"Sensei, you, you've returned?"

Shisui was running past the shop entrance when he glanced inside and noticed Kyōichi sitting there.

Kyōichi moved his book aside and looked up.

"Yes, I came back and saw you all training hard, so I didn't want to disturb."

"Understood."

Shisui walked in.

He glanced around, hesitating to speak.

Kyōichi said impatiently, "If you have something to say, just say it. A five-year-old acting more mature than Asuma isn't a good look."

"Yes, I wanted to ask if the Chūnin Exams are about to begin?"

Shisui inquired.

Kyōichi raised an eyebrow, put down his book, and looked at him.

"No, I saw many Genin teams returning…"

Shisui explained.

"Hmm, the Chūnin Exams are indeed about to start. I was planning to wait until everyone arrived to talk about it."

Kyōichi nodded.

Shisui clenched his fist, visibly excited, which was rare for him.

After a moment.

Asuma and Yūhi Kurenai arrived one after another.

Once everyone was gathered.

"The Chūnin Exams are about to begin. Here are the registration forms. If you're interested, you can sign up. If not, that's fine too. This exam will be different from previous ones."

Kyōichi didn't elaborate.

But.

Kurenai and the others quickly understood.

"Sensei…"

"This is intense!"

Different?

The questions must have been set by sensei!

"I won't reveal the questions, but we can start special training in the next few days."

"Yes!"

Everyone was in high spirits.

The Chūnin Exams!

Even if they might not pass, it would still be good to see the strength of other teams.

Asuma casually sat down, joining in for some food.

After following Kyōichi, his face had gradually thickened, and he no longer carried the pride and discipline of the son of Sarutobi clan leader and the Hokage.

Of course.

Shisui was no different.

He no longer looked like a member of the Uchiha clan.

He wasn't wearing clothes with the Uchiha crest, nor did he constantly mention the Uchiha name. Even when doing tasks like fetching water or chopping wood, he charged ahead—

If it weren't for the fact that these tasks had been turned into missions recently, he might still be helping people for free every day.

Obito was the same.

These two were anomalies among the Uchiha.

The difference was.

Obito was more pure-hearted now—and would become even more foolish in the future.

Kyōichi didn't look down on Obito, but the guy was indeed stubborn, and teaching him was ten times harder than teaching Shisui.

As for Kurenai…

Kyōichi's mind flashed to another figure.

Haruno Sakura.

Kurenai excelled in genjutsu, but in reality, her initial template was quite similar to Sakura's.

Strong chakra control.

A clear mind.

Genjutsu talent.

The only difference might be that Sakura had another "her" inside.

Kyōichi pondered for a long time before finally making a decision.

Super Strength!

Once Kurenai mastered medical ninjutsu, he would teach her the Super Strength Technique for self-defense—Kyōichi didn't know it yet either, as it wasn't among the secret techniques in his study, but it wasn't a big deal. With Katsuyu around, he could always ask Tsunade for guidance.

However.

Kurenai's taijutsu training would stop at the Super Strength Technique.

It was enough for self-defense.

Her main strengths would still be genjutsu and medical ninjutsu.

With that thought, Kyōichi had a complete training plan in mind.

"Asuma, continue your training as usual. The next step is to master Fire Release on your own."

"Yes!"

"Shisui, pause your sword training. Focus on mastering the Vacuum Blade and Vacuum Wave next."

"Yes!"

"Kurenai, I want you to fully master the Mystical Palm Technique before the exams. We won't be taking on missions for now, so if you have any questions, come to me anytime."

Kyōichi gave instructions one by one.

Although he didn't reveal the exam questions, targeted training was still possible.

Of course.

He wasn't the only one doing this.

All the jōnin had attended the meeting, and everyone knew this.

Kyōichi felt the training was necessary.

On the battlefield, you wouldn't always have the right tools at hand.

Take Kakashi, for example.

In the original story, when the Chidori had a flaw and his chakra blade was broken, it felt like he lost half his strength in an instant.

Losing his sword meant losing half his power.

Wasn't that a trap?

Kurenai nodded heavily.

She understood clearly.

If she could master the Mystical Palm Technique and genjutsu before the Chūnin Exams, it would be a huge advantage for her team.

Asuma and Shisui didn't fully understand.

But.

They knew Kyōichi wouldn't lead them astray.

A day later.

Minato brought a document—a detailed plan of Kyōichi's proposal.

It was written by Minato.

Very clear.

It even included the purpose and key points of each item, making it very user-friendly.

Sandaime read it carefully from start to finish.

After a long while.

He sighed deeply.

"Hokage-sama, are you dissatisfied with this plan?"

Minato was surprised.

The more he wrote yesterday, the more he felt Kyōichi's method was more suitable and comprehensive than the original, better reflecting the complexity and unpredictability of war.

Stealing scrolls did have a competitive element.

But on the battlefield, would the mission environment really be that simple?

Impossible.

On the battlefield, even jōnin would attack Genin!

However.

Minato noticed that Sandaime seemed in low spirits after reading it.

"No, I'm just thinking that innovation truly belongs to you young people. As for me… I'm old, no longer up to it."

Sarutobi Hiruzen smiled.

He had always been deep and reserved, but after reading Kyōichi's plan today, he suddenly realized that after so many years in office, aside from following many of his teacher's rules, he had never implemented anything of his own.

Oh.

Wait, there was one thing.

Early graduation, which he had reintroduced.

Even that wasn't as good as what a child had come up with…

So.

Even the Third Hokage couldn't help but feel a little out of sorts.

Of course.

He quickly regained his composure, not showing too much.

After all.

He was the Hokage.

He straightened up and said, "We'll implement this plan as is. As for how to mix the participants, Minato, you'll be in charge of that."

"Yes!"

Minato nodded, then asked, "What about Kyōichi's reward…"

"The village is short on funds. After the Chūnin Exams, I'll ask him if we can compensate him with something else."

Sandaime pondered for a moment.

Generally, the village wouldn't lack money.

But.

The current situation was different.

The war had just ended, and there was always the possibility of further conflicts. The village's funds were stretched thin.

"Understood. I'll go draft the plan then."

Minato didn't press further.

Since the Hokage had made a decision, he wouldn't say more. Kyōichi's reward wouldn't be overlooked.

He had nothing but admiration for Kyōichi.

It wasn't that no one had thought of reforming the Chūnin Exams before, but no one had come up with a good solution.

Making it too much like the battlefield…

Too difficult, with few able to pass.

Too easy.

That wouldn't work either. If anyone could become a Chūnin, it would be a joke.

Over time.

Everyone thought the old ways were still the best, so they stuck to them and stopped thinking about changes.

But Kyōichi's approach was different.

It considered intelligence gathering, command ability, and strength assessment.

In comparison, it better reflected the qualities of a Chūnin.

The biggest problem now was—

How to divide the groups?

Wait.

He also needed to give Obito and Rin special training.

Without Kakashi, it was hard to say if Rin could become a Chūnin, and Obito definitely wouldn't make it past the second round.

At this moment, Minato regretted it deeply.

He felt that instead of giving Kyōichi a troublesome task, he had given himself a heap of trouble.
