Chapter 5 - It Might Hurt a Bit

The severed leg floated in front of Ur as Gaal's words faded.

Ur looked at her broken leg, her lips twitching slightly as she said:

"If it's possible, I would appreciate your help."

After all, it's better to have original body parts.

Saying this, Ur canceled the shapeshifting magic on her right leg, causing the ice-made calf to drop to the ground.

Gaal nodded and replied:

"It's just a small effort."

With telekinesis, Ur's severed leg floated back into place, aligning perfectly with the wound.

Gaal raised his wand:

"Healing Light."

There was no incantation, nor any magic circle; it was simply a basic emission of green light hitting Ur's leg.

Then, under the astonished gazes of Gray and Lyon, the severed leg visibly began to repair and regenerate within just a few seconds. By the end, the leg was fully restored, and aside from the calf being slightly pale, there was not a trace of a scar left.

Lyon's expression fluctuated; although he didn't want to admit it, this guy's abilities seemed superior to Ur's, especially having healed her broken leg...

No!

It's just a simple healing magic...

In terms of strength, Ur must be the strongest!

Gray also stared blankly at the scene.

"So this is the magic of Fairy Tail's mages… Impressive..."

In just a moment, Gaal had saved Ur and effortlessly healed her severed leg, like a legendary hero.

The key was that Gaal looked only a few years older than them.

Having just been healed, Ur sighed in relief, collapsing to the ground as cold sweat streamed down her forehead, her voice trembling:

"This is really... difficult... How can healing magic hurt this much?"

Although it was only for a few seconds, the agonizing pain combined with an unbearable itch almost made her scream. She held it back, fearing losing face in front of her two apprentices.

Seeing Ur in this state, Gray and Lyon rushed over to support her:

"Are you okay, Ur?! Did that guy do something?! Damn! I knew it!"

Lyon said nervously, then glared at Gaal, only to get reprimanded by Ur.

Gaal shrugged and explained:

"In order to better gauge the patient's reactions during treatment, I collect data."

"So... My healing magic is enhanced with a tenfold pain perception. This way, the patient can clearly feel every inch of their pain during treatment, amplified tenfold. That ensures we won't miss anything during healing. Pretty impressive, right?"

Looking at Gaal with a smirk, as if inviting praise, Ur's lips twitched:

"No. This is just sadistic fun, isn't it?"

Tenfold pain...

What kind of ridiculous idea would come to someone's mind!

Suddenly.

A huge tremor shook the ground. Boom—!!!

In the distance, a deafening roar echoed; Deliora had completely broken free from the giant rock hands that had been restraining it.

Deliora got back up, no longer focused on the Dragonite that had been interfering but instead turned its gaze towards them, accumulating tangible magical energy in its mouth.

"Roar—"

With a roar, a heart-stopping energy surged forth, filling the air with a frenzied aura.

In Gray's eyes, the falling snow in the sky seemed to pause.

The entire world appeared to be dominated by Deliora's furious roar and the energy surge that grew from a small glint to overtaking his entire field of view.

Gray's mind went blank.

"Am I... going to die?"

In the next instant, a complex magic formation filled Gray's vision.

Swish!

The group vanished from their location in an instant.

The violent energy roar crashed into the ground.

Boom—!!!

A mushroom cloud, nearly a thousand meters high, shot into the sky, with a furious shockwave sweeping outwards.

Nearby the town, on a slope not far away, a magic circle suddenly appeared, and Gaal and the others were transported there.

Watching the near-thousand-meter-high explosion mushroom cloud in the distance, Gaal couldn't help but exclaim:

"What incredible magical power."

The total magical energy from that single energy roar was equivalent to that of an S-class mage.

But Deliora was limited by its basic instincts, unable to maximize its magical power, only capable of emitting basic roars.

Perhaps that is due to the rules.

After all, there are no perfect beings in the world.

According to Zeref's book, the larger a demon's body, the stronger its magical power, but the lower its intelligence, with only beast-like instincts and a desire for destruction.

The most representative examples are the Undying Calamity Deliora and the cursed demon, Lullaby.

Conversely, the smaller in size, the higher the intelligence, with many later demons appearing in Zeref's book belonging to dark guilds or the Spriggan 12 of the Alvarez Empire in the western continent.

Though many of these demons possess less magic power than Deliora, the spells they control could easily kill it.

The gap in intelligence and rank cannot be compensated by sheer magical power.

Gaal turned to Ur:

"Stay here for now."

After saying that, he looked down at Brago Town and pointed his wand.

Swish!

He vanished from his location.

In the center of Brago Town, Deliora instinctively marched toward the explosion, now devoid of annoying magical energy, pondering if those pesky bugs were dead.

Suddenly.

Deliora's giant body, as massive as a mountain, uncontrollably toppled over.

Boom—!!!

The ground within hundreds of meters sank in unison as Deliora was painfully weighed down by an overwhelming force.

"Gravity Magic: Tenfold Gravity."

Gaal's voice echoed softly as he stood before the grounded Deliora.

Deliora struggled to lift its enormous head, gazing at the small insect before it, slightly opening its massive mouth as mighty energy gathered within.

Watching the energy accumulate before him, Gaal smirked as he raised his palm toward Deliora.

Several magic circles of varying sizes swirled before his palm:

"Amplification Magic: Layered Sunlight Beam."

A beam of scorching light, as thick as an arm, gathered in front of Gaal, expanding several times after passing through the layers of magic circles.

It shot towards Deliora's mouth, colliding with the amassed magical roar.

Boom—!!!!

From a distance, a massive mushroom cloud ascended, as violent energy surged visibly through the air.

The snow covering Brago Town melted away rapidly.
