"You look breathtaking, Astra." He whispered in her ear, while Jovana felt protected and safe by the simple gesture. But it also made her think about the King and the tragic love that had consumed him from the inside for his whole life.
"Caspian?" Jovana called out, and when he hummed in response, she swallowed hard and continued, "What would you do if the King found out what we are doing and decided to kill me? You know, like FORETES killed–" Jovana couldn't complete her sentence because Caspian embraced her, holding her tightly against his chest.
"It wasn't FORETES that killed his love… It was his greed and recklessness! I would never put politics or war before you." Caspian answered, then his eyes darkened as he continued, "And if the worst happens, whoever is responsible won't have to wait thirty-five years to realize that was their last mistake!"
