Gaal felt a slight pang. After thinking about it, he looked at the three hundred thousand points in his system and decided to try placing a directional marker towards the One Piece World.
With a mere thought.
A spatial rift appeared in front of Gaal, a black, cone-like object shot into the rift, which promptly closed.
Is that it? Gaal's mouth twitched slightly. So hasty...
But there was no point dwelling on it.
Gaal's consciousness continued to delve into his system space to find the area for exchanging directional markers. Indeed, there was now a section for directional coordinates.
Rows upon rows of markers appeared, mostly shrouded in darkness. Only a few were lit up, with some glowing brightly and others dimly.
The brightly lit ones were markers for the One Piece World, the Naruto World, and the Dragon Kingdom.
Dimly lit worlds, however, bore names that were partially obscured, such as **"fulen World," "ss Jobless World," and "or the God of This World."
Based on the memories in Gaal's mind, he could roughly identify them.
Except for the "Dragon Kingdom," Gaal searched his memory but had no real impression of it.
Nevertheless, there was a related backstory.
On the Arad Continent, there was a dimension known as the Dragon Kingdom.
In that dimension, Helder was assassinated early on, which freed Bakal the King of Dragons from various schemes, allowing him to conquer the Demon World and continue his campaign through the heavens and the Arad Continent, ultimately turning the entire universe into the Dragon Kingdom.
Bakal's ambition grew excessive, and he attempted to establish dimensional gates to conquer other universes.
But he was tricked by the dark elves under his rule. When the massive dimensional gate was completed, it opened to reveal fully armed interdimensional invaders...
He went from invader to invasion victim.
Though he managed to repel the invaders in the end, Bakal was gravely injured, and his army exhausted, causing the Dragon Lords under his command to rebel, leading to the collapse of the Dragon Kingdom.
King of Dragons...
Gaal rubbed his chin, recalling the muscled dragon fiend from the Arad data archives he had seen in his previous life. He wondered who would win in a fight—him or Acnologia the Black Dragon.
Acnologia is particularly formidable with his immunity to magic and the number of dragons he's defeated.
In contrast, Bakal had limited magical immunity and magic capabilities, which allowed the dark elves to give him trouble.
However, he was a powerful muscled dragon, larger than Acnologia. If he could overcome Acnologia's defenses, it could be quite the battle.
With that thought, Gaal didn't hesitate.
He promptly converted a significant portion of the materials he'd collected on the ground over time into essence points.
He placed two additional directional markers for the One Piece World, three for the Dragon Kingdom, and with over a hundred thousand points remaining, he decided to place one for the Naruto World.
As for the **"fulen World," "ss Jobless World," and "or the God of This World", Gaal didn't place any markers there for now. One reason was that his Essence wasn't complete, and fully restored coordinates weren't available.
The second reason was that, compared to the Fairy Tail World, these magic worlds didn't pose much of a threat. Acnologia's magic immunity meant certain death for challengers.
To combat Acnologia, Gaal initially considered using the Three-Dragon Union combined with Legendary Pokémon for direct confrontation. Now, he had more options for external assistance from those worlds.
Otherwise, in this magic world, an invincible magic-immune black dragon was too formidable to oppose.
Zeref's attitude showed he couldn't defeat Acnologia either. Ankhseram's curse could handle mages like Mavis, but not Acnologia the Black Dragon.
Dispatching seven directional markers in total, Gaal couldn't help but feel a slight sting.
The last time he spent points like this was for Sage's Wrath, but even that didn't exhaust seventy thousand points. Half a year's work for nothing.
However, considering it's for dealing with Acnologia the Black Dragon, the sacrifice seemed worth it.
It's time to repair the system quickly and unlock more functions.
Gaal's consciousness exited the system space. On the ground, after consuming the majority of the materials, about half a room's worth remained, already sorted by Gastly and Haunter.
Gaal stored them into his system space.
He checked the time. What would usually take an hour or two to sort through only took twenty minutes.
Thinking it over, Gaal activated Spatial Magic and returned to the guild.
Inside the guild.
As Makarov sat at the bar drinking, a flash of light shimmered next to him.
Gaal appeared once more.
Makarov, surprised, remarked: "So soon? I thought you had something urgent."
Gaal, frowning slightly, replied: "Well...I did, but I managed it."
Gaal looked around the hall: "Where's Mirajane?"
Makarov answered: "Mirajane is watching Laxus and Gray's battle in the back. Lisanna and Elfman have already joined the other kids."
Gaal nodded: "It seems they're integrating well. That's good."
Makarov gave a grunt of acknowledgment and took out a bounty order, saying: "Take a look at this."
Gaal took it, and involuntarily clicked his tongue: "Oh? A bounty from Grimoire Heart, huh. Let me see..."
[Gaal Blons.]
[Level: A-Class Mage.]
[Magic: Gravity Magic, Curse Magic, Pain Intensity Magic, Illusion Magic, Crush Magic, Time Magic, Requip Magic, Reflector Magic, Amplification Magic, Fire Magic, Water Magic, Earth Magic...]
[Magical Beasts: Gengar (suspected ghost-type magical beast), Urshifu, Ninetales, Alolan Ninetales, Greninja, Dragonite...]
[Abilities: Capable of creating Time-based items, Space-based items, Requip based items, Curse based items...]
[Spells: Gravity Magic: Tenfold Gravity, Stacked Magic: Double Pain Intensity, Curse Magic...]
[Bounty: 50 billion Jewels]
Gaal eyes widened as he read: "That detailed? They even know the names of my Pokémon?"
He had used those spells before, but hadn't disclosed many of his Pokémon's names.
Makarov shrugged and said: "That's not hard to find out. They didn't know about you before, but once they did, they could easily gather that information from the townsfolk. It couldn't be helped. The key now is that the bounty is so high specifically targeting you. It's dangerous."
Gaal couldn't help but smile wryly: "This thing...can I claim the reward myself?"
If it were a billion or two Jewels, Gaal wouldn't mention it—it's like a few high-profile missions.
But this is 50 billion Jewels!
Makarov rolled his eyes at Gaal: "What do you think?"
Gaal clicked his tongue: "They can even afford 50 billion Jewels?"
Hundreds of high-ranking missions worth of rewards rivaled the tax revenue of several kingdoms.
Makarov replied: "Now's not the time to consider that. The important thing is your bounty is 50 billion, yet your strength is only marked as an A-Class Mage. Maybe you should level up so fewer people might covet."
Gaal thought for a moment and said: "I can do that. Even though my Magic Power isn't enough, I can handle typical S-Class Mages. So if I need to advance, I will."
Hearing Gaal's words, Makarov felt exasperated: "Your Magic Power isn't enough? Even Gildarts praises your Magic Power's strength."
Gaal shrugged and said: "I guess my equipment's just good, but ultimately, it should come from me. Speaking of which... Do I need to take any tests?"
Makarov said: "Nope, your achievements speak for themselves. I've already applied to the Magic Council. You'll see the announcement across the continent soon."
Gaal's mouth twitched: "You didn't play fair, old man. What if I hadn't agreed?"
Makarov laughed: "Whether you agree or not, you have to. Our guild urgently needs someone to hold things together."
Gaal countered: "But you're here."
Makarov shook his head, his expression growing somber: "I'm afraid I can't..."
Gaal's expression changed: "Are you going to die?"
He quickly grabbed Makarov's wrist to check and said: "You're fine?"
Makarov rolled his eyes at Gaal, speaking gravely: "It's not me, it's Ivan."
Hearing Ivan's name, Gaal furrowed his brows. It had been long since he'd seen Ivan. Ever since Laxus' condition got better, Ivan, as a father, disappeared. Even after asking Makarov a few times, he kept quiet.
Now...
Makarov's voice was heavy: "Ivan's in a troubling state. During my last contact with him, I sensed a distinct difference in his tone and mental state, as if he were consumed by madness. He has always been obsessed with power, and now he's somehow learned of its existence. I argued fiercely with him, and he left.
Now I fear he may fall into the dark side in his pursuit of strength. We have to prepare ahead of time, given the recent wars, the mages' unrest toward us is already significant. If something happens now... it could be the end."
While others might not understand, Makarov knew his son too well.
Since Laxus' condition improved, Ivan, freed from worry, delved into a pursuit of power-driven madness.
He even somehow learned of the existence of Lumen Histoire, demanding Makarov hand it over.
Makarov, obviously, couldn't agree. That was Fairy Tail's trump card, not something to give away to an even more unstable Ivan.
They parted acrimoniously after a heated argument.
And the most recent intel showed Ivan was last seen in a Dark Guild.
The room fell silent before Makarov spoke again: "There's one more thing. The explosion outside Novir City, the Magic Council is nearly done with its handling. I need to head to the Council for discussions about the upcoming war. You'll be in charge of the guild during this time. So, I intend to teach you an extremely advanced Light Magic: Fairy Law."
